A repeat visit for us from the UK as we were guests in 2019 just after this hotel had opened as a boutique in 2018 and Makris was the only restaurant! On his welcome card this time, General Manager Nikos Margaritis wished us an exceptional and unforgettable experience. We had just that and so much more. The coast is, as it has always been - breathtaking, as are the gardens and grounds. We loved seeing the cats well looked after by the grounds team especially Yuki the pure white cat. We were delighted to breakfast at 1962 and to dine at Makris but missed out on Raw (so we must come back again!) The extended facilities and the events and evening musicians were all talented and made for a fabulous cocktail hour. The staff and their real commitment to luxury service here are outstanding. Aurelia in the Haute Living lounge gets a special mention for her kindness and determination to make every moment a 5* one. She is knowledgeable about the hotel and the island and highly skilled socially. Mulțumesc din suflet to Aurelia and eυχαριστώ to Nikos and this season’s team. You may not think this, but we can see how hard you all work. So, have a good rest after the season finishes in October. See you next time!
We stayed for 8 nights and the "Luxury Collection" is not a true and honest description. This is standard Marriott hotel by the beach . It has two very good restaurants " Magrit" and "Raw". A third one which is Italian which was good and 1963 which was below average. We booked the Esmerald suite with a sea view. We faced the swimming pool and were therefore exposed to constant music from the nearby bar area and a DJ at weekends with appalling loud music. We complained about the music level only to be told by management that our concerns were irrelevant and disrespectful. Housekeeping was erratic, inconsistent and plain sloppy. The bathroom towels were grey not white and as old and worn as the age of the hotel which was built in the 1960s. Towels were taken away and not replaced. Same issue with the glasses. Had to constantly be chasing to get things replaced. The bedroom patio/terrace was filthy and had to call to get it cleaned. Turndown service was only done 2 nights out of8* . The remaining days they could not be bothered to come in and just left chocolates outside the room in 35c heat. The pool bar service was again erratic and poorly managed with empty glasses and bottles being left unattended for hours. The hotel employs a large number of students during the summer months so not a lot of hotel experience to be had. All in all an experience at Domes not to be repeated
The resort is large, but by no means does it feel that way when the staff are so attentive and welcoming. The standards in the hotel are excellent, albeit a few minor instances that were dealt with instantly and on reflection, didn't taint the stay at all. Good feel to the place, we stayed in the panoramic wing, which I fell is better as it has good access to the gym and pool, which hardly had anyone in or around it during our stay. Yes they play weird music beside the pool, but dont let that put you off. Overall very good week, love the valet car service, not had that before and it made the week feel very easy and special. Food in the restaurants good quality and staff very welcoming, knowing what you drink, your preferred coffee on every meal. Definitely recommend this place, thanks Marriott!
we stayed at this hotel from 28th August till 9th September. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The staff were amazing, the location, rooms and amenities were wonderful. I had mentioned to the hotel that is was my husband's birthday on the 29th August and they kindly arranged for a bottle of wine and a cake to be delivered to the room. The 4 restaurants in the hotel we all as good as each other and whilst we had planned to eat outside of the hotel, the food was so good at the hotel we actually never did
A fabulous hotel. Stayed in an Emerald Seaview Room which had every amenity. Coffee and water replenished twice a day. Food very good on half board, in all of the restaurants. Breakfast especially was amazing. will definitely return!
We celebrated our Wedding Anniversary whilst there and staff surprised us with a lovely cake and bottles of bubbles - Thank You very much, it made the day even more special!
Note: Beach shore line a bit stoney so take beach shoes but once in the clear blue water it is sandy.
Plenty of sunbeds and sun shades. Never ran out of clean beach towels, available all day long.
Our only complaint was the cost of a bottle of wine, very very expensive. Surely you could have a decent house wine at a more reasonable price?
