Mandalena Hotel Apartments is an exceptional choice for holidays in the tourist area of Protaras for someone who seeks to experience the traditional Cypriot hospitality in a friendly environment. You are almost next to bus stop and 10-minute stroll to an excellent selection of shops, bars and restaurants. The most amazing beaches of the island are just 20 minutes away. Mandalena Hotel Apts has attracted thousands of tourists who appreciated the friendly service, the convenience of spacious apartments with payable air conditioning, and the quiet area where it is located. It is a family owned and run hotel, the best choice for families and couples who look for tranquility and for holidays they will never forget.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
This is the 3rd time we have stayed in this lovely hotel. It is a peaceful friendly family run hotel. We stayed half board and the food was fantastic. The apartment is large and clean. Considering we were in peak season there was always sunbeds by the pool and never felt crowded. Location it is about 10-15 minutes walk to the strip of protaras. You can walk the other way and about the same distance to Pernera. We will definitely be back.
Location superb for buses to protaras and the sea and shops. Atmosphere. Quiet and peaceful friendly. Rooms great tv clean immaculate cleaned every day shampoo shower gel etc. Shower bath. Food fabulous breakfast 8 euros supper 20 euros. Pool.
We had a very lovely stay here. Everything was very clean, functional, nothing fancy, but didn’t expect that as the stay was reasonably priced. Quite area, but close to everything you need. Some noise from the main road if right to it like us, but air con drowned this out. The staff were very attentive and friendly, we felt valued, they allowed us to borrow things we needed without hassle and felt trusted to bring back. Food and drink nice and reasonably priced, I particularly enjoyed (maybe too much) the 3.50 euro cocktail specials. The pool was clean and enjoyable (although the blue tiles that are on show above the water need a deep clean/scrub). Always seemed to be sun loungers and umbrellas free despite other guests always there. Room was very clean, functioning fridge, comfy beds, very nice showers. Extra pillows and blankets in the wardrobe. Fully functioning kitchen which we used. You have pay extra for A/C (5 euros a day) and for the safety deposit box (we didn’t use - didn’t feel need, no issues). We would have liked these to be included in price, to prevent hassle, but we recognise this as a preference. A/C may have given me a cough and might benefit from an extra clean, but couldn’t be sure it was that. Always seemed to be a car parking spot for us. We felt the smell of the towels were abit weird and we ended up changing a couple of times (no issues), not that this meant they were unclean. We felt they would be clean as cleanliness seemed to be a priority for the hotel. Daily room cleans. Check out was 12pm giving plenty of time. Last day the hotel allowed us to chill around the pool all day, letting us hang on to our towels to have a shower before the airport. We loved the whole experience, wish we could have stayed longer, sad to leave. Would certainly return. Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5

Nearby activities Restaurants, bars, shops, beach, famous chapel on a hill. In a car it’s close to lots of beaches and Cape Greco.
Safety Great generally. Only recommendation would be to get a better light in the additional shower in the basement. Too dark to safely wash/shave.
Walkability Beach was about 15 mins walk or 20 mins if walk slow. Local shop within 2 mins walk. Main nightlife 10 mins walk. Some more local bars and restaurants on the
I have just come back from a wonderful stay at Mandalena Hotel Apartments. It was my first solo holiday and I was a little nervous about it but the staff were really welcoming and caring, they were so friendly and thoughtful and always made time for a chat and to ask how I was. I had an amazing view from my room, the location means you are not overlooked by other properties and have a full 360deg view from the balcony. The room was so clean and was huge and the maid came every day and kept the place spotless. I had some breakfasts and evening meals at the restuarant and can recommend the food, try the chicken Diane - it's delicious! Also there is a cocktail of the day every day for only 3.50 euros! The pool area had more than enough sun loungers and the location of the hotel meant that the sun was in the pool area most of the day, lovely spot to get a tan. The location was in between Pernera and Protaras and both are walkable in about 15 mins. This means that it is quiet at night which was a bonus! The entry and foyer area is a lovely cool area to grab a book and relax too. There is also a brilliant bus service which picks up and drops off right outside the hotel, that runs all the way from Paralimni to Ayia Napa and is every 15 minutes and costs 2 euros. Thank you so much to everyone at the Mandalena, I had a wonderful holiday, my only regret was that I only came for one week, next time I am coming for 2 weeks! You made me feel so welcome and comfortable.
After visiting for the 1st time last year we rebooked to come again.
Love the location of this hotel. Situated on the top road and half way between Protaras and Pernera, a quieter location and budget friendly! Bus stop right outside the hotel (which has been upgraded this year to a bus shelter) with frequent bus services if the walk is too far. (15 mins stroll to start of Protaras strip) Breakfast was really good value, meals were all reasonably priced and very nice. Cocktail of the day was 3.50euro and the rest are great prices and tasty! Tv in bar area and staff happy to put channels on for guests. Sofas in reception, book shelf, small amount of children's toys, information booklets, luggage rokm, small gym, shower in toilet area for departure day, small car park.
Staff very friendly and welcoming,emailed before arriving with a room request, reply was instant and thankfully accommodated it. We heard many people are returning customers and easy to see why!
Had a 1 bedroom apartment which was basic, had all we needed & large. Large bedroom with 2 single beds, extras cushions and bedding provided, dressing table area,arge wardrobe with hangers and drawers. Window in bedroom with view of pool area and st elias church. Kitchen area had 2 ring hob, kettle, toaster, under counter fridge and freezer draw dining table and all utensils required including washing up liquid and sponge. Tv in this room but never turned it on. Large sofa bed, extra chair and 2 coffee tables, window showing pool area. Downside of Only 1 plug socket in each room, not near bed either if thats your preference. English plug sockets. Large bathroom with soap provided. No hairdryer provided Good sized balcony with chairs & table. (No washing line but has handrail) we had a good pool and sea view. Pool area was nice and chilled, music on from approx 8am at a reasonable volume, plenty sunbeds & umbrellas for everyone and this year thick comfortable mattresses on each sunbed too. Small children's pool, slides, small grass area and box of toys. Inflatables and Noodles were available I think that others had left. Maids came in everyday emptying bins etc and towels/bedding changed during stay. Towels are lovely and soft. Air con is extra cost on arrival. Small safe in reception area. All areas of pool, outside, corridors, reception etc very clean.
