Honest review - lovely family holiday but hotel has some improvements
Overall, a lovely hotel in a great location. It hasn’t got much around it (shop and a couple of bars on the road but then a short walk into Pernerna). Bus journey into busy protaras, we usually stay in protaras but I much preferred my stay here location wise in the high season! Pool area and beach were stunning! Amazing views! The hotel and rooms are very nice, clean and great storage! Drinks are great on the all inclusive! All branded! The only thing I found let the hotel down was the food, breakfast was great but lunch and dinners we really struggled in the main restaurant. However, the 2 al carte (Greek and Italian) amazing!!!!!! Probably the best Italian I’ve had! It defo got busier towards the end of our stay and it got quite rowdy (lots of shouting, swearing and people just leaving cups and drinks everywhere by the pool) and busy but that’s just luck of the drawer of who comes! I did find the weekends especially Sundays have a few locals in the pool and they would help themselves to the kids toys and be quite rude and push in on the queue for the slide. Couldn’t get a late checkout room which was a little disappointing but was told able to book a space at the spa for a shower. This is where the experience took a massive negative turn!!! We was given a time slot from 4pm for 5 of us to have a shower (including a 3 year old), it got to 4:40pm and my husband was the last one to have a shower, we was told we only had until 4:45 and he won’t have time. So he ended up not having a shower and I found the spa staff incredibly rude at this point, as I walked out of the shower room with my hands full to be told to move the towels I used out of the room! To which I responded I will remove once I emptied my hands and then was ushered out after being told my husband won’t have time to have a shower although we still had 5 mins left but because other people turned up we was turned away. He ended up having a wash down in the indoor pool shower. We then wanted to get some food from the snack bar as we hadn’t eaten since breakfast to be turned away as we had ‘checked out’, after arguing we was then able to get some food ordered. It was like the moment 12pm hit and you had to checked out of your room, the hotel just didn’t care! Overall, a lovely family holiday, just an unnecessary stressful last day which could have been handled better by the hotel.

From the moment we walked in we loved it. Aesthetically pleasing, very welcoming, clean rooms with the most incredible views from the balcony (sea views) great mod cons for air con and lighting, Netflix on the tv, lovely sized pools and water slide for children. Fantastic entertainment (my favourite was the violinist I must say). Staff are always efficient Im offering drinks. Food was great although it did begin to feel a little repetitive but can’t complain. Lovely selection of deserts and views over a lovely little lake in seating area. Bar snacks and pool bar . We went for a wedding on the grounds and again the views were just beautiful. My husband and I have decided to go again. I actually have no complaints. It was all round perfect. Thank you Golden coast beach hotel and staff. Oh and also a spa sauna etc indoor pool and in hotel shop which saved us on multiple occasions.
Perfect location for families and weddings.
Spent 11 nights here in June/July for our daughter's wedding. Everything was just fabulous; the location, hotel, staff, food, and of course, the wedding day which ran like clockwork thanks to the wedding planner, Felicity. There were 25 of us in all, ranging in age from 8 to 74, and there really was something for everyone. The pool area was very hot, but the sun beds on the grass terraces provided shade and a breeze which was very welcome. And the sea was like a warm bath. Water sports were available a 5 minute walk away, and we made use of these, at extra cost of course. Several of us enjoyed massages in the spa, and one of two made use of the gym. Now for the negatives, but they are minor so still giving a 5* review. The room we were given initially, a superior seaview room, was on the 1st floor. Unfortunately, it was directly above a flat roof so we didn't have much of a view. But the staff were very nice about it and moved is to the 4th floor after 3 nights where the view was spectacular. Getting replacement shampoo, shower gel etc. was a bit of a daily challenge! After not receiving replacements, we asked the cleaners who gave us some. The next day we left the empties in the sink and they were replaced, and the next day they took the half empty ones but didn't leave any fresh ones! Sometimes we resorted to helping ourselves from the cleaners trolley! This could be avoided if they installed larger refillable more environmentally friendly bottles as many hotels do now. We didn't have our bed sheets changed in the 8 nights we were in that room, but our friends had theirs changed after 6 nights, the night before they went home so that was s bit random. And towels were replaced if they were left in the floor which is standard practice now, though a note to advise guests to hang up any they were happy to use again would probably reduce laundry too.Also, whilst on the subject of the environment, all drinks came with a plastic straw in a plastic cover. Overall, a fabulous stay and would recommend to others.
