Lovely staff and hotel . We stayed here last May and thought we’d come back . We had a side sea veiw room which was extra . I emailed the hotel numerous times when we booked asking for a room on the top floor sadly it was ignored and the room was on the ground floor looking out onto the main road. Which did spoil a mostly enjoyable stay.
Location is excellent walking distance to harbour etc. soon as you arrive and walk into the reception you feel totally relaxed …until they allocate you a room that is totally the opposite to the one you requested we have been coming to this hotel for 25 plus years and always seem to have a problem when it comes to a room request we don’t expect preferential treatment but we have shown a lot of loyalty to this hotel and spend a lot of money in the hotel . unlike the review I read from a couple who stayed here last year for the first time and requested the same room for this year which they got. We eventually got it sorted thanks to Elena and Flawia. Food was a bit hit and miss as a lot of the time the food was only lukewarm warm . Staff are all very accommodating special mention to Joanna pool bar she was so alert and quick to serve. She needs to be promoted to pool bar manager . Rooms are kept extremely clean but could do with a face lift and maybe fitted with walk in showers seen as a lot of your repeat guests or elderly. Although the few negatives we will be returning next year along with all our friends from this year
Honest review
We had a nice time at the Alexander but for the first time in over 10 years we couldn’t give full marks because we found the Food 🥘 was lukewarm at the best of times breakfast especially which caused us to Eat out Twice for Breakfast and Dinner it alright if you just had EGGS 🥚
But saying that the Food 🥘 was very Tasty I know us Brits like hot food I am sure they could have done something about it
EG. a Microwave I did mention these points to the Restaurant Staff and Guest Relations
We also felt that the hotel had lost some of its Atmosphere don’t know why can’t put our finger on it
Now for the Good Points When we arrived we were met by the Porter who took all our luggage he also remembered us from our previous visits We were taken back by how many of the Great Staff that remembered us which made us feel very special Special mention to Gregarious and Joana at the pool bar which is very nice and relaxed Xenia Marina Aphrodite Illeana Also Maria and Hristos at the Alexander bar who kept us entertained Like I said we had a nice time at the hotel and we probably return in about 2 Years we will keep a eye on things on Trip Advisor
Our 5th visit to the Alexander the Great and the high standards have been maintained. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. The food and rooms are excellent and the hotel is well situated for exploring the town of Paphos.
Staff, hotel, location 100% a must for putting on your options list, we can name a few staff but they are all dedicated to the job and work as a team helping out wherever required, we shall be returning in 2027.
