This unique resort complex is situated right on the coast and surrounded by beautiful and expansive landscaped gardens. The area is fantastic for diving, and the resort has its own scuba diving school. Guests can relax on the sun terrace by the impressive outdoor swimming pool, swim in the exotic indoor swimming pool cave, enjoy a massage in the spa with sauna, Jacuzzi and steam bath, or play a game of squash, tennis, or beach volleyball. There is also a children's playground, a gym and a games room onsite for added entertainment and convenience. The resort provides double rooms and spacious one-bedroom suites, allowing room for families to stretch out and unwind. Each suite includes a comfortable lounge, en suite bathroom, fully-equipped kitchen with dining table, and a large balcony. Guests will delight in the rich and varied buffet breakfast in the hotel restaurant and can sip a drink at the poolside bar. The perfect place for a laidback Mediterranean holiday.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Guest Feedback Report – Malama Beach Resort
Overall Impression
We have enjoyed staying at Malama Beach Resort over the years (actually since 2003), which makes the recent changes particularly noticeable. While the resort still benefits from a friendly and service-oriented staff several aspects of the guest experience appear to have declined compared with previous years and previous management.
Facilities and Activities
The indoor swimming pool is present, but during our stay it was empty and therefore unavailable for guests. This is disappointing, particularly when the pool is advertised as one of the resort’s facilities.
There are also far fewer organised activities than in previous years. Activities such as boccia, darts, beach volleyball, table tennis archery and other games used to contribute significantly to the atmosphere and enjoyment of the resort. Their limited availability now makes the resort feel noticeably quieter and less engaging.
Beach Bar and Entertainment
The music at the beach bar after 17:00 has been particularly disappointing. In previous years, the music created a much more enjoyable and lively atmosphere, with good songs that helped guests relax, socialise and enjoy the afternoon. This year, the atmosphere post 17:00 is much calmer and the music selection (especially the advertisements cutting in!) does not provide the same energy or entertainment(somehow disappointing).
The 23:00 bar closing time is another significant change. Previously, guests could continue enjoying drinks at the bar well past midnight, which contributed to the relaxed holiday atmosphere and allowed guests to continue socialising after dinner. The earlier closing time has noticeably reduced the evening experience.
Management and Guest Interaction
Above all, it is important to recognise that the resort staff (all staff from reservations, reception all the way to restaurants, bars, towels , cleaning etc.) remain very friendly, helpful and service-oriented. Their positive attitude is appreciated and is one of the strengths of the resort.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the new management. Compared with previous years, the current management appears much more distant from guests and does not seem to engage with them in the same warm and approachable manner.
Previously, management would regularly join guests for a drink, interact with them and share in the afternoon atmosphere. This created a genuine sense of community and made guests feel personally welcomed and valued. That personal connection seems to be missing under the new management.
Conclusion
Malama Beach Resort still has many positive qualities, particularly its friendly staff and beautiful setting. However, compared with previous years, there has been a noticeable reduction in entertainment, organised activities, bar opening hours and the overall social atmosphere.
We sincerely hope that management will take this feedback constructively and consider restoring some of the activities, entertainment and longer bar hours that previously made the resort such an enjoyable and lively holiday destination.
Most importantly, we would encourage the new management to reconnect with guests on a more personal level. The warmth and presence demonstrated by previous management were an important part of what made Malama special, and restoring that sense of hospitality could make a significant difference to the overall guest experience.
Noisy and very overcrowded, kids are screaming 8 hours a day.
Rooms are very nice though however the vicinity outside the hotel is dirty and Terrible
It was so difficult to leave. I had an amazing time, joining my family flying from different country. Resort and location is incredible. From reception(helping anytime, especialy when i lost my room card 😅)to bar...everyone was super friendly and respectful. I could have not wish for better experience and company,including other guests that made eachother feel like a part of a family. Food always tasty with so much variety and live cooking, staff at restaurant also very friendly. I will keep this place dear to my heart and will come back as soon as its possible. ❤️
Located about a 10 min drive from Pratarus, this hotel offered good clean basic accommodation.
We arrived late in the evening with a quick check in process. The night porter told us he was too busy to direct us to our room which wasn't a great first impression. The room was tucked away in dark area up 2 flights of stairs, and quite hard to find.
We opted for a suite, which gave us a good sized lounge, bedroom & bathroom. Small kitchen area with 2 ring hob, microwave and fridge. Also a small patio area. Perfect for our week long stay. Rooms were cleaned 6 days per week.
Breakfast was good.plenty of selection. We ate a few times in the Sea View restaurant, portions were very big, and food was excellent. Day time bar staff were great. Very friendly.
Sunbeds we're allocated on day 1 by pool staff. Lots of fixed umbrellas and we had to constantly chase the sun to catch the rays. Row after row of sun loungers all heavily shaded. There was a lovely little public beach by the hotel which did offer day long sun if required.
Family hotel, with lots of well behaved young children. Families with children were assigned sun loungers by the pool, whilst adult only parties were assigned sun loungers nearer the bar area.
If you're after the nightlife of Pratarus or Ayia Napa this isn't the hotel for you.
Great hotel, very nice and friendly staff. Very clean, in the room, restaurant, and at the pool. Food very good and lots of choices. Special for famelies with children a must go.
