Mitsis Royal Mare

We stayed at this hotel for a week in May, the hotel itself is really lovely and spotless clean, the staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you. We had fantastic service from Rhxdon at the main bar he always made sure we had a drink. The food in the main buffet restaurant was luke warm at most which was a shame because it tasted really nice but I like my food hot. The Italian was really nice food, and the south American was my favourite, the food was delicious in there. Drinks from any bar is very weak, to a point were I was sure I was drinking non alcoholic drinks. They definitely don't serve premium drinks. If you like a strong drink i'd suggest going to a bar by the harbour. There's plenty of sunbeds by the pool, but it could do with some entertainment or music to liven it up. The weak drinks and cold food are the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

Had such a fantastic time at Mitsis Royal Mare. This was our second visit, and we loved it! The hotel itself is beautiful. It’s set out like a small village, with attractive buildings and beautiful grounds, and it’s absolutely immaculate, thanks to the army of fantastic cleaning staff and groundskeepers who work all day long keeping everything spotless from the rooms to the footpaths. The food is wonderful. Most of us in my family are vegetarian and we were genuinely spoiled for choice at every meal. Our son is vegan, and to be fair it was a bit more limited for him but nevertheless there was still plenty for him to eat and everything we had was so tasty. They are also really good at labelling food on the buffet to show whether it’s vegetarian and, if not, what meat is in it, which is really helpful. The staff in the restaurants are so friendly; lots of them remembered us from last year and were so welcoming. There are several à la carte restaurants which are all really great, led by Aphrodite and her team, with fabulous friendly service and great food, but the food in the main restaurant was also just so great for every meal and again the staff were so warm and accommodating from the staff greeting at the entrance to the staff waiting on the tables. Although we didn’t need it, I saw the chef take several people round the buffet guiding them on what was suitable for their dietary needs and he was clearly more than happy to do so. The manager of the main restaurant is also really kind and friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. We’re all really keen on fitness, and the facilities at this hotel are some of the best we’ve seen in any hotel. The gym is well-equipped with free weights and a wide range of machines, and there’s also a large fitness room where you can do aerobic work. There’s a good programme of fitness classes every day led by a fabulous team of fitness instructors who are clearly professionals and take care to grade the programme to the ability of the participants, so you always felt challenged but nobody was ever made to feel uncomfortable. Again, the staff in here all remembered us from last year which was really nice. The bars all have a great range of drinks - different cocktails are available in different bars, all made to order not just the pre-mixed stuff you get in some hotels. They’re all really decent, made with real spirits although not too strong. The staff in the bars are all fab. In the main bar it’s waiter service, but the waiters are really attentive and quick to offer you another drink long before you’ve finished your current one. Particular mention to Herson, who was our waiter every evening and is just great. I also need to mention Maria and her team in the Kalypso bar, who are so friendly and warm.
