We stayed at the Rodostamo hotel 3-10 August and had a brilliant stay and holiday. I would like to specifically mention Mr Dimitri (who showed great interest and was very attentive in ensuring we had the best possible experience in his restaurant) and his magnificent restaurant and bar staff, Anna, Sotos, Michael and Spiros. These we got to know very well but all the staff provided 1st class customer service. Diana on reception was also extremely helpful with any issues or questions we had. Every meal we experienced at the hotel was fine dining at its best (and thank you for that glorious fish dinner Mr Dimitri). The hotel itself is in a very peaceful location in Kommeno bay with lovely views over the bay and with an easy to walk to bus stop and around a 30min journey to Corfu town with other interesting stops along the route. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others and we thank all the staff for making our stay so thoroughly enjoyable.
This was my third visit to the hotel with the previous visit three years ago. This time I was with my son staying in what they call is a bungalow with a jacuzzi. Realistically, it’s really just a downstairs apartment which to get to you either go by a funicular railway or walk up over 120 streps. We were there for eight nights and from the first night there were two people at night from 10.30pm until midnight making a great deal of noise by moving furniture and stamping around the floor. Also from 6am until 7am the same thing happened as they were checking out. Luckily for the following five nights there was no noise until three new people moved in above with much more noise at similar times. Moreover, you can hear the toilets flushing and people above have showers. The jacuzzi was too warm - 35.5 degrees C and couldn’t be adjusted. Furthermore, the internal cover was quite dirty. Breakfast was just OK but eggs, bacon, sausage and porridge was just warm - not ideal. Unlike the previous stay the indoor restaurant which did a good evening buffet was closed. The restaurant next to the pool just served what I would describe as average meals. There was another restaurant belonging to the hotel called the Avelle Bistro which had good food but had the same menu throughout the season. Overall, the staff were very friendly but I noticed some were not that happy. There are now quite a few staff from the Philippines who apparently work seven months and then return to their home country. I chatted with several of these nice young people and they were paid much less than their equivalent European counterparts which I found not right. The music in the restaurant next to the pool was generally more like disco rubbish. Thankfully, my son had an electric car to visit and stay several hours at various nice beaches and only spent just over an hour late afternoon at the pool. Overall, there are a number of things that need to be addressed at this hotel resort which I won’t go into as there are more that I haven’t mentioned. I believe the way this hotel has been constructed there are no real quiet rooms. Last time I rated this hotel five star but unfortunately now this is more like three.
Rodostamo is a luxurious hotel, but the best part is the wonderful staff and the excellent additional services department. We stayed at a villa which is very spacious and has a lovely view of the nearby bay. The housekeeping was immaculate and even provided daily mineral water and coffee capsules for their nespresso machine. The breakfast has a huge buffet with everything imaginable, but try to avoid peak times as it can get overcrowded. However, what was most special in the hotel is their department for extra Services (car rental, etc.) They offer an outstanding service with excellent cars and full support, suggestions, and proposals on how to make the best of our stay. This particularly made our stay very enjoyable.
We are back again in the Rosatamo hotel and Spa in Komeno Bay for the 4th time. Each time it gets better and better. It is so refined. The people here are beautiful and kind. It feels like coming back to friends. The restaurants at the hotel and the restaurant at the gate Avalle are the best in Corfu. We have had wonderful cocktails made for us by Yaris. We stayed in a bungalow which has a jacuzzi it was wonderful. We are planning our next trip. Thank you Mary Jo anf Catherine
This is advertised as a 5 star hotel, which I suspect having stayed for 4 nights with friends is just about a fair description for Greece.
We stayed in room 330 a delux sea view room, which was a nice room and bathroom with decent balcony in a small block just in front of the main hotel, which was a good location in our opinion. The room was fitted out as you would expect albeit my wife was disappointed that the plug sockets were not near the mirrors when in came to drying her hair! ( first world problem maybe but you would expect this not to be the case in a hotel that claims to be 5 stars.)
The breakfast buffet was excellent and varied, and the pool bar and restaurant were very good as was the restaurant immediately outside the hotel gates that is linked to the hotel I believe it is called Allende or something similar. We had a problem with service in the restaurant one evening when meals were being delivered in a little bit of a haphazard way and the restaurant manager intervened and smoothed over the issues.
Shout out to Spiros the guest relations lead he was energetic and asset for the hotel.
The hotel is a little out of the way so if you want to do things off site this will generally involve a taxi ride or bus as there is not a lot in the immediate vicinity.
The hotel has a decent pool but all the sun loungers are sited on grass around the pool which is a problem given that there were always an excessive number of wasps in the grass. The wasps seem to be living in the ground but the hotel appears to be not actively getting the grounds people to sort out the nests. This is unpleasant for guests and when mentioned to staff they were reluctant to acknowledge this was a problem, this felt a bit of a head in the sand approach as know one who sat around the pool for very long could possibly be unaware of this problem. Most hotels have tiled areas for sun loungers which avoids this issue.
None the less we had a good stay, but Rodostamo please sort out the wasp nests.
