Where to start! Towels only changed twice a week Coffee cups and glasses not washed ever whilst we were there. We queried this and were told maids were not there to wash our crockery! Cleaning of room non existent. We made the bed better than they did. Floors were dirty all the time, bathroom was never cleaned properly. The freezer part of the fridge was all iced up so we’re unable to use. No shower gel replenishment after first day. No air conditioning or lights in the corridor, so very hot and very dark. Terrible choice of fruit at breakfast, just two types of melon, fruit cocktail and plain Greek yoghurt. No banana, pineapple or any other fruit. Just a note about the pool, it’s 1.5M all the way along. No shallow end at all. I’ve never posted on Trip Advisor before but feel the need to let people know what this hotel is like. Worst 3 star hotel we’ve ever stayed in.
Good points: apart from one receptionist, all the front of house staff were lovely and very helpful and so were the breakfast staff.
Very disappointed
Stayed at The Melini Suites , Protaras , Cyprus , my first time visiting the country and was recommended this hotel , it was central to everything , the perfect place to be , rooms were immaculate , cleaning service everyday , food is delicious , the pool area was nice and relaxing and well Maintained and last but certainly not the least , all the lovely people that run it and work there are amazing and can’t do enough for you , a very friendly and inviting atmosphere…. Will definitely be returning , worth every penny.
Arrived at Melini Hotel on 12th August at about 5pm, 3rd time in Cyprus but 1st time at Melini and we were not disappointed, the best place we have stayed in Cyprus. We were there as a big family about 20 of us arrived. Quick check in, we had a 1 bedroom apartment Room 212, we requested a sea view before we arrived and had a lovely view, for 2 adults and 2 17 year olds and we could not fault it. The place was massive and ample storage for clothing, 2 seperate double settee beds in sitting room and a double in the bedroom. 2 air conditioning units 1 in each room. Very nice bathroom, only problem was the shower took a long time to drain the water. Rooms are very modern and the balcony was huge. You can get out to the balcony from the sitting room and also the bedroom. Rooms were cleaned 5 out of 7 days and all the staff were fantastic. Other guests round the hotel very friendly to. We went self catering but you can only do either B and B or half board now. We did eat breakfast a couple of times it was a buffet breakfast and you could pay 10 Euro for this. No complaints at all, very clean, all the staff very friendly. The location of this place is amazing, right in the middle of the strip just behind Rockafellas pub. Plenty of restaurants and pubs straight outside. If you visit Cyprus a must is The Stardust show, we had a fab night here and would highly recommend it, it was well worth the money. Thank you for a fantastic holiday, we will be back.
Wouldn’t stay here again , not very clean at all . Rooms very basic didn’t get clean towels every day , had to pay extra for clean towels .Stairs had a bad smell of smoke , dirty bedding left at bottom of stairs .
This hotel is lovely, the location is spot on - right in the middle of the strip.
Rooms are clean and comfy, others have commented that beds are hard but we found the bed to be great. The sofa bed that our teens slept on was a bit hard so maybe worth asking for additional mattress toppers.
Sunbeds cannot be accessed until 8am which in the first few days for us there was no problem getting some. Unfortunately a large group arrived mid way through the week and took over a huge area, often reserving beds and either not using them until after lunch or not at all. They also went early for beds which meant at 8am none were available. If you like to be in the sun then try to get beds at the back, near the wall that backs on to the street or you’ll be in shade from around 2.30pm.
Rooms are well furnished with all you need, however if there are 4 adults or 2 adults and teens then it would be good to have some drawers as there isn’t a lot of storage.
Only complaint I would have is the lack of air con in reception and in the corridors. The poor staff have to work in reception with no air con and when waiting for transfers the customers sweat too - please please managers, switch it on!
