Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The hotel has the semblance of a little Corfiot village dancing up the hillside. There are no big accommodation blocks rather small pastel coloured buildings dotted up the hillside. Each has a stunning view over the sea and a large terrace, many with pools or whirlpools. As a result you feel like you are staying in an exclusive villa. Our suite was huge and beautifully furnished. Of course the compromise is the steep walk to reception but there is a very efficient buggy service always at your disposal. The main dining room is a little souless but the food is of a very good quality. Arpegio is very pretty and the food here is excellent. The pool area is absolutely stunning and very well equipped so no fighting for sunbeds. I have seen some disparaging comments about the staff but our experience was exactly the opposite and they were one of our highlights. From the cleaning staff to management we found everyone to be extremely welcoming, attentive and friendly. The hotel is slightly let down by the spa and beach . We had a treatment at the spa which was excellent however the area is small with few relaxation areas and did not feel luxurious . As is explained to you from the outset, the beach is in a preservation area so the hotel are very limited in what they can touch. The beach is not dirty but is small and rustic. The hotel, however, are very willing to run you at any time to other beaches or their sister beachside hotel. The hotel is exceptionally clean and smells divine. Nido is a charming hotel and luxurious with a small L . If you want grandure and statement this is not for you. If you want stunning views and Corfiot hospitality look no further. We would certainly return.
This beautiful hotel offers a warm friendly atmosphere .it faces the most beautiful view of the ocean .has gorgeous greenery and flowers .has a fabulous aroma everywhere .its peaceful .the staff go above and beyond .i feel like they are family now..amaryllis and vasilis are amazing kind and care about making everything perfect .rooms are beautiful .such a comfey bed .amazing balcony .jacuzzi .food is so fresh so tasty .we looked foreward to breakfast every day .the worst part is that we have to leave .see you next year
My husband and I recently spent five days at Nido and unfortunately left feeling disappointed. For us, the biggest issue is that the overall experience simply did not feel 5-star.
There were positives. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and had a good-sized balcony. The pool is lovely with beautiful views, and Nido itself has a very peaceful and serene atmosphere.
Unfortunately, the negatives outweighed the positives.
The beach area feels tired and certainly isn’t what we would consider 5-star quality. There is also a VERY busy road separating the hotel from the beach, which we found difficult to cross at times. This really detracted from the beach experience and is something we hadn’t appreciated before arriving.
The hotel is also very isolated, with very little within walking distance, so you need to factor in taxis or transport if you want to explore or go elsewhere for dinner.
Service was probably our biggest disappointment because it was incredibly inconsistent. Some members of staff were lovely, but others came across as rude, uninterested and unhelpful. This was particularly noticeable around the pool bar, where on several occasions we waited up to 20 minutes to be served and were then made to feel as though we were an inconvenience for ordering. We also experienced buggy drivers who completely ignored a friendly greeting, which may seem like a small thing, but isn’t what you expect from a hotel positioning itself as 5-star.
It’s also worth being aware that the hotel is built into a very steep hillside. Depending on where your suite is located, you may find yourself heavily reliant on the buggy service to get around.
The atmosphere at Nido is extremely quiet and peaceful, which will absolutely suit some guests, but there is virtually no activity or entertainment. Guests can use additional facilities at the neighbouring hotel, which sounds like a positive, but that hotel is the complete opposite of Nido, with lots of families and children.
This means the adults-only atmosphere you have specifically chosen Nido for disappears the moment you go next door. We actually left one of the restaurants because of screaming children, which rather defeated the point of choosing and paying for an adults-only hotel in the first place.
This left us feeling that Nido is caught somewhere in the middle. Stay within Nido and you have the peaceful adults-only environment but limited facilities and very little going on. Use the neighbouring resort for more facilities and dining options and you immediately lose the adults-only experience.
Nido has some beautiful qualities, particularly the views, pool and spacious accommodation, but the overall experience didn’t live up to our expectations of a 5-star hotel. At this price point, we expected a much higher and more consistent standard of service and an adults-only resort experience with more to offer.
Corfu town is a must!! Stunning traditional Greek area with lots of shops, bars and restaurants
Sadly, the cons outweighed the pros for us and we wouldn’t choose to return.
Above all (every thing was indeed perfect) we must mention the kindness of the personal. We travel a lot and never encountered such willingness to fulfill all our needs. This makes the difference for me
This was our 3rd trip. What an amazing place, the staff cant do enough for you. Always smiling, always happy, always going the extra mile. The management go out of their way to ensure you have the most amazing holiday, nothing is to much. I cant say thank you enough for looking after us. Looking forward to seeing you all next year
