Lovely 5 star hotel with amazingly friendly helpful staff. Kids club was fantastic for our 4 & 6yr old boys, one of the pools is covered for the kids so no worries about them burning. The food is definitely a huge step above any other full board hotel I’ve ever been too, we rated it extremely highly. Lots of different restaurants to choose from and their sister hotel, Annabelle, next door is great to visit, swim, eat, for a change. I can’t rate the hotel, staff, amenities and friendliness any higher. The kids loved the buffet for dinner. All in all we shall definitely be coming back to The Almyra!!
I have been coming to Almyra for 20 years, ever since it first opened, and it is always a pleasure to return. After all these years, it remains one of those special places that continues to feel unique.
What makes Almyra stand out for me is, above all, the people. The staff are warm, welcoming and genuinely attentive, creating an atmosphere that makes you feel at home while still enjoying a sophisticated hotel experience.
The vibe is exceptional — relaxed, stylish and effortlessly cool. The beautiful landscape, the incredible amount of greenery and the fantastic pools create a wonderful Mediterranean oasis overlooking the sea.
I also love the minimal and contemporary design of Almyra. It has a timeless quality that feels modern without trying too hard, and it blends beautifully with the surrounding landscape.
The food is consistently excellent, with great quality and presentation, making every stay even more enjoyable.
After two decades of visiting Almyra, I can honestly say that it still has that special feeling that brings me back again and again.
A very special thank you to the Hotel Manager, Mr Demetris Kiprakis, for his personal involvement and genuine commitment to making guests feel welcome and ensuring that every detail is taken care of. His personal touch truly makes a difference.
20 years later, Almyra still feels special. That says everything.
Fantastic hotel, the staff are a significant part of why it’s great. By the pool, Notios for lunch to the bar in the foyer - amazing service. Plenty of room by pool and always spare sunbeds. Most people do not do the 7am bed saving, so that’s a benefit! Great for family’s or adults.
We had a ok stay at Almyra, and the doormen deserve a special mention. They were extremely friendly, welcoming and polite, and always made us feel looked after when arriving and leaving the hotel.
Unfortunately, we found that the overall attitude of some of the other staff was quite different. At times, staff came across as quite harsh and not particularly welcoming, especially towards children. For a family-friendly hotel, we would have expected a warmer, more patient and accommodating approach towards families and young children.
We were also surprised that the kids’ club costs €45. Considering that nearby five-star hotels such as Four Seasons and Elysium offer their kids’ clubs without this additional charge, we felt the €45 fee was quite expensive and should be reconsidered, particularly for families staying at the hotel.
The reception area could also do with some attention. It felt quite messy at times, with furniture and other items lying around, which takes away from the first impression and overall appearance of the hotel. The key cards could also be redesigned to be larger and easier to keep track of, as the current small cards are very easy to lose.
The hotel rooms and common areas could also benefit from diffusers or a subtle, pleasant signature scent. This would make the hotel feel fresher, more welcoming and more premium.
We also felt that the grass areas and small trees along the pathway leading towards the smaller villas could be redesigned or removed to make better use of the available space. This area could potentially be used for something that adds more value for families, such as an additional swimming pool, a larger kitchen and dining area, or even an indoor pool specifically for children. An indoor kids’ pool would be particularly useful and would give families another option when the weather is not ideal.
The pool area would also benefit from some atmosphere and background music. Some relaxed chill-out or jazz music during the day would create a much nicer and more sophisticated poolside environment.
The buffet was another area that could be improved. We found the food quite bland at times, and there seemed to be a lot of repetition, with similar dishes being served every night. It would be much more enjoyable if the hotel alternated different cuisines throughout the week—for example, Italian, Asian, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern nights. A dedicated Greek night would also be a great addition and would give guests the opportunity to experience more local cuisine.
We also felt that the prices for lunch at Notis, as well as at the beach restaurant and bar, were very expensive. The pricing could be reviewed to offer better value for money, particularly for families who may be eating at these venues regularly during their stay.
This was our second time staying at Almyra, which makes the experience particularly disappointing. We had hoped to see improvements since our previous visit, but unfortunately, we felt that the hotel did not meet the standard we expected this time. While there are still some lovely aspects, particularly the doormen and the setting, overall we would not choose to return again.
There is certainly potential for Almyra to improve, but the hotel needs to focus more on creating a genuinely warm, welcoming and child-friendly experience, as well as improving the facilities, food variety, atmosphere and overall value for money.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and professional. The room was beautiful and very comfortable, with excellent attention to detail. A special thank you to the entire team for making our experience so enjoyable and memorable. We would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning!
