Last day today so time for a review:
Room:
We stayed on 6th floor with deluxe seaview room- really pleased we chose this, spectacular sunsets, lovely to be able to lay on the bed with aircon on and still able to see the sea. Room very clean, although we did have a little roachy visitor in the wardrobe at one point. Shampoo and showergel attached to the wall of shower, plus some small bottles of conditioner and body lotion by the sink. Also a dental set, vanity set and sewing kit incase you need it.
Bed was super comfy, british style sockets, need to ask at reception for an adapter for the kettle/ coffee machine as thats a european style plug.
Food:
We were happy with the food, although have stayed at other hotels with more variety. We only ate in the Greek restaurant, which we found ok, but we spent most of the meal waiting for a drink. We tried to book the italian but was full for the days we could go so make sure to book as soon as you arrive.
Breakfast was good - fresh omlettes, plenty of different style eggs, usual bacon, sausages, waffles, pancakes, hashbrowns, croissants, cereals etc. Plenty to choose from.
Cold coffees and smoothies are available from the two bars outside the restaurant too.
Lunch/ snack bar: Really good, quick and a good selection of options. Pizza and pasta cooked fresh inside the italian restaurant too.
Dinner/ Tea: Some nights better than others, but a good selection again. Different themes each evening.
Sunloungers / Pool / Beach area:
With deluxe we could reserve sunloungers but never needed to, didn’t matter which time of the day we came down we managed to find two together. Also if reserving sunloungers they are only reserved until 12 and then anyone can use them. We did see one lady put towels on sunloungers yesterday at 11am and when we left at 6pm she still hadn’t sat on them once.
We preferred sitting on the grass area at the front by the path as it was a short distance to the sea and the pool. Recommend bringing shoes to walk on the sand to get into the sea as it’s boiling this time of year, and the same on the tiled areas around the pool.
We also found there was more of a breeze on the grass than around by the pool.
We also had access to the 6th floor lounge which had some lovely snacks and a good warm selection of food throughout the day.
Entertainment:
We only really seen snippets, it wasn’t the best, but it was something, and I can see how it would be hard to cater for such a wide variation of ages so background music with the odd dancer makes sense. A lot of people sat playing cards or board games.
Service:
Has been fabulous throughout. We booked a late check out through tui so I went to ask reception on Thursday what time this was, and initially the receptionist said it was not on my booking, within 5 mins she had found it and said it was fine not to worry. Bar staff are friendly and funny, very good at what they do. Restaurant staff don’t engage as much as other hotels I have stayed in but are quick at turning tables around so you are never left waiting to find one.
Facilities:
Shop on site, sells most things you need, otherwise 2 minute walk across the road to a bigger supermarket.
Gym
Spa - I had my hair done in the salon for the wedding I was attending and they did a wonderful job, stayed in all day.
Watersports
Situated right at the back of the hotel on the beach, jet ski’s, parasailing, boats and much more. Perfect location if that’s your thing!
Excursions:
We booked the wave dancer sunset and firework cruise before we came and we are so glad we did, it was a brilliant night, best entertainment we have seen, food was delicious as were the cocktails. It is run with absolute precision, clearly very well designed and we felt it was one of the best trips we have had on a holiday.
Friends of ours also did the day time cruise and said that was just as good.
Akamas 5 hour Buggy tour:
We did this yesterday, it was so much fun, very hot and dusty but we seen things we wouldn’t have otherwise. Recommend a buggy over a quad! Views to die for, food was fantastic, and doing a bit of offroad touring was brilliant.
Highly recommend booking both before you arrive as they book up fast this time of year.
Transport:
The walk to the harbour from the hotel is a good 30-40minute walk and it has been hot and humid here this week so we chose to use the 611 bus for the waterpark to get there and back costing us €2 each and taking no longer than 10 minutes.
Our first trip down we walked and then got a taxi back - taxi’s don’t appear to have meters in and price is made up on the spot, we couldn’t justify €15 to the harbour or back each time so were pleased to find the buses run well- just use google to find times etc as it will tell you if they are delayed.
Overall, we have had a wonderful week, childfree, and would recommend the hotel and local area to others.
Fantastic stay at Leonardo Plaza Cypria Maris Beach Hotel & Spa 🌴☀️
We’ve just returned from a fantastic stay at the Leonardo Plaza Cypria Maris Beach Hotel & Spa and absolutely loved it!
Our swim-up room was perfect. Having our own sunbeds right outside was such a luxury and made relaxing by the pool so easy. The room was very clean, cleaned daily and had everything we needed. The food was lovely, with plenty of choice and a great selection, so there was always something different to enjoy.
All of the staff were really friendly and welcoming, but two people in particular really stood out to us. Kevin in the Erato Club Bar was fantastic. He always made sure we were comfortable, had a friendly chat with us and was so attentive. He really made us feel welcome and helped make our evenings even more enjoyable. We also have to mention Theo, who was always very polite and friendly. We absolutely loved his dancing on the bar — he certainly knows how to entertain! 😂🍹
The entertainment was okay, and we loved the overall atmosphere of the hotel. During the day it was lovely and relaxing, while the evenings became much livelier, especially in the nightclub, which gave the hotel a great balance.
We particularly loved that it was adults only, which made it feel so peaceful and relaxing during the day, while still having plenty going on in the evenings.
Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and would definitely return again. A lovely hotel, friendly staff, great food and the perfect swim-up room — what more could you ask for? ❤️🌴
Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to return!
I was wary after I had booked this having seen some negative reviews but I thought the hotel was lovely, staff were so friendly, food was good (especially the hash browns in the morning and desserts) and it was very clean. There are different bands for all inclusive which we didn’t understand but we had standard (yellow) and it was good for us. Local spirits and a sea view room which was stunning. We couldn’t reserve sunbeds but you didn’t need to even in August, there were plenty. We sat on the grass at the front by the sea and it was perfect. Not far for a dip in the sea or just a short walk to the pool / pool bar. We took water bottles with us and filled them up at the stations and asked for ice. You don’t get bottled water with standard AI. The only downside for us personally was the wine, not for us sadly. But that is because we are fussy wine drinkers. We didn’t see much of the entertainment as we were out mostly in the evenings. My friend used the hairdresser and whilst it looked nice it took well over an hour and she has short hair and had washed it beforehand. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again and will most probably be back. Oh just one more thing….Maria! What a ray of sunshine she is. You will meet her when you get your pool towel. She is a delight.
This was our 2nd time returning to the hotel. We had a wedding in Coral Bay. Due to our last holiday here, 4 years ago, we returned here again for 1 week. My partner and I paid for deluxe with a sea view room back in October. We did this due to hoping it was our last holiday as the 2 of us. I visited the hotel when I was 23 weeks pregnant and the reserved sunbeds, did come in handy. There were plenty of beds available though. Room was spotlessly clean with a welcome back sign and bottle of bubbly and balloons. Staff were very kind, attentive and friendly. They helped organise us cabs when we needed to get to different places. We went into the shopping centre one day. The location of the hotel means you can get on the bus a few minutes walk away right there. Our only real negatives, but this is being picky is that people need to be made aware at check in about the reserved sunbeds or make it clearer. Twice our beds were taken, and we felt very guilty about having to move. Maria was very very helpful and when this happened, she always solved the problem. We tried to book the restaurants via the screen, but they kept saying to enter a valid room number. It is frustrating when you want to get this booked as soon as possible. We went to the customer helpdesk and they did solve this problem. A special mention to Carlos who worked in the Italian. Please send our thanks to ALL of the staff!
Fantastic hotel, amazing food and staff nothing was too much trouble, sensational view from my room, breathtaking, pool area superb beds in water are a must for a good tan, tip get up early to secure sunbed
