I would say we paid for a 3* and we got maximum 2*. Annex rooms were in poor condition, there was clean bedding , the bathroom was tiny and shower was hopeless. Pool area very nice with a good view of the beach. This place was probably gorgeous 20-30 years ago. Poor quality access road to the hotel from the main road. If I’d of paid for 2* this is what I would have expected but it’s advertised as a 3*. We still had a great 4 day break but I would have moved if it was my once a year holiday. Food at the bar ok though and the strawberry daiquiris were lovely.
Honest review not what we paid for. We stayed here for a hen do with a group of 9 and booked 3 rooms. Unfortunately, the hotel was nothing like what we expected or on the pictures. We paid extra through Love Holidays for a two-bedroom hotel room, but instead we were placed in an old annex around a 5-minute walk from the main hotel. It wasn’t a two-bedroom room at all, it was more like a dated apartment with three beds in one open space and a kitchenette that looked like it should have been condemned. Amazingly, our room was actually the best out of the three. The bathroom was very basic, the toilet seat was broken, there was no toilet roll on arrival, and because there was no shower curtain, every shower flooded the bathroom. Only one plug socket worked, another was hanging off the wall, and the rest were broken. The biggest disappointment was that our group was split across three separate annex complexes, with some friends staying nearly a 10-minute walk from the hotel. One of the annex pool areas was completely closed, and the pool near our block wasn’t clearly marked as belonging to the hotel or the beach bar. The main pool itself was nice enough, but we were asked to move from the double sunbeds after sitting there for 30 minutes because they required a paid wristband. We would happily have paid if we’d been told beforehand, but it felt poorly communicated and like they just wanted me to move. The pool shower also didn’t work, so everyone was rinsing sandy feet in the bathroom sinks, making it dirty. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and the rep didn’t pressure us into buying excursions or party wristbands. It’s such a shame because this place has loads of potential, in a great location. A few relatively minor repairs and better maintenance would make a huge difference. Overall, I’d recommend shopping around, as there are much nicer, cleaner hotels nearby on the beachfront that felt better value for money.
9 of us came here for a hen do, as soon as we got there we had to open reception door with some force. We got dropped off to our annex room, the room didn’t look like anyone stayed in it for 3+ years. Cobwebs everywhere, sides covered in dust, fake tan stains everywhere. The aircon was decent however when you open the balcony doors it stops automatically. When we came back into the room the place was covered in ants and they was all over our bed. Id also like to say my auntie whose in her 60s had a fall walking up to the pool area as you have to walk through an alley which had potholes left, right and centre. I hurried her to reception to see if they could help as I though she had hit her head and blood was dripping from her arm. The lady at reception didn’t have a first aid box or anyone who was first aid trained there, I had to beg for water then quickly after she informed me there was a medical centre down the road. They only have 2 hairdryers on sight to hire so make sure you take a hairdryer and iron(and only one plug socket worked). Don’t let these reviews fool you the manager cons people to leave good reviews, be very careful if you come here and don’t come by yourself:)
Island beach resort was probably great 20 years ago. Now however it is sadly run down and things are very tatty. To get into the main reception you have to prise the automatic doors apart as they no longer slide open. The alley way to the main hotel is full of pot holes, which caused my sister in law to fall and cut her arm and bs g her head, the reception staff had no first aid kit and were not equipped in anyway to deal with an emergency. The annex rooms are scruffy, and my friends room was full of ants, and the showers are tiny. The pool at my annex was not cleaned and the water in the pool was green. The pool at my friend's annex was not filled with water and was a hazard to guests. We tried to make the most of our short 3 day stay. The pool at the main hotel was ok, and I can say that the Irish bar down the road was great. We ate at different restaurants and the food in Kavos was lovely. But Island Beach resort is definitely not somewhere I would recommend you stay.
Beautiful place right in the middle of Kavos strip very friendly staff and excellent entertainment from nanny the dj everyday
