Holiday cyprus
Family holiday of 8 persons including 2 children. One child as ADHD so I thought this would be good for him how wrong was I.
Firstly our flight was changed from bournemouth to Gatwick not a good start as we live in bournemouth. That was sorted with a phone call. Had to pay for parking at Gatwick, petrol, but was compensated a little. Once arriving at parking and getting to south terminal bag drop off was quick and easy lots of assistance if required. We went to our boarding gate and got on our plane all settled the pilot said that we have to wait for a change over in push out staff, which I know was not true as I have worked at an airport in the past and everything is timed. Then the pilot said that it would be 20 minutes. After over an hour wait sitting on the plane we finally started our journey. The cabin staff were very polite and helpful. We landed at Larnaca Airport got through passport control and collected our luggage allowance good. Found the TUI rep and was informed of our transfer bus number which we found quickly. We all got on the bus and started our journey to our hotel Tofinis there was no tui rep on the bus with us to talk about things. We arrived at the hotel at about 2am local time the receptionist was very helpful and informed us of our rooms no Tui rep to meet us . Off we went and was greeted with 1 small room with 2 single beds and 2 camping style beds which was not what I booked and 2 other rooms . I booked 2 rooms with an extra bedroom so this would be connecting rooms and 1 twin room. I went to see the rep the next morning and was told that I had booked 1 room for 4 persons and 2 rooms for 2 persons why would I have done that as it clearly stated on the Web site twin room with 2 extra beds in another bedroom. I asked for an upgrade and was told no more rooms available until the weekend maybe and that it would cost another £3000.00 as you can imagine i was not happy. We moved one of the children into one of the other rooms to make more room as the storage in each room was inadequate. We started our holiday sunbed wars began. There was not enough sunbeds for the amount of people staying in the hotel, the main pool was small could not get in the pool on occasions. It shut at 5.30pm everyday. The waterpark picture on the web site looked amazing in true form it was not . It was dirty smelly and was closed by 5.15pm everyday on the web site and at the reception it clearly stated that all pools were open till 6pm . Stated that one bar would open at 5pm to 6.30pm then 12am to 2am for adults only and that this bar would be open for all between 6.30pm and 12am . This particular bar opened at 6.30pm and shut at 12am . There were 3 other bars one where lunch was served and snacks from 12.30pm to 5pm . Then it would open again at 7pm to 12am. This one opened for lunch and snacks which was great then opened again at 7pm but shut at 9.45pm and on certain nights never even opened. So you would have maybe over 1000 persons trying to get into one tiny bar near reception. Entertainment was absolutely terrible games during the day were uneventful in the evening was absolutely atrocious. I had spent a lot of money on a holiday with my family and was so very annoyed and upset with this hotel and TUI. The reps were unhelpful I wanted to book some trips and was told to come back later they were busy so we never booked any trips , we went to the web sites and booked through the actual companies which in the end were cheaper.
The chef in the restaurant was very helpful as my daughter can not eat gluten and he made her food. We did go out a few times to eat as the food was not to our liking but that is what we wanted to do. We went to the beach and found this to be very enjoyable. We did notice that on a few occasions persons had different colours for there wrist band and was told that the facilities were open for anyone who wanted to use for the day no wonder there was no sunbeds for people staying at the hotel these were taken by them. People were sitting or standing in the pool drinking plastic cups, straws were floating in the pool staff were going round picking them up but this was not what I expected. As for the life guards they spent most of there time on their phones. It said that there was a shop at the hotel the only one we found was outside the hotel. I personally would say that this was a 2 maybe 3 star hotel at a push. There was one receptionist who was very rude and had a bad attitude if he didn't want to help people then go get another job. I was very disappointed in our family holiday at this hotel and with TUI. I could not book a late check out room until the day we were leaving what is all that about, if I have needed to book a late check out room in the past I have been able to do it the day I arrive. I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone and I will definitely think twice before booking a family holiday or any holiday with TUI again. One good thing was that we all made our holiday into a great time and have lots of good memories as a family. I will be putting a review on all sites about this hotel and tui unhelpful staff .
Location abit far from everything, services not a complete all inclusive missing a few touches like empty bottle fridge where water can be available instead of queuing at busy bar during the day,no sun lounge towels unless you pay? Food is very bland evening entertainment is for children young mini disco and maybe bingo found one of the kids entertainers rude and harsh with comments No coffee or tea in rooms had to buy from shop you need to drive or get taxis everywhere beach is a good 10 mins walk down hill and back up hill in very hot weather uncomfortable if you have little ones or struggling to walk
What an amazing holiday this was! The hotel itself was clean, well located for the near by town of Ayia Napa, the food was outstanding, the facilities were excellent and the staff above it all were first class. Sebastian and his Animation team were excellent not just with the kids, but went out of their way to make myself, my family and all the guests welcome and appreciated. The bar staff on the pool side bar were very helpful and cheery, always happy to chat to the guests. The restaurant workers were very busy, but always made u feel welcome and always had a smile on their faces. The main bar staff were outstanding too! Enjoyed chatting to Prince, Named and Alex aka 'Mr Bean'! This was an amazing place to go but made even better by the care, warmth, kindness and genuine curtesy shown to us all. I apologise to the staff who were excellent to us also that I haven't named, but you were all amazing, so for making our holiday extra special, I thank you all! Cannot recommend Tofinis enough!
We had a wonderful stay at Topfini Hotel! The food was good, with plenty of options, and the meal times were very convenient. The water park was absolutely fantastic and definitely one of the highlights of our stay!
A special thank you to Saeed from the reception, who was incredibly helpful, kind and always happy to assist us. His service really made our stay even better. 🙏🏼
One small tip for future guests: it’s better to bring your own towels for the pool, and keep in mind that the hotel doesn’t change towels every day, so it’s worth bringing a few extra.
Overall, we had a great experience and really enjoyed our vacation. Highly recommended! ❤️
We stayed for 2 weeks in summer hols. Lets start with the water park/splash park - brilliant and keeps the kids entertained all day! Be prepared though for the stampede at 10am when the gates open and its open to the public. There is nowhere near enough beds for the vast majority but theres lots of wasted space where there could put so many more. The slides on the other hand are great and the splash park for the littlies is fab and my son particularly enjoyed the lazy river but lifeguards could you please supervise and stop people messing about and being dangerous.
The food is adequate but no variety especially for the kids. My son lived off fish fingers, chicken nuggets and hot dogs as that's all that was on offer. Breakfast by far the best meal of the day.
All Inclusive? No. Some-inclusive. Bottled water charged for! Never known that as water in the all inclusive drinks machine im sure is tap water! €3 for a bottle of water from the bar.
The staff? Rude and not helpful. Saw families having to sit on separate tables because they won't move tables unless you've booked! I got shouted at by a waiter because I used the wrong tongs to serve my son some nuggets. Animation team. Seb and Hermaya the Nepalese lady were fantastic. She played with my son for ages whilst the other 3 girls played on their phones.
The feeling is just rules, rules, rules and no customer service at all.
