Capo Bay

Unfortunately, my experience at Capo Bay was extremely disappointing.

While parking in the hotel car park, the sidewall of my tyre lightly touched the kerb. The kerb was badly damaged, with cracked concrete and sharp pieces of stone protruding from it. This caused the sidewall of my tyre to be sliced, leaving the tyre unsafe and requiring replacement/repair. I ended up spending €135 and losing around half a day of my holiday dealing with the problem.

I raised the issue with the hotel several times and asked if they could provide some compensation for the damage, or even a simple gesture of goodwill such as a meal voucher. Unfortunately, they were unwilling to offer anything.

What I found particularly disappointing was the response I received. The hotel’s position was essentially that I had touched the kerb, despite the fact that the kerb itself was in a visibly poor and hazardous condition. They also suggested that the tyre was worn, which was not the case. The tread had plenty of life remaining; the damage was specifically a large cut to the sidewall caused by the sharp, damaged kerb.

My main concern is actually the safety issue. I pointed out to the hotel that the damaged kerb is a potential hazard, particularly for children who could slip or fall against the sharp protruding stone. I was disappointed that this concern did not appear to be taken seriously.

Accidents can happen, and I understand that touching a kerb is ultimately what made contact with the tyre. However, a properly maintained kerb should not have sharp, exposed stone capable of slicing through a tyre. More importantly, I would have expected a hotel of this standard to take the safety concern seriously and show at least some goodwill towards a guest who had suffered an avoidable €135 expense and lost half a day of their holiday.

I would strongly recommend that Capo Bay repair this damaged section of the car park before someone else is injured or another vehicle suffers damage.

Unfortunately, the way the situation was handled has significantly affected my opinion of the hotel and its customer service.

Great location. Right on the beach. Staff members were very friendly. Rooms were a decent size. Clean and tidy. Not much room on our balcony with a table and 2 chairs. The complex was a great size. Kids pool and an adults pool. Plenty of sunbeds.

Lovely hotel. Great location, spotlessly clean. Friendly welcoming staff. Great little shop on site Thank you to Manish for cleaning our room during our stay. Breakfast was also good lots of choice
