This Venetian building is located on the western side of Chania's Old Town, just a few metres from the old harbour. It blends perfectly into an attractive neighbourhood of similar restored and decorated Venetian buildings, set along rustic cobbled lanes. It is just some 800 m to the nearest beach.
This fully renovated Venetian building is tall, imposing and 600 years old. At the start of the 19th Century, the building was used as a French embassy and it was later inhabited by the great Greek politico, Eleftherios Venizelos. The friendly reception team is happy to offer guests expert advice and recommendations of the most beautiful places to visit in Western Crete. The hotel has a total of 10 beautiful rooms, 2 of which are maisonettes, fully restored and traditionally decorated to provide guests with a truly warm welcome. Facilities on offer include a lobby, a bar and a breakfast room.
All rooms are complete with all modern conveniences, including a WC, a telephone, Internet access, a TV, a mini bar, air conditioning and central heating in winter, ensuring our guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Make use of convenient amenities such as complimentary wireless Internet access, concierge services and a reception hall.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We stayed at this beautiful property for 5 days and we have to say that we never had such a warm and kind team looking after us like they did. A truly exceptional customer care and service all along the stay. And even after..since I forgot something that was very dear to me..they made sure to send it back to my hometown Porto, Portugal. Thank you again for everything π
Great stay in Chania! Service, staff, and ownership were wonderful during our stay. Great location to explore Chania and access to the port!
Hard to find a better mix of location, helpful staff and price. We thoroughly enjoyed our 6 nights - at the top of 3 flights of stairs - in a historic hotel in the middle of old town. We are a family of 3 focused on adventure and exploration - and this was the ideal location for us. Max our western Crete experience by day while loving the energy of the old port (and World Cup matches) until the wee hours of the morning. Rooms were adequate and maintained. Towels, early breakfast to go (or stay) provided⦠knowledgeable and kind staff. Beds were comfy, showers were hot, A/C was cold. It was exactly what we needed as a home base. This is NOT a resort and nor does it pretend to be. It delivers exactly as promised and more.
Very nice hotel at the center of the old town of Chania. Walking distance to everywhere The staff was really nice, and the service was great with a special and tasty welcome treat! The rooms were very clean and new, while very respectful to the Cretan architecture. Definitely a value for money choice. Beware of the stairs which could be a problem if you are travelling with infants or having movement difficulties. The stairs are however a part of the Chania architecture!
The hotel is one minute walking from the harbour but still in a very quiet area. The rooms are big and confortable with a nice bathroom. The cherry on the top of the cake was the staff, all very friendly. Strongly recommend this hotel. And after being there i discovered that this was an historical building throughout the years.
