Ideally situated in the heart of Protaras, the Kapetanios Bay Hotel is just 5 minutes walk from the fabulous white sands of Fig Tree Bay, often considered to be the best beach in Cyprus. The hotel prides itself on its relaxed informal atmosphere and enjoys a central location with a selection of tavernas and bars practically on your doorstep. The pool bar offers snacks and if you wish to enjoy a cocktail in the sun there are plenty to choose from.
Staff are great, very friendly and helpful, especially reception staff, we were in a Superior deluxe room which was lovely, plenty of storage space, very clean and comfortable beds, the hotel is in a great location near to lots of bars, restaurants and entertainment, only one thing really to complain about, the sun bed situation, if you do not go and put a towel on a sun bed after 5am you have zero chance of getting one, people come from other hotels and save sun beds to come back later, we watched people leaving towels on sun beds and came back 8 hours later, one day we could not get a sun bed at all, staff do nothing about this, I think the solution would be to number the sun beds and allocate them to your room on arrival, this is I think is the only way for paying guests to get a sun bed, the pool area is very big, so you could very easily move your allocated sun bed to shade or sun, we will not be returning to this hotel solely because of the sun bed problems, I also spoke to other guests who said they would not return for this reason too! Management need to sort this out or they will lose guests
We just come back week ago. Well coukdnt fault the hotel st all it was one of best holiday we ever had. They even come to your sunbed to take your drink order i was very shocked. The food was really good they even let u eat it at your sun bed. Price really good round pool. We defo return next summer cant wait. Bar staff amazing and reception.
Me and my partner came here for 9 days, at the end of August and we decided to upgrade to all inclusive as it made more sense for us and we were so pleased that we did as usually we’re hesitant as the food at all inclusive are usually rubbish.
The food options were brilliant and genuinely were delicious. Breakfast was a buffet with lots of selection. Lunch included a three course meal which was available for you to choose (not a buffet) which we loved the idea of, the drink selection was good had a good selection of cocktails and non alcoholic options. Overall this was the best all inclusive we had ever tried.
The waitress and waiters were lovely & very friendly , shout out to the waiter Ghana! He was fantastic, he always made us feel comfortable, greeted us every afternoon and ensured we were never waiting around for food and drink.
The room was nice, the pool was nice and clean and we loved the sunbeds!
We will be back! Definitely would recommend
3 minutes ago New If you have children or like to sleep before 2am I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, I have a little boy and he has been awake every night till silly o’clock due to it being on the strip the noise is ridiculously loud, I understand it’s on the strip so it’s my own fault but I didn’t realise music was allowed to be played so loud (2/3am) until I’d already booked it. Genuinely sounds like the singers are performing on my balcony, I could tell you every tribute act the bar facing has had this week, its actually painful to think of 4 more nights of this noise, Rooms are small, the bathrooms have a bath with a built in shower (I preferably prefer just a shower on a hot holiday, if you’ve got back issues etc it’s not ideal having to step in and out of a bath) breakfast isn’t the best, not much choice and sausages look moody. On the plus side, all the staff are really friendly, couldn’t fault them and the pools quite decent although i definitely Wouldn’t return unfortunately
Stayed here as a family of 5 in August. The Hotel is at the very start of the strip. Hotel looks from the outside in need of some tlc, lots of cracks visible on the balconies for example. Inside the hotel I would say I’d clean and tidy. Rooms again clean and tidy and cleaned daily. No complaints really, being picky id have liked a more powerful shower, but thats all. Working safe in the room was good too have.
Our board was bnb only. The breakfast we were not impressed by, compared to other hotels we’ve used in the past couple of years, the buffet was not good in comparison. Cooked option was limited and not great in quality. Nothing like pancakes or poached eggs being cooked. I’d call the breakfast basic.
Pool are was full of beds. People are free to put towels down whenever they feels like it. We saw people putting them down at night for the next day. Pool itself we really liked. It’s only 1.3m deep max, and it gets the sun all day which means it stays a really nice temperature, never cold to get into. The adult part was fine, swim up bar which is nice.
Issues for us with the Pool were it’s a public pool which no one mentioned. At the weekend it gets packed with people not staying at the hotel. They took over the adult pool area and and bar and sat there all day giving no one else the chance to use it. Unfair for paying guests I’d say, but that’s my opinion.
Staff seemed friendly enough. Location wise, if you want to be closer to the beach, and more importantly fig tree bay, I’d stay somewhere closer.
Overall I’d say this is good for its rating and price range. But nothing stood out for me that would make me want to stay here again.
