The King Jason Hotel

Wow... what a hotel, and what a staffing body. We are truly blown away with this hotel.

Before deciding which hotel we wanted to come to, we did alot of research. Being a newly-diagnosed coeliac, this was my first time away needing to eat gluten free and I was anxious about eating and trying not to get ill. So the quality of the food and the awareness of cross-contamination and dietary requirements was what was most important to us. This hotel definitely delivered. We decided to book for a week on an all-inclusive basis and I emailed the hotel directly to discuss my requirements and gain some clarity regarding the way in which the hotel handled food. Thomas, the general manager, emailed me back and reassured me that they would do whatever they could to keep me safe, and they definitely delivered on this.

Arrival at the hotel was both smooth and welcoming. After around 30 mins on the coach from the airport, we were greeted by Maria, who offered us champagne and chocolates, whilst we filled in forms regarding our personal details. We were shown to a table to complete this. Every other hotel that we have been to, simply makes you wait in a line and sign at the desk. This method was both stress free and calm. You were able to fill in the forms and simply soak in the atmosphere of the hotel on arrival. Upon completion of personal documents, we were then asked to fill in dietary requirement forms (if needed), and to share with the kitchen staff what we needed. I was introduced to the kitchen staff and the chef, where we were able to speak about gluten-free food and how cross-contamination is handled. This step, really did make me feel reassured that I would be looked out for, and that my requirements would be considered throughout my stay. We were shown to our room, and our bags were delivered to us - which was a lovely touch.

Rooms As a family of four, we had 2 rooms. One executive suite, and the other a deluxe suite. Both rooms were beautifully furnished, clean and had everything we could have needed. With a safe, bottled water and tea and coffee making facilities, we were at home. Our rooms overlooked the colourful pool, and was seperate from the main hotel, in a different block - which meant that it was quiet at all times and a good sleep was guarenteed! Beds were comfortable and both rooms had ample space to unpack belongings. Rooms were comfortable, and generally a perfect place to relax after a day in the sun.

Pool areas Pool areas are clean, well kept and aesthetically pleasing. We opted to sit around the main pool area during the day, and relaxed enjoying the sun most days. Around the pool there were staff walking around all day, taking drink orders and delivering drinks straight to your sunbed. Pure luxury! There was bottled water available, in addition to cocktails, coffee's and soft drinks. Anything you wanted, the staff would get - they were very attentive. The pool was relaxing and refreshing, which was needed in the heat of the cypriot summer sun - however, it was not so cold that you couldn't go in! We made use of the pool alot whilst we were here. People did have lilo's and inflatables in the water, but this was no bother, as everyone was just focused on relaxing and enjoying the sun. The adults only status of the hotel, just added to the relaxation side of this. The pool area was both calming and relaxing, and there was no screaming or shouting from kids. There was music played around the pool, which created a calm and peaceful atmosphere.

The hydro-pool was also a relaxing and calm place to visit. We wandered over to go in a couple of times. With full body juccusi's and different jets to massage different parts of the body, this pool was focused simply on the relaxation side of things and gave a spa-vibe. There was also an underwater running and bicycle machine, which was interesting and definitely attracted attention from different people wanting to try this out.

Food This is the area where the hotel in my opinion, excels the most. The food is by far the best that we have ever had at an all inclusive hotel. We have been to many all-inclusive 4-5 star resorts, in a variety of different countries, and this one ranks top. The quality of the food is incredible. Food is carefully planned and the flavours are considered. Unlike other hotels where food just seems to be created because its easy to make for lots of people - this hotel, puts quality first.

From the first day, the chef was happy to take me around the buffet and show me what I could and couldn't eat. The food was carefully marked up with allergies, to ensure that all people, no matter their dietary requirements felt included. The food selection each day was brilliant with a variety of main courses, sides and desserts. Each evening in the hotel had a theme. Across the week we enjoyed dishes with the themes of: carvery, italian, middle-east, far-east, mexican, cypriot and gourmet - which meant that we had something different to choose from each night. Unlike other hotels we have visited, the variety of food each night was refreshing and meant that no meal was the same. My favourite evening personally was mexican! Having visited Mexico on multiple occasions - I can honestly say, the quality was top notch!

If there was nothing that I fancied one night, the chef was more than happy to russle up a gluten free alternative. There was always an option, but sometimes it may not meet your tastes - the chef completely understood this. One day there was battered fish (which contained gluten), so I was unable to eat this. The chef offered to make me a gluten free version, which would be safe. Additionally, on various occasions, I was made fresh gluten-free pasta and sauce. I had both tomato sauce pasta and carbonara dishes. Both were delicious, freshly cooked and flavourful. I was very impressed by the attentiveness of the team. The chef would come and check in, to ensure that I had eaten and that I enjoyed the meals that I was eating. They generally cannot do enough for you.

Every evening, I had gluten free dessert delivered to my table - upon request, which was a lovely touch and made me feel included when everyone was eating these delicious-looking sweets! The restaurant team made me feel at ease and safe when I was eating. A HUGE thank you has to go to Ringos, the operations manager of the hotel, who looked after us from the day we arrived. Anything I wanted, he was able to source. He clearly is passionate about ensuring that everyone has a good stay, and could not do enough for me. He really did make our holiday.

This is the first holiday, in years that I have been on, and not got ill. Despite their being a buffet which is at high risk of cross contamination - I was not ill once, and no reaction to the food. My coeliac disease makes me very sensitive to a range of foods - but, I had no issues at all.

Location We had no issues with the location. 30 mins from the airport, so a nice quick transfer. The hotel offers a free shuttle bus, which goes to a range of places including the beach, the harbour and the local shopping centre. The drivers are friendly, with our driver George giving us a tour of the local area, and telling us all about the history of the area. The harbour is beautiful and definitely worth going for a wander. Additionally, the mall has everything you could possibly want for a browse around! Taxi's are reasonable - we used the bolt app when wanting to get around!

Overall, we could not recommend this hotel enough. If you're after a luxury hotel, which is both relaxing and calm - this is absolutely the place for you! If you're a coeliac or have dietary requirements - you will definitely be looked after. We are already looking to come back!

Arrived at 2am due to a delayed flight to be greeted with chocolates, prosecco and then sandwiches in the room. Great first impression. Our room was clean, modern and fresh. Importantly the air-conditioning was amazing. We used all 3 pools during our stay and would say the Elegancia pool was our favourite. Drinks are brought to your exceptionally comfy sunbed and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were friendly and polite at all times. Yes the hotel is in a residential area but if you just want to relax this is fine. We walked down to the harbour from the hotel in about 15 mins, or there is a minibus available. Evening entertainment is laid back, this is not a party hotel so dont come here of that's your vibe. Would 100% visit again. Special thanks to Maria who helped me with proposal preparations, supplying flowers champagne and chocolate for me to surprise my fiancee with.

Only tiny criticism. Desserts could be labeled better. Sometimes you'd have no idea on the flavour of something before eating it, potentially wasting food. Example, I dont like choc orange. There were, what appeared to be choc truffles, in fact had an orange centre. Just meant this was wasted as the others on my plate didn't get eaten.
