Guests can catch a ride to nearby destinations on the local area shuttle (surcharge).
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We had a lovely stay at Cretan Village with my husband. The food was very good and there were some nice options to choose from. The mini market was convenient, although the prices were quite expensive. The facilities were decent but could use some improvement.
What really stood out to us was the staff, who were very friendly, helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. We also appreciated the professionalism of the lifeguards around the pool. They were constantly keeping an eye on the pool area and paying attention to what was happening, which made us feel safe and comfortable while enjoying our time there.
Overall, we had a pleasant experience and enjoyed our stay at Cretan Village.
I was actually very disappointed in this hotel. It was very Italian focused. They had a company called big wave at the hotel and it catered to only Italian people and a lot of favouritism towards them.
Food was basic. Was what you’d expect from an all inclusive. Unfortunately I got food poisoning one of the nights. The Greek night was good they did gyros. But that’s the only one day they do them I’d hope it would be more Greek food considering it’s a Greek country but it’s not. Food also is very Italian focused which it sad as the hotel is called “Cretan village” it was more Italian village. Pizza throughout the day was good always fresh in the stand. And the crepes were delicious.
Drinks are okay. Very limited compared to other Mitsis hotels.
Mini market is absolutely extortionate with pricing which was so disappointing.
The staff that I had personal experience with was overall nice special shoutout to muskan and roula they are the two people who made my bad holiday a good one.
I was also disappointed that the photographers because the prices are so expensive 130 euro for 13 photos that took up a lot of spending money. Overall i wouldnt come back to this hotel.
Beach is gravel and in the sea very rocky ended up cutting my ankle open and badly bruising it.
We stayed here for 10 days and we really enjoyed it, the personel is really friendly and helpfull.
The only downside are the rooms and the umbrella’s by the pool, that needs some work.
We also had a nice photoshoot with Johny and Djody. The pictures looked very beautiful, a bit expensive but in the end it is what it is. You have a beautiful memory from a nice vacation.
Overall, the hotel is fine. It is located close to the beach, which is pebbly, but not particularly inconvenient. The food is decent, with a good variety, so everyone should be able to find something they like. The rooms are clean and cleaned every day.
However, there is one huge downside for me: the hotel seems to be very much focused on Italian guests. If you are of another nationality, you can really feel like a second-class guest.
The evening entertainment is only in Italian, or mostly in Italian. During one show, which was supposed to be for everyone (a Variety Show), one of the Italian animators even made a “joke” in Italian (I understand basic Italian) saying that there were more Italians, so he wasn’t even going to bother translating anything. Apparently, that was supposed to be funny.
The mini disco was also entirely in Italian. I was staying with my two young daughters, and it was honestly quite sad to have to explain to a child that she cannot understand what is being said because the activities are basically aimed at Italian children.
As a result, Italian guests also seem to behave as if they have some kind of additional privileges. I have stayed at several Mitsis hotels before, and I have never experienced this kind of favouritism. This is definitely not what I expected from this hotel chain.
Unfortunately, this aspect really disappointed me and affected my overall experience. I am writing this review purely to provide honest feedback, especially because I have noticed that several other guests have already mentioned the same issue, yet unfortunately, nothing seems to have changed.
