Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Stayed for 13 nights in a ground floor room to side of hotel. Nice and quiet. Very good apartment. Spacious bedroom and lounge/kitchenette. Well stocked kitchen, TV with many channels and very good WiFi throughout hotel. Nice pool area, excellent maid service, ample parking for hire cars. Breakfast was a good choice and the staff at the pool bar were all excellent. However, we were unfortunate to get freak bad weather in our second week and a lot of rain. Due to a very poor design of the pool bar area (where breakfast is taken), rain poured through and soaked tables and diners alike. Not just a few drips - it was sodden. So we missed breakfast one day as it was impossible to sit anywhere. That roof really needs making rainproof. Consequently breakfast was moved inside to the Reception area the next day which was very cramped and uncomfortable. For the price paid the hotel really needs to ensure they have a dry and functioning breakfast and bar area. That’s my only criticism. Also - bathrooms are tiny and there is literally NOWHERE to store any toiletries. No shelves or surfaces whatsoever making the bathroom very impractical. Otherwise the accommodation is very good.
We had an amazing stay at Helios, it is perfect. The room was fab and the people so friendly, we will defo be back.
I stayed here for 11 nights in September. It was a lovely place, location was superb literally on the beach . There were always sunbeds free no matter the time of day, all staff were vey friendly I never found the rude blonde lady that other reviewers talked about, everyone was polite and helpful. The rooms were very basic. It had everything you could need. They were cleaned daily and the maid was polite and would clean around when you were up and out. There was a gym also basic but functional, a laundrette , a bar. Breakfast was adequate and snacks were also. Reasonably priced too. There is a pool table and a table tennis table. There are not many shops or bars close by you need to get the bus across the road, the bus drivers are extremely angry. There is no entertainment in the hotel and the music around the pool can barely be heard, many of the guests were repeated guests. There is a beach bar on the beach which had music at night time. There were talks of building work taking place with another floor and lift being added and an additional pool. Not sure when they plan to do this though. All in all a lovely place very peaceful if you’re looking for that kind of thing. I think it could benefit from some low key entertainment for those nights when you don’t want to be riding about on a bus .
This hotel is run by a very friendly family. They were accommodating, and you felt they cared the whole two weeks.
The hotel was clean and the rooms were cleaned six days of the week with towels (only) changed on Sundays. The maids did a good job. Breakfast was excellent and the poolside bar staff were happy and friendly. Drinks and food were of good value.
All family members on reception were very friendly and no question was not answered with knowledge of the island clear and concise. Another plus if you like Indian food then pompadoms restaurant across the road to the hotel entrance was excellent.
We stayed at Helios Bay Hotel for two nights and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel is a little older and could definitely benefit from some renovation and modernization, especially in the rooms, but everything was very clean and well maintained.
The location is excellent, and the surrounding area is perfect for enjoying the sea and exploring Paphos. Our room was comfortable enough for a short stay, and the cleanliness really stood out.
The reception staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
One thing to keep in mind is that there is no elevator in the hotel, so guests should be prepared to use the stairs. This is especially important if you are travelling with large or heavy luggage, as carrying it up and down the stairs can be difficult.
Overall, a nice choice if you’re looking for a clean, well-located hotel with friendly service. With some renovation, it could be even better! 🌊☀️
