We’ve just returned from a week’s stay as a family of four (2 adults, 2 children). Unfortunately, our experience was very mixed, with some great elements but also several issues that affected our holiday.
Arrival & First Impressions: We arrived around midnight and were given our room key and some sandwiches, but only a very vague idea of where our room was located. When we eventually found it, we discovered it hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guests, and the power was cutting out every 10 seconds. We returned to reception and were, eventually, placed in a temporary room for the night — one double bed and a pull‑out twin setup for all four of us.
Rooms: The next day we were moved to our third room, on the top floor of the main block. Initially it seemed great, but we soon realised it overlooked private villas, one of which hosted a group of around nine adults playing loud music and staying up until about 1am each night.
The room itself was okay but definitely in need of maintenance. Our shower didn’t drain properly, flooding the bathroom each time we used it. The phone cable pushed further into the wall and didn’t work at all.
Wi‑Fi: Wi‑Fi is available throughout the hotel, but it does suffer occasional dropouts. Fine for basic use, but not consistently reliable.
Cleanliness & Housekeeping: Cleaning was regular and generally adequate, though sand seemed to remain on the floor throughout our stay. On Day 5, no fresh towels were delivered, so we had to use our beach towels. The following day we received only two new towels, and when I asked for more, reception called housekeeping — the staff were giggling as they anticipated the response — and we were told there were simply no more towels available.
Noise & Atmosphere: Day 5 was when things really went downhill. A couple of large family groups arrived whose idea of fun seemed to be drinking, arguing, and fighting. We saw a water polo match abandoned after a fight broke out, and witnessed two adults arguing at the kids’ slides.
A boy of around 12 even told my 8‑year‑old daughter that her name was a “s*** girls name” while in the pool — not exactly the family‑friendly environment we’d hoped for.
Food & Drink: The food was genuinely great, with a wide selection every day. Food is available in some form throughout the day and various locations. Food was always hot, tasty and in plentiful supply. A tip: you can book the Italian restaurant on site as part of the all‑inclusive package — don’t panic when you see prices on the menu; it’s included (inc. drinks)
Drinks were also very good. The cocktails were made with fresh ingredients rather than syrups, which is always a sign of care.
Staff: The staff were one of the highlights. The bar manager and bar staff worked hard and always had a smile on their faces. The entertainment team were friendly, engaging, and respectful — they were happy to take “no thank you” as an answer when inviting guests to join pool activities. A genuinely good team.
Pools, Slides & Sunbeds: The pool area is small and can feel claustrophobic, especially when adults are drinking heavily. Sunbeds are tightly packed and extremely limited — expect “sunbed wars”. You’ll need to be up around 06:30 to secure a spot.
The water slides are great for both kids and adults. Lifeguards are very attentive (sometimes overly so), but I’d rather that than the opposite.
Entertainment: Hit and miss. The kids’ club lasts around 30 minutes, and the evening entertainment varies — some nights were great, others not so much.
Location: Almost perfect. There are two bus stops right outside the hotel. Whether heading to Ayia Napa or Protaras, it’s €6 for two adults and two kids. Buses run every 15 minutes but can get very busy. Tip: you don’t need to tell the driver your destination — the price is the same.
If the evening entertainment isn’t your thing, Protaras is a short bus ride away and has plenty of options.
Beaches: The beaches are lovely. It’s about a 10‑minute walk to Nisia Loumbardi Beach or Green Bay Beach. Both are beautiful, and two sunbeds plus an umbrella cost €10 for the day — we were able to get a spot at around 08:30. Ayia Napa’s Nissi Beach is also worth the trip. Tip: paddle boats with slides are €30 per hour and great fun.
Value for Money: Probably just about right for the experience. Some great elements, but also several issues that held the holiday back.
