We arrived in the afternoon, and the first thing I noticed was that there wasn't a ramp outside the hotel to bring the luggage in. I made my dissatisfaction known to the receptionist who asked a male staff member to bring our luggage to the room. However there were numerous steps and not many handrails throughout the hotel, which seriously need to be addressed, as it is a discrimination to elderly, disabled and families with pushchairs.
The hotel is in an excellent position being a 5 minute walk to the seafront and harbour, with all its bars, restaurants, shops and ice cream parlours. There are also some excellent restaurants and bars opposite the hotel.
The pool area with its sun terraces is a good enough size, and the pool water was a lovely temperature. The ladies often used to gather by the pool edge for a chat. There a waiters who constantly come around to see if you would like any refreshments, for a reasonable price, and there is a cafe called The Place Royal, which does an excellent menu for either lunch or dinner, again at a reasonable price and with good portion sizes, as do all the restaurants in Paphos.
Our bedroom was a good size, we had a deluxe room, which came with robes, slippers, fruit, wine and water. We had quite a long balcony, which was equipped with a table and chairs, but not an airer for your wet things. The air con and fan were excellent, and a welcome relief to the heat outside. There was adequate storage and the beds were very comfortable. Cyprus has the same plugs as us, so no need to bring adaptors. The bathroom was quite small, but adequate.
The lifts were pretty small, 3 people and it was crowded. The gardens and paths are pretty, but the walkways are quite uneven, so you need to have your wits about you.
Breakfast in the morning is basic, some cooked options, rolls and pastries, fruits, cereals, cheese, ham etc. The waiters and waitresses are very nice and polite, and work hard. All in all a good holiday, apart from the steps.
Just got back from another fantastic holiday at this hotel. The staff are friendly and really helpful. The breakfast has a great choice and really tasty. La Place Royale next door serves a great selection of meals with equally friendly staff. We have been to this hotel several times and each one does not disappoint. Clean, comfortable rooms, fantastic location, what more could you want. Definitely will be going back.
We have recently returned from a two week stay in this lovely hotel, it is our second visit & we have already booked to return later in the year, last time we had a room over looking Flintstones bar & although the room didn’t have as much storage we loved it & the noise didn’t bother us at all, this time we were in one of the annex rooms & although there was lots of storage & it appeared a bigger room we were not so keen on the amount of stairs, at our age we found it a little hard on the legs. The hotel is very clean & comfortable, all the staff are lovely, friendly & helpful especially Viorel & all the staff in the Royal Lounge bar, we had several meals here & it was all delicious. We went bed & the breakfast which was also very nice too, the location of the hotel is perfect being near to bars & not to far away from the harbour, we didn’t have a problem finding a sun bed but we are early risers. Thanks to everyone for looking after us so well & making it such a lovely holiday. 😎
Currently at this hotel. We booked a deluxe room with a balcony. Our room is nice but the balcony y is unusable. Very disappointed. I asked to move rooms at reception and was told no because they are fully booked - which is a blatant lie as I can still book a deluxe room room on the TUI app for the rest of our stay !!!!!! Water from the shower dials the bathroom floor and entrance to our room - very dangerous. It’s a shame as the room is modern and the hotel is nice enough but very disappointed
We stay at the Dionysos at least once a year and have done for the last few years as we are regular visitors to Cyprus. This hotel is ideally located near to Paphos harbour, bars and shops so great if you do not wish to hire a car for your holiday as most things are within walking distance. It has been here many years and has a traditional feel however the rooms add a more modern touch so the best of both worlds. It is great value for money as the location is excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are kept lovely and clean. There are steps to the front of the property and a few steps within the hotel but staff are always on hand to assist if needed as we have seen them help other guests. We prefer the main building overall as there is also an annexe building at the rear of hotel. The main bar street in Paphos is at the rear of the property and there is a bar at the side so you may hear some music at times but this was not something that has ever bothered us. We will see you again next year :)
