Sentido Apollo Palace

We have had the most amazing second honeymoon for our silver wedding anniversary at SENTIDO Corfu. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are so friendly and welcoming, especially Niki at Asado , a massive thank you to her for being so helpful, warm and welcoming,definitely a fantastic hostess. A big thank you to all the staff for making our stay such a memorable experience… we will definitely return and highly recommend it to others 💜

We recently stayed at this resort and overall had an enjoyable holiday. There are many things we really liked, but also a few areas where we feel improvements are needed, particularly considering this is a five-star property.

One of the highlights was the variety of food available at the buffet restaurant. The resort itself has lots of facilities: several swimming pools, water flumes, an adults-only pool with a jacuzzi, a gym, table tennis, a mini market and a small ladies’ clothes shop. There are also several bars conveniently spread around the resort. We particularly enjoyed having access to the private beach area with sun loungers.

The staff were generally friendly, helpful and welcoming, which we appreciated. Our room was also very comfortable, with a huge Smart TV where we could watch Netflix without any problems. The Wi-Fi was excellent throughout our stay.

However, there were also a number of things that could have been better.

As all-inclusive guests, we were disappointed that freshly squeezed orange juice costs €6 per glass. Bottled water in the restaurant is also chargeable at €2.50, although you can have as many glasses of water as you like free of charge.

We also felt that the information provided at check-in could have been clearer. Because our stay was less than four nights, only one à la carte restaurant meal was included, but this wasn’t explained to us. We later discovered that we could have booked an additional à la carte meal with a 30% discount.

We had requested a room upgrade with a private pool before arrival. At check-in, we were told that it wasn’t possible for the first night, but that our request had been noted and the reception manager would look into it the following day. Unfortunately, there was no availability then either and we only managed to get the private-pool room for our last night. As we had to check out at 11am the following morning, we barely had any opportunity to enjoy it, which was disappointing.

There were also quite a lot of bees and wasps around the resort. This may be more noticeable depending on the season, but I think guests should be made aware so they can come prepared with suitable repellents. The resort could also do more to minimise them, particularly around dining and relaxation areas.

Some of the outdoor facilities unfortunately don’t look maintained to a five-star standard. The basketball court and football pitch look rather run down and need attention. The beach volleyball court is okay, but sadly the cats seem to use the sand as a litter tray. The crazy golf is also chargeable and could definitely benefit from some maintenance.

There is a spa and sauna, although the spa is quite expensive and isn’t particularly well advertised. The daytime entertainment also seemed quite limited, although this may simply have been because we visited during low season.

The parking area isn’t very well signposted and is located next to the main entrance rather than inside the resort gates, which can be confusing when arriving.

Even some of the smaller details could be improved. The large Sentido sign outside the property has letters that aren’t properly aligned, and some of the lights aren’t working. These might seem like minor things, but at a five-star resort, attention to detail really matters, particularly when these are among the first things guests see.

Overall, we had a good stay and there is a lot to like about this resort, especially the facilities, pools, beach, food variety, Wi-Fi and friendly staff. However, we feel that maintenance, communication and attention to detail in some areas don’t currently match the five-star standard. Many of the issues would be relatively straightforward to fix, and addressing them would make a significant difference to the overall guest experience.

A lovely resort with plenty of potential — but a little more care and attention would make it feel truly five-star.
