We stayed here for 2 weeks at the start of August with 20 friends as we were getting married. The hotel was fantastic. Great location and staff looked after us well.the entertainment team were great with the kids and would get in the pool and play catch with them. The food was great and there was always the snack bar too which had lots on offer. The rooms were a great size for a family of 4 and always well cleaned. We will all be returning to this hotel nestor t year.
We arrived on 26th July the hotel was very nice and clean but a little bit regimented and we had room 2303 on the 3rd floor and the beds in the room my daughter and myself had to sleep on were uncomfortable and the music was blasting till 3 am from the bar outside right next to our room.Every morning most of the sunbeds were taken from about 7 30 am with people putting there towels on reserving beds even though me and my daughter were told this was not aloud till 9 am and i got the impression with the life guards it was one rule for the British and different rules for the non British people example of this i witnessed the life guard telling one British man there was no jumping by children in the pool but allowing non British children to do whatever they wanted and there is a very obvious bias against the British. The snack bar is very average sandwiches are not fresh and no real choice of snacks like sausage rolls or cakes. The atmosphere around the pool is boring and no music and the animation team are non existent and no interaction like having pool competitions and asking people if they want to play water polo or water volleyball and it appeared there was no structure and the same people always playing. The entertainment was okay but nothing special and most times it was difficult to get a good seat. The bar staff were amazing and always served you very quickly and always joking and was the highlight of the holiday for myself and the cleaners were very polite and do a fantastic job and also the waiters in the restaurant did a great job.The spa is very average and the cost of the treatments seemed very expensive and the staff appeared miserable. I have been to Cyprus on a number of occasions in Pathos and Coral Bay and loved it and found Protaras very noisy and over commercial and felt it was more like Benidorm. Overall i felt it was a disappointing holiday and feel Protaras is not a part of Cyprus i will be coming back to in the future.
Great hotel, Great people in the bar ☺️
Brilliant hotel, very clean, towels changed daily (pool towels every two days) room cleaned every day. Food was very good, but could be made better for gluten free/allergies. My son is coeliac and they did provide gf mini muffins if asked, and bread but no seperate roaster so the main toaster had to be cleaned. Could make pizza and pasta if asked but also stuff labels wrong, a tuna pasta was labels GF but I could tell it wasn’t so I asked and it had be labels wrong. It didn’t give me much confidence with the other meals then with gravy etc. could do with a seperate gf station for toaster, cereals bread etc but overall the hotel was brilliant
Currently have 2 days left here, blunt man of the world with 3 children. Would return in a heartbeat, staff are top notch especially the restaurant man who greets you with his positive, polite amazing attitude, bar staff 10/10, but all staff are extremely polite happy and positive. Food is very good, not a single bad meal or struggle for options even with fussy kids. Incredibly clean across the entire hotel and pool area. Entertainment is more than satisfactory. Only advisory I have coming from a positive point is I feel you could get more sun beds around the pool area if thought out a tad more, saying that its August, peak season and very busy. Music can be heard from front strip but what can be done about that so it is what it is. The pro's outnumber what are not even cons all day long. If you dont enjoy yourself here its surely extremely bad luck. Thank you Vangelis Hotel, and THANK YOU TO YOUR STAFF.
