Mitsis Messonghi Beach

4 nights spent with family and didn’t expect much but got a surprise. The hotel is huge and has a brilliant atmosphere.

Food was fine if slightly bland but the puddings are a level up on most all inclusive hotels at this price. Drinks were ok but not great. The cups they use spoil the lager but it tasted fine.

It has a crepe and ice cream shop which is part of the all inclusive and was nice. Snack bars basic.

The beach right on your doorstep is fantastic , it’s stoney but we enjoyed it.

Room was excellent with a lovely view. Cleaning staff were excellent and the whole hotel is cleaned constantly.

First visit to Corfu after finding a last minute deal. We paid £2400 for a family of 4. 7 days in a garden facing family room.

After looking at the average reviews and being totally open minded & realistic we decided to give it a bash as it seemed to be really good value for money during the summer.

We arrived around 3pm and got straight into our room. Room 1128 ground floor, garden facing near the amphitheatre and rectangular pool. Double bed and 2 bunk beds for the kids (7&5) small bathroom with a small shower cubical but super powerful shower.

Room was very basic but a good size and had a small patio area. As the room was rear facing it didn’t get much sun until early evening so the room wasn’t too hot, just as well as the air con packed in the next day. No lights, sockets or air con

We noticed the power was tripping on the mains board. As I’m from a technical background I narrowed it down quite quickly to the air con. I reported this to reception and they attended straight away. The language barrier was difficult and they couldn’t understand what I was telling them. This went on all day and finally when I checked at 10pm they accepted it wasn’t something they could fix so offered to move us to another room. Bit of a pain but we accepted and said we would return in the morning to find out where we were going.

We landed very lucky and got moved to a sea facing beach bungalow (NO 22)

Very last bungalow next to the river crossing boat. What a spot, what a view. Separate bedroom for the kids with 2 single beds. Patio with sun loungers. It really was a proper upgrade and we were extremely grateful. Although we were hardly in the room it was stunning, the sun rise in the morning from our patio each day.

We got our same spot by the pool every morning. We spend all day at the pool with the kids and nip away now and again for snacks, etc. it’s a huge hotel with lots of space but I would advise going down around 0630/7am.

We always had our breakfast in the small buffet restaurant tucked around the side of the main area next to the amphitheatre, it always seemed a bit less manic. We went to the beach restaurant in the evening. Maybe slightly less choice in there but a much better atmosphere.

Lunch was always the pizza and pasta bar. The pasta and salads were superb. We had a night out at 75 steps restaurant and it’s worth the visit for the views alone. Food was good and well priced.

Drinks were fine, tequila sunrise 👌🏻

Always plenty going on around the hotel with a real mix of nationalities but such a great vibe.

Our kids went to the kids club for a hour each day to do crafts (there choice not ours) and they loved it. The staff were fantastic and we felt really comfortable leaving our kids with them, we really appreciated how welcoming they were, thank you!

Overall we feel we got exceptional value for money. The hotel and grounds are vast but the staff all work hard to keep things moving and looking good. Yes you have to queue for food and drinks at times but the hotel caters for around 3000 guests I was told so it’s to be expected.

The hotel merits its 3/4star rating with a few tweaks and improvements it could be a solid 4 star I think.
