Conveniently situated in Agios Ioannis Peristeron, on the beautiful and bright island of Corfu, this stunning accommodation is the ideal place to stay when visiting this destination. Nestled on the green mountain, visitors will be enchanted by the breath-taking natural surroundings and the blue Ionian Sea that extends right in front of the establishment. Corfu’s town centre is 16 kilometres away and Corfu International Airport is at around 15 kilometres away. All the air-conditioned rooms are fully equipped with modern amenities such as a satellite TV and boast great views to the sea, the hotel’s swimming pool or the mountain. The property offers several dining venues such as a restaurant, a lobby bar and a pool bar. Among other facilities, travellers may pamper themselves with a refreshing swim at the saltwater, outdoor swimming pool.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Very disappointing. I have never left a review before but felt this is definitely not a 4* as advertised. Hotel very tired-lots of broken fittings in bathroom, a trickle of water from the broken shower between 5-7 and water either scalding or freezing. Air con leaking, adult sleeping on a Z bed. Raw chicken, literally no veggie food, not enough sun loungers or tables for guests, no where to sit. Two items of property taken from our room. Pool unusable due to volume of people and volume of thumping music. Lovely location, weather great, sea beautiful.
Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing. The hotel feels poorly maintained, with leaks across the walkways, unpleasant drain smells, mould in the room, and a general lack of upkeep.
The rooms are dated but otherwise fine; however, they are very noisy with thin doors. The hotel also needs much more accurate and up-to-date photos online, as the current pictures do not reflect the condition or overall feel of the hotel.
The food was repetitive, fine but not great! and the snack bar was very limited, so the experience hardly felt truly all-inclusive. The main bar was understaffed, and although some staff members were pleasant, helpful and nice others were very unhelpful and rude when we raised issues.
. There was constant jumping into the pool, excessive inflatables, and very little sense of a relaxing atmosphere.
Another major issue was the lack of secure storage for valuables after early checkout. Late checkout was unavailable, yet the hotel offered nowhere safe for us to leave valuable belongings.
The worst part was the courtesy room. We were given a room with hair on the floor, used towels everywhere, and a full bin. When we raised this, we were told that the room was “not meant to be cleaned” and that staff had no time to clean it or even go inside. This is completely unacceptable and unhygienic. A courtesy room being used by multiple guests should at the very least have the towels removed, the bin emptied, and the floor cleaned between uses.
We did not feel comfortable showering or changing in those conditions, and no reasonable alternative was provided. Overall, this hotel falls well below a 4-star standard and does not reflect the quality we expected from the Mitsis name.
Having read some of the reviews before coming here we were slightly worried about what to expect. When we arrived we were greeted by Chris on reception who was amazing. He was friendly explained everything and engaged with the whole family exactly what you want in a hotel after a long day of travelling. It was late but there was sandwiches and water waiting for us as the restaurant had closed. All the staff were amazing. A few to mentioned was Elizabeth (Abi) who made our morning coffees and shared the same taste in music as my son as they sang together. Elena was amazing. Spoke to us at every meal and nothing was too much hassle. The room we stayed in was one of the newly renovated room with a direct sea view and we couldn’t complain. Was big enough for the family and spotless clean everyday. The cleaner was extremely thorough and chatted to me daily. She deserves great credit for the work she does unfortunately didn’t get her name. The food was ample and plenty of choices each day. Sometimes you might be surprised if you try something new especially the salads. The kids were a big fan of the ice creams and enjoyed serving themselves. In regards to the sunbeds these are placed out daily around 7ish as they are cleared each evening. We never had any issues getting a sunbed on any of the 9 days we were here but don’t expect to come down at 10am and have one waiting for you. The main bar at night time was amazing. George was fantastic. He memorised the orders and engaged with our children even putting on cartoons for them and made them feel special so thank you. Check out was fine and we were able to book a slot for showers as we had a later flight that day. All in all we would definitely recommend this scenic hotel and we will definitely return. Thank you
2/5 – Not the 4-Star Family Holiday We Booked
We rarely leave negative reviews, but we feel it’s important to share our experience to help other families.
We booked Mitsis Belvedere expecting a 4-star family resort, but unfortunately it fell well below that standard. The hotel felt tired, shabby, and in need of significant investment. Our room was grim and not what we expected from a hotel of this rating.
Our biggest concern was security. We experienced issues that left us feeling unsafe, and despite repeatedly asking to speak with the hotel manager, they were never available. There appeared to be very little visible management throughout our stay, which only added to our frustration. Although we were eventually moved to another room because of the security concerns, the replacement room had a strong sewage smell, creating yet another problem.
There were several other issues that, together, made for a very disappointing stay. There were never enough sunbeds, making it difficult to relax by the pool, and after dinner there was often nowhere to sit because of the lack of evening seating. We found the food to be very basic and repetitive for a hotel advertised as a 4-star all-inclusive resort.
One of the most concerning things we witnessed was children, who appeared to be around 8–10 years old, being served alcoholic drinks at the bar. We found this extremely worrying.
Throughout our stay we repeatedly raised our concerns with easyJet and the hotel but we felt each issue was dealt with in isolation rather than anyone recognising the overall impact these problems were having on our family holiday.
In the end, our independent travel agent arranged for us to move to another hotel. The difference was remarkable, and it finally gave us the relaxing holiday we had hoped for.
Corfu is a beautiful island, but sadly we cannot recommend Mitsis Belvedere based on our experience. We sincerely hope the hotel addresses its security, management, maintenance and guest facility issues. Until then, we would encourage families to think carefully before booking, as we certainly wish we had avoided this hotel.
Our stay was extremely disappointing. The beds were incredibly creaky and noisy, making it difficult to sleep. On arrival, the door handle fell off, and the room doors were so thin that you could hear everything happening in the hallway throughout the night.
The air conditioning unit was also leaking water, splashing onto the bedside table. It damaged our books and even splashed back onto my partner’s face while she was asleep, waking her up. Although staff came to repair it, the problem returned the very next day. The bathroom was also extremely dark with the light on, and made it difficult to get ready in the morning. After experiencing all of this, I genuinely couldn’t imagine spending another night in that room.
The staff were generally lovely, but our final day left a very sour impression. We had been allocated a 30-minute shower slot, but our slot started late because the previous guests overran. Naturally, this meant our shower also ran over slightly. Despite this being caused by the delayed start, staff were unnecessarily rude when asking us to leave. The receptionist snatched the key from my hand and gave me a dirty look. To make matters worse, the next guests waiting for the showers shouted abuse at us, believing it was our fault they had been delayed.
Overall, this was a very poor experience. Between the noisy room, the maintenance issues, and the way we were treated at the end of our stay, I would not recommend staying here.
