Livadhiotis City Hotel

I have never ever stayed at a hotel with ruder staff. Every single member of staff I’ve had to interact with seemed to be bothered by the fact they had to interact with me. The short haired blonde lady at the reception only used grunts to communicate, it was if every word cost her money. Overall I felt like I was more somewhere in Eastern Europe (where most of the staff seem to be from anyway) and not in southern Europe where people are always friendly and welcoming.

Rooms are grimy and rather dated. Found a cockroach in the bathroom. Duct tape on the door. Tv had a European plug plugged into a UK type outlet (see photos).

The one good thing about the hotel was that the rooms were being cleaned daily, but we still found a cockroach in the bathroom one evening.

Breakfast wasn’t bad but the variety wasn’t there and they were serving the exact same food every single morning.

The location is pretty good, close to the beach, restaurants, bars.

Overall we’d never stay at this hotel again and it kind of ruined our entire Cyprus experience.

This hotel is in a good location and has a lot of potential, but unfortunately it is very poorly managed and maintained.

The cleanliness was extremely disappointing. Housekeeping appears to clean only the obvious, visible areas of the room. However, if you look around the room, under the furniture, and in the corners, it is very dirty. The corners of both the room and bathroom were covered in dust, making it obvious that these areas are rarely cleaned.

There were also several maintenance issues. The curtains were covered in stains, the shower was broken, the cupboard housing the fridge was damaged, and parts of the wardrobe were coming apart. It’s disappointing to see so many issues in one room.

They arranged to fix the issues quickly after I brought them to their attention, but that’s not the point. Hotel staff and management should be conducting regular inspections of the rooms, identifying maintenance issues, and arranging repairs before guests have to point them out.

It also feels like management rarely inspects the rooms. The staff were friendly, but the service lacked initiative. Unless you specifically pointed something out or asked for help, there was no proactive effort to ensure guests had a good experience. When I mentioned the cleanliness issues to the front desk, they simply said ok. There was no apology or acknowledgement of the concerns, which was disappointing.

Breakfast was another letdown. It was exactly the same every single day during my stay of almost a week, with virtually no variation. The selection was very basic, and eating the same food every morning quickly became repetitive and unappealing. Even rotating a few menu items every second day would make a significant difference.

Overall, my experience was average. It’s a shame because this hotel has great potential. With better management, higher cleaning standards, improved maintenance, more attentive customer service, and a little more variety at breakfast, it could provide a much better experience for its guests.
