Royal Mare Thalasso & Spa Resort in Crete is a luxurious 5* resort sprawling over a large sea-side property with a breath-taking design of rooms and an amazing pool landscape. The hotel opened in 1997 on the Blue Flag awarded beach of Anissaras, in Hersonissos, Crete.

Relax at the full-service spa, where you can enjoy body treatments and facials. You're sure to appreciate the recreational amenities, which include 2 outdoor swimming pools, a health club and a sauna. Additional amenities at this hotel include complimentary wireless Internet access, babysitting (surcharge) and an arcade/games room. Getting to nearby attractions is a breeze with the local area shuttle (surcharge).
The Mitsis Royal Mare is a wonderful hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable (ours has a fantastic sea view) but most importantly the staff are the most courteous yet friendly and helpful I have ever come across. We ate bruch this morning in one of several à la carte restaurants and were bowled over by the exceptional service delivered by the staff who clearly worked together like a well-oiled machine (staff in the Pacifico Restaurant are Afrodite, Manolis, Irene and Mxrix) but their service is mirrored in all the restaurants in the hotel. Our holiday is 2 weeks all inclusive but, although we have eaten all but 1 meals in the hotel, we could not get bored; the choice is amazing at every meal. In fact all the Cretans that we have come into contact with have been helpful and obliging beyond belief. Crete is well worth a visit, and I would highly recommend the Mitsis Royal Mare if you want to treat yourself.

Despite 2 severe weather warnings, the hotel and staff have been amazing - always welcoming and friendly.
The food in the buffet has been varied and the 5 included à la carte restaurants were excellent. Our favourite was the Pan Asia, but the creperie has to get a special mention with at least 2 visits a day!
The room is large, modern, clean, and functional. No problems at all. The mini fridge is refilled every other day which we found to be plenty.
We would definitely return in the future, just maybe in Summer months!

Even though the weather in Crete was extremely bad the staff at the hotel made the experience fabulous!!
The hôtel, staff, restaurants and rooms are excellent! We are here as a family of 3 with a toddler. Very baby friendly.
