Cavo Maris Beach Hotel

Pros:

• Breakfast is lovely especially the strawberry smoothies.
• Staff are so pleasant and helpful.
• Rooms are clean, spacious and well looked after. Especially all the up to date touch screen air con, lights etc. Netflix in the room also.
• Beach on the door step.
• Iced coffees and frappes were lovely.

Cons:

• The hotel is FULL of unruly children. They are left unsupervised, they push you out of the way in the breakfast area, toddlers running around unsupervised with hot food.
• I think the description of what it offers is not necessarily accurate. The ‘adult zone’ is a line of beds, slightly away from the pool. Most days this had young children in it. No one checked or did anything about it.
• The lifeguard does absolutely nothing. There is a clear sign that says no sunbed reservations - all reserved before 7.30am and most of them are not used until mid afternoon. The large pool is for anyone over 14 years, this is not the case, it is overrun with younger children with large floats.
• The rooms have a connected room, so you can hear anything that’s going on next door - especially if they have a screaming baby.

To make this hotel exactly what it needs to be, it either needs to become adults only or have a clear dedicated adults only area with a pool for the adults. Not just a line of sunbeds.

This was our fifth stay in the beautiful Cavo Maris. The location is just perfect, beautiful beach, access to water sports and walkable into Protaras strip. The hotel is kept to a high standard of cleanliness with the cleaning staff working tirelessly throughout the day.

This year we stayed on the first floor with an inland view. We had an adjoining room as there were five of us and the staff kindly opened the door for us so we could all be together. The rooms were lovely and cleaned every day. I still had the view of the palm trees out front so was more than happy.

The gardens and pool area are well maintained with ample sun beds in the spacious grounds. I took part in aqua aerobics daily which was great fun, different instructors with a variety of fitness and dance routines which I loved. I also used the gym daily which has a selection of cardio machines and weights.

All of the staff are lovely and friendly. We had a warm welcome from reception on arrival and bar and restaurant staff were very attentive.

We were bed and breakfast and always enjoy the vast selection and quality of food. We had a complimentary meal in the Argo restaurant which was a nice touch from the hotel for being a returning customer. We also had lunch there, the food was so good and again the staff were so attentive. We also enjoyed daily visits to Tu Kyma bar for snacks and drinks. It’s in a beautiful setting and the lady was lovely and friendly.

We did a family vote and we will be back for our sixth visit next year. Thank you once again to all at the Cavo Maris for making our holiday special.

I recently stayed at this hotel my family in August, excited by the features promoted on their website and social channels along with customer reviews. However while the marketing—promises a luxurious experience, the reality didn’t quite live up to expectations compared to other resorts I have stayed at. As a non-pork and mostly non-dairy eater, I found the food options challenging. Meat dishes weren’t clearly labelled, so I often had to ask what was in them or skip them entirely. Breakfast was limited for my dietary needs, and although soy milk was available, it had to be requested each morning, which became tiresome. The pool area was another disappointment. By 1am, most sunloungers were already reserved with towels, making it stressful to find a decent spot during the day. There was also very little visible security, and it was clear that non-residents were using the pool, making it overcrowded and raising concerns about safety and belongings. The kids club was advertised as suitable for children up to 12 years old, but in reality, it seemed geared toward much younger children. My 9-year-old didn’t feel it was appropriate, so we didn’t use it. Entertainment was repetitive—mostly cover singers with little variety. Only one night featured traditional dancing, which was lovely. More cultural or interactive entertainment would be a great improvement. One thing I did appreciate from a previous hotel stay was the use of wristbands that doubled as room keys and identified guest tiers. This system is far more convenient than constantly stating your room number every time you place an order. Overall, the hotel has potential, but it needs to improve in several areas to match the luxurious image it promotes. Small details like missing signage letters, basic room cleaning, and uninspired food presentation (e.g., steak served with a jacket potato) detracted from the experience. I hope the management takes this feedback on board to elevate the guest experience. On a positive note, I want to do a shout out to the staff that made our holiday a joy.
