Beautiful beach front hotel
This is a fabulous hotel with many positive aspects. Firstly the staff are so lovely and friendly it’s hard to single anyone out , but I have to mention Manos who is so lovely behind the bar and our wonderful cleaning lady who always cleaned our room so well and gave us the biggest smile! The location is amazing so many bars, shops and restaurants about, it can be difficult to choose. We went to the Atlas supermarket across the road most days to buy lunch , again super friendly staff and a great selection of food . We also booked tickets on the Fun Train for their Southern Comfort tour, which I throughly enjoyed, it was a great chance to see the surrounding area, and the booking office was about a minute from the hotel . We didn’t really do anything else as we enjoyed alternating between the beach and the pool , you are so spoilt to have both in such close proximity. The sea can be quite choppy and the rocks are very slippery , so beach shoes really help and you can buy those reasonably cheaply locally . I loved the fact that there were no sunbed wars!! No need to put towels on the sun beds when they are so readily available, which was a refreshing change The hotel has a spa but we didn’t use it. There is a small art gallery showcasing their 20th anniversary which you can view with a complimentary glass of wine . Breakfast was good, a reasonable choice of food , a pot of very nice coffee is brought to your table every morning and sparkling wine is also available, which was a nice touch. We had lunch a couple of times at the hotel which was fine , but didn’t use the restaurant as it was buffet. Our double room was lovely, small but had everything we needed, plenty of cupboard space , though not many hangers. We had room 407 on the ground floor, we had seen a previous review about the terrible view( a large bush directly outside the room) and initially asked if we could have a different room when we were allocated it . The staff member was understanding but asked if we could ask again in the morning as it was too late to change at that time. We actually decided to keep the room, the view was slightly limited but it is a pretty garden view and the room is quite private. The balcony doesn’t get lots of direct sun, but we were out most of the day and glad of the shade when we returned. Looking around the hotel there is a real mixture of views, but my advice is don’t be put off by other people’s reviews, see for yourself and speak to hotel staff if you are unhappy with your allotted room. I would definitely recommend the Thalassa hotel to anyone thinking of booking here .
Best hotel
Fantastic hotel, couldnt fault it ,friendly staff ,lovely rooms,eating area. Has a large pool with plenty of sunbeds which you could reserve. The best hotel in the resort by far and will be returning.
Lovely 10 days - should have stayed longer!
Returned from a 10-night stay at the Thalassa Beach Resort with regret we didn't stay longer!! Lovely hotel, brilliant staff - will definitely return.
Upon arrival, our room wasn't ready so we were given an alternate room until the morning and a meal voucher in the hotel restaurant.. we had no issue with this, not the end of the world.
The next morning, our actual room was made available and the hotel staff moved all of our luggage from one to the other. When we eventually returned to the room after a day by the pool, we were greeted by a lovely plate full of fruit which was a nice touch. The room itself is lovely and clean and provided everything required (although the fridge did take a couple of days to cool things down!). The cleaners were in every day and bedding was changed promptly upon request.
Breakfast was lovely, the fruit was all freshly cut and overall the buffet had a good range of options to suit. We did use our meal voucher on BBQ night in the main restaurant. The food was nice, however I'm not sure the usual €38 per head charge aligns.
The pool is clean and a lovely temperature, as was the rather large Jacuzzi. We did venture down to the beach but did not spend much time on it. There are plenty of sun loungers available and therefore no need to get up at 7am to try and get one. As with most hotels nowadays, there is signage warning people not put towels down to reserve loungers.. this is the only hotel I've been in where they actually enforce this (which for me is refreshing and absolutely fair).
The pool bar is great and everything is reasonably priced. You even get a free bowl of crisps with drinks (which now has me hooked on Tottie's Oregano).
We paid for (charged to room) lunch at the Ouzaki Tarverna 9 out of 10 days and we couldn't fault it. There wasn't a lunch we didn't enjoy.. we were also provided with a free pot of ice cream after lunch which is another nice touch.
Regarding staff, everyone was lovely but special mention has to go to Manos, Manolis, Antonis and Ermina.
Manos - one of the nicest people you will meet - always greeted us with a smile and was more than happy to have a chat with us whilst we enjoyed one of his lovely cocktails on an evening. Manolis and Antonis would typically be on the bar during the day, and are both really great guys! Ermina is more on the Ouzaki side but always served us with a smile.
The local area is nice but fairly busy. If you go left out of the hotel you walk into Agia Marina where there is a good selection of food and bars. If you go right (our preference) and walk for 10 minutes, you end up in Platanias which is a little livelier but with more than enough options for food, shopping and drinks.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and will almost certainly return at some point in the future. We were told 65% of guests who were there during our stay had stayed there before and we could absolutely see why!

- Nymfi - stunning food, lovely atmosphere and staff
- Panorama - great traditional food, with a good view over Platanias
- Cugini - lovely modern Italian with great food

Fabulous hotel on the beach. Highly recommend!
Fabulous hotel. Would definitely return. We had a room on two levels overlooking the sea. It was amazing. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and a plate of fruit and cakes. Staff could not do enough for us. Manos at the bar made the most incredible milkshakes, George's on reception recommended us to some great restaurants- beautiful ones on the beach overlooking sunset and Athina advised us on best trips to take.
Breakfast was plentiful and all looked delicious. Only criticism I have is that staff should serve hot drinks rather than guests walking around with hot coffees, hot water. Most of the time staff were just cleaning tables, so I feel this is something that could be offered for Health and Safety reasons. Ordinary coffee was placed on table, but that was it. I did get them to bring me a jug of hot water which they did throughout our stay.
Hotel is on beach, but its very pebble and sea very rocky. Suggest you purchase sea shoes.

The best adults only hotel
The location of the hotel was right on the beach, atmosphere was very relaxed and quiet. The rooms were clean and a very good size. Great value for money!
