Ideally situated in the heart of Protaras, the Kapetanios Bay Hotel is just 5 minutes walk from the fabulous white sands of Fig Tree Bay, often considered to be the best beach in Cyprus. The hotel prides itself on its relaxed informal atmosphere and enjoys a central location with a selection of tavernas and bars practically on your doorstep. The pool bar offers snacks and if you wish to enjoy a cocktail in the sun there are plenty to choose from.
Enjoyed our stay here, the pool area is excellent, the pool bar is excellent, the drinks & food from the bar also excellent 😀 The staff are very good especially Robbie in front bar he was very accommodating and very professional 👏 The rooms were okay quite basic very small balcony but clean and comfortable Location is pretty good quite noisy at night but never bothered us as we were out and about late. Definitely returning next year 😌 🤗
Cyprus is our favourite place but we like trying different hotels and this one has so much potential but a few things let it down.
The room was cleaned daily, great, but (and it’s a big but) the towels were very rarely changed. Our bedding was fairly dirty when we got there with a little rip in it - that rip was still there on our 11th and final night so I’m not sure the bedding is changed as often as they say. Beds are pretty awful, pillows are poor too.
Location is excellent, right next to the strip and plenty of nice bars and restaurants nearby. We were bed and breakfast so ate out plenty.
The breakfast is fine, fairly repetitive but to be expected in Cyprus. Nice coffee on a morning. Food was replenished quickly and always fresh. They do play loud music in the restaurant some mornings and I’m only 34 but it absolutely done my nut in, not sure why anyone needs loud trance music over breakfast.
Sunbeds were great, comfy and plentiful. Some people did reserve the loungers the day before but we always got one no bother. Pool is freezing, nice pool area and great to cool off but it’s cold - very cold. Pool bar for 18+ is the best part of the hotel, great for enjoying a beer or a cocktail and the prices are reasonable.
The pool bar drinks were good, didn’t eat food there but that looked good. It’s one of them hotels that has signs saying don’t bring food in from outside which is a real pet hate of mine given we weren’t staying all inclusive but it didn’t seem to be enforced that much anyway.
Pool area is nice itself too, good atmosphere and the staff around the pool are friendly and attentive. Theres a few repeat customer kicking about and I felt I was treat the same as them, which isn’t always the case!
My final gripe is the late check out/courtesy room. Signs everywhere saying ask on the day you leave. We went down early the morning before thinking that was perhaps too early and it was full so no late check out (fair enough) but all the later courtesy room slots had been taken too. Why tell you to go the day of, if the day before they let people book the ideal slot for making the most of your last day. Very annoying.
Would I stay here again? Probably not unless it was cheap enough. If you get a cheap deal, go for it, but expect it to be just okay rather than anything flashy.
Staff are great, very friendly and helpful, especially reception staff, we were in a Superior deluxe room which was lovely, plenty of storage space, very clean and comfortable beds, the hotel is in a great location near to lots of bars, restaurants and entertainment, only one thing really to complain about, the sun bed situation, if you do not go and put a towel on a sun bed after 5am you have zero chance of getting one, people come from other hotels and save sun beds to come back later, we watched people leaving towels on sun beds and came back 8 hours later, one day we could not get a sun bed at all, staff do nothing about this, I think the solution would be to number the sun beds and allocate them to your room on arrival, this is I think is the only way for paying guests to get a sun bed, the pool area is very big, so you could very easily move your allocated sun bed to shade or sun, we will not be returning to this hotel solely because of the sun bed problems, I also spoke to other guests who said they would not return for this reason too! Management need to sort this out or they will lose guests
We just come back week ago. Well coukdnt fault the hotel st all it was one of best holiday we ever had. They even come to your sunbed to take your drink order i was very shocked. The food was really good they even let u eat it at your sun bed. Price really good round pool. We defo return next summer cant wait. Bar staff amazing and reception.
Me and my partner came here for 9 days, at the end of August and we decided to upgrade to all inclusive as it made more sense for us and we were so pleased that we did as usually we’re hesitant as the food at all inclusive are usually rubbish.
The food options were brilliant and genuinely were delicious. Breakfast was a buffet with lots of selection. Lunch included a three course meal which was available for you to choose (not a buffet) which we loved the idea of, the drink selection was good had a good selection of cocktails and non alcoholic options. Overall this was the best all inclusive we had ever tried.
The waitress and waiters were lovely & very friendly , shout out to the waiter Ghana! He was fantastic, he always made us feel comfortable, greeted us every afternoon and ensured we were never waiting around for food and drink.
The room was nice, the pool was nice and clean and we loved the sunbeds!
We will be back! Definitely would recommend
