Stay away at all cost absolutely shocking I wouldn't give it 2 stars, cleaning is unbelievable poor from the hotel to the pool spent 7 days there cost me and my family a fortune for what we paid you would expect 4star luxury as advertised not that at all they say family rooms with single beds no no no you get camp beds, dated rooms and reception staff fob you off with what ever you complain about genuine complaints as well nether once in 7days did I see the pool cleaned , the food is okish we was all inclusive and dined out every nite so make your own minds up please please do your homework before you book this hotel , ps there is a concert on every nite across the road very loud foreign music until 2.30am .

We recently stayed at the Anastasia Hotel in Protaras, and unfortunately, our experience was very mixed.

There were several maintenance and cleanliness issues that really let the hotel down. We had broken plug sockets hanging off the wall, which is a serious safety concern, especially with a young child. Even more worrying, a bottle of bleach was left in our bathroom within easy reach of my daughter.

Housekeeping was very poor throughout our stay. During the first week, our room was only cleaned once, despite us asking several times. We also repeatedly had to request toilet roll because it wasn’t being replaced. It honestly felt like the room was only cleaned properly when we left a tip, which shouldn’t be the case.

To make matters worse, while we were in the room, a maintenance worker came to clean the air conditioning unit. He left all of the dust and dirt from the unit on our bedroom floor and simply walked out, leaving us to clean up the mess ourselves. This summed up the lack of care and attention we experienced throughout our stay.

The food was another mixed experience. There wasn’t a huge variety each day, but I have to say that what was available was tasty, so I can’t fault the quality of the food itself. However, the fruit was a real disappointment. Every time we went to get some, it was covered in fruit flies, looked dry, and certainly didn’t appear fresh. This was very off-putting.

The swimming pools and water slides were excellent and were definitely one of the highlights of the hotel. The head lifeguard did a fantastic job, was always alert, and made sure everyone was safe.

Unfortunately, the service from the pool staff, bar staff, and waiters wasn’t great. Most of them came across as miserable and quite rude, which didn’t create a welcoming atmosphere.

Although the hotel is advertised as all-inclusive, you still have to pay for bottled water, which was disappointing. The entertainment was also very poor—we gave it a try for the first two nights but didn’t bother after that.

Another issue was the noise. Every room door slams shut, so throughout the evening, night, and early morning you’re constantly hearing doors banging, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep.

Outside, the chairs were covered in bird droppings and didn’t appear to be cleaned regularly.

Overall, we wouldn’t return to this hotel. Thankfully, we still had an amazing holiday because we spent as much time as possible exploring Cyprus, which is absolutely beautiful. The hotel has some positives, particularly the pools, slides, the excellent head lifeguard, and the quality of the food, but the poor cleanliness, maintenance issues, lack of customer service, disappointing entertainment, and lack of attention to hygiene mean we wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
