This beachside hotel is on the outskirts of Paphos. Only a five minute drive from the resort's busy harbourside centre, and within easy walking distance of local shops and restaurants, the Louis Ledra Beach has an ideal beach location.
On arrival we were met with drinks and sweet treats which I thought was a lovely touch. Reception staff extremely friendly and helpful. Room was lovely and we had a side view of the sea which was lovely. The restaurant in this hotel is amazing I was spoilt for choice such amazing choice. Especially loved the fresh fruit and yogurts and freshly made danish. We ate at the Italian which was really nice. Pool area is good with lots going on if you want it. The beach isn’t the best as it’s very rocky. I would definitely recommend this hotel
Mixed experienced.
The Pros:
Food & Dining: The food was very impressive and a real highlight of our stay. Lots of variation.
Service: The reception team were incredibly helpful, especially when assisting us with an excellent car hire service.
Facilities & Location: The location is fantastic, right on the beach with complimentary sunbeds. Also a great walk into the harbour.
The Cons:
Noise & Thin Walls: The walls are paper-thin; you can hear entire conversations from adjacent rooms. We were woken up at midnight by new arrivals, and because the walls are so thin, it felt like they were standing in our room. It doesn't help that the doors require slamming to shut, which makes the whole room shake when neighbours return late.
Dated Rooms & Corridors: While the rooms were kept very clean, they are dated, worn, and due for a refurbishment. The corridors feel equally tired and old-fashioned. Doesn’t feel luxurious.
Entertainment: The hotel entertainment felt very low-budget and wasn't particularly engaging or high-quality.
Grounds Maintenance: The outside areas felt unkept. The grass was overgrown in many perimeter spots, and there were several dead patches in others. Compared to the beautifully manicured hotels next door, the greenery here was disappointing. Both large pool and adults had several chips in the slabs.
Staff Consistency: The service was a 50/50 split for us. Some staff were exceptionally friendly, really chatty and kind, while others seemed like they didn't want to be there and lacked a welcoming attitude.
Sunbed Rules: Although there is a rule against reserving sunbeds with towels before 8:00 AM, guests completely ignore it. You still have to get up early to secure a spot. While the hotel suggests asking a lifeguard for help, once the beds are taken, there is very little they can actually do.
Buffet Quirks: At dinner, it was frustrating not being able to self-serve soft drinks, leading to unnecessary waiting. Additionally, there was a noticeable smell of petrol in the buffet dining area which was very off putting (this started half way through our stay).
Great potential, but needs some TLC to feel like a 4 star hotel.
⭐⭐⭐☆☆ Honest Review – Not the 4-Star Experience We Were Expecting
We have just returned from a week’s stay at this hotel and, although we thoroughly enjoyed Cyprus, we came away feeling disappointed with the hotel itself.
Having stayed in several 4-star all-inclusive hotels in Turkey and Morocco over the last few years, this hotel simply doesn’t compare. In our opinion, it is much closer to a 3-star hotel than the 4-star experience advertised by TUI.
I’ll start with the positives.
The hotel enjoys an excellent beachfront location with lovely sea views, and there are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. Paphos Harbour is only a short taxi ride away, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.
The Wi-Fi was excellent throughout our stay, and the air conditioning in our room worked perfectly all week.
The reception area was always clean and tidy, and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. However, despite being well maintained, the reception and lobby now feel quite dated and don’t give the impression of a modern 4-star hotel.
Food & Dining
The dining room itself is pleasant, bright and well laid out, but the dining experience was one of the biggest disappointments of our holiday.
Every meal felt rushed. Staff seemed more interested in getting guests in and out as quickly as possible than allowing people to relax and enjoy their meal. It often felt more like eating in a busy Costa Coffee than a 4-star hotel restaurant.
Whilst some restaurant staff were excellent and worked incredibly hard, others came across as rude and unwelcoming, which unfortunately affected the overall experience.
The food itself became repetitive very quickly. There was normally something to eat, but the choice and quality were nowhere near what we’ve experienced in other 4-star all-inclusive hotels.
If you wanted food outside the main meal times, the options at the pool bar were extremely limited.
Drinks
The all-inclusive drinks package was disappointing.
Only local spirits were available, with no recognised premium brands included. Estrella beer was advertised but wasn’t available during our stay, leaving Keo as the only draft beer option.
Pool Area
The hotel only has one main swimming pool and it isn’t particularly large for the number of guests staying there, so it becomes very busy.
There is also a very small children’s pool and another small pool, but neither really helps reduce the number of people using the main pool.
If you weren’t placing towels on a sunbed before around 7am, your chances of finding one later in the morning were extremely slim. Despite signs asking guests not to reserve sunbeds, this happened every day without any intervention.
The towel system also needs improving. Fresh pool towels were almost always unavailable after around 2pm, meaning we only managed to exchange ours twice during our week’s stay. Many of the towels themselves were frayed and badly worn.
The pool surrounds are beginning to show their age too, with chipped and broken paving slabs in several places that spoil the appearance and could easily become a trip hazard.
Rooms & Housekeeping
Our room itself was comfortable enough, and the air conditioning worked brilliantly.
However, our balcony was covered in bird droppings when we arrived and remained that way for the entire week despite daily housekeeping. It wasn’t cleaned once.
Generally, many parts of the hotel now feel tired and could benefit from refurbishment.
Entertainment
Entertainment was another area where we felt the hotel fell short of its 4-star rating.
The daytime activities were fairly limited and didn’t create much atmosphere around the pool.
The evening entertainment also lacked variety and felt quite low budget compared with other all-inclusive hotels we’ve visited. On several evenings, the atmosphere around the hotel was quiet, with many guests choosing to leave the hotel instead.
TUI Welcome Meeting & Excursions
The TUI welcome meeting lasted around 10 minutes and was almost entirely focused on selling excursions.
The trips on offer were all boat trips, and we were advised that the most expensive option was the best choice because the cheaper excursions involved around 1½ hours each way by coach to and from the harbour.
Whilst this information was useful, it was disappointing that there were no excursions promoted that offered more of a taste of the local Cypriot culture, history or villages. We would have liked to see a wider variety of experiences rather than the focus being almost exclusively on boat trips.
Departure Day
One thing the hotel does well is cater for guests with late flights.
If you wish to keep your room after checkout, this is available for approximately €60, allowing use of the room until 6pm (subject to availability).
We chose not to do this. Instead, the hotel provided us with the use of a courtesy room for 30 minutes, giving us enough time to shower and get changed before travelling home. We found this perfectly adequate and appreciated that this facility was available.
Overall
Cyprus is a beautiful destination and we had a fantastic holiday because of the island, the weather and the location of the hotel.
Unfortunately, the hotel itself didn’t meet our expectations of a 4-star all-inclusive resort.
With improvements to the food quality, dining experience, entertainment, pool towel availability, maintenance around the pool and general refurbishment, this hotel could be much better.
At present, however, we feel it offers a 3-star experience rather than a 4-star one.
Our Ratings
Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (3/5)
We arrived on the 1st of July and we were immediately greeted by the lovely Athena. While we were in reception we were given refreshments while our luggage had been taken to our room. When we arrived at our room it was nice and clean and spacious with a beautiful pool and sea view a good improvement has been from the big old key to key cards for the door entry and now the safe in the room is free of charge. The restaurant was again clean and tidy and it was great to see a lot of the staff from previous stays especially Erodozos and Nikki. The food is of good quality and plenty of it. The pool bars are also very good with polite staff and good service. All a great stay again and we will definitely be back. Thank you team Ledra. I must mention Sandra on reception who booked a table for us at the Periklis Taverna for an excellent meal thank you Sandra.
Fourth visit....greeted by Athena on arrival...lovely lady ..great asset to the hotel.....she makes you feel like you are a friend or relative of hers....the entertainment team headed up by Taurus were really good...shout out to Ilorna who made it enjoyable even though I was rubbish at most activities....food excellent....bar staff top notch(not good for my beer belly)...overall a great holiday....going back in October for number 5.....
