I don’t normally leave negative reviews, but I was genuinely disappointed by the hygiene and maintenance standards at Kai Hotel.
During our stay we found visible mould/biofilm inside the drink dispenser nozzle. After reporting it, the staff cleaned it, but this should never have been left for guests to discover in the first place.
On the day we checked out, I also noticed the coffee machine was open while it was being refilled, and it appeared to have heavy build-up inside.
The swimming pool was another disappointment. I was at the pool almost every morning around 7:15 am and never once saw it being vacuumed. The staff would add chemicals and skim the surface with a net, but there was always dirt and debris floating in the water, as well as a noticeable amount of debris on the bottom.
Another issue was the noise. Many nights there was significant noise from younger guests late into the night and again early in the morning, waking us up several times during our stay.
There were also several maintenance issues, including rust around bathroom fittings, moisture damage and poor finishing in the bathroom.
I cannot say that the hygiene issues caused the stomach problems I experienced during my stay, but they certainly did not inspire confidence in the hotel’s cleanliness.
The location is good and the staff were friendly, but hygiene, maintenance and basic guest comfort should be a priority. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend Kai Hotel until these issues are properly addressed

Cheap but amazing food and clean basic rooms
Brilliant hotel, basic but good. Location is right by the fair if you have young kids. You can’t hear it at night though. Right in between nissi beach and the harbour. The rooms are basic and a little bit tired but it’s a 3 star hotel. They’re clean however. You’ll need a plug for the kettle and a remote for the tv available at extra charge from reception. We didn’t use the pool because there are never any beds available didn’t bother us we go out for the day. Not one to sit by a pool. The food. We booked half board and the food has been amazing. We half expected to have to go out every night and morning for food, the cost of the hotel we expected this but we ate in every single night. Amazing!!!! Genuinely some of the best hotel food we have had. In a nutshell, don’t expect glitz and glamour, lower your expectations and you’ll have a great time at the hotel

Katastrophal
Unfortunately, I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel. Our stay was very disappointing from start to finish. As soon as we entered the room, it was obvious that cleanliness was a major issue: the bed sheets and towels were visibly not clean, and the entire room felt dirty and poorly maintained. What made it even worse was the presence of insects everywhere – even dead insects stuck on the walls. The furniture and wardrobes were also dusty and in poor condition.
Another major issue was the service. Our room was not cleaned multiple times, which is unacceptable. On top of that, the toilet seat was broken and was not repaired during our entire stay. Overall, it felt like no one really cared about the problems of the guests.
Communication with the staff was extremely difficult, as hardly any English was spoken. Promises were made but not kept, which was very frustrating.
The reception staff were unfriendly, unhelpful, and showed no interest in making our stay better or addressing complaints. As a guest, you simply do not feel taken seriously.
Overall, the hotel is in urgent need of renovation and does not meet the standards you would expect for the price. For us, this stay was a huge disappointment. I would definitely not book this hotel again and cannot recommend it to anyone.
Not worth the money
The hotel is infested with ants, the staff is unfriendly, and the rooms are dirty. The only thing that is okay is the food.

Very dirty
The cleaning was awful, we had ants and instects everywhere in the room, including in the minibar. When we told the reception, they advised us not to bring food in the room anymore( we didn’t have food in the room). The bed sheets were stained and the towels were grey. The AC stopped working in the first 2 days and it couldn’t be fixed. The water faucet, the toilet and the shower had were all covered in limestone. The halls, the reception, the stairs were extremely dirty and dusty. We were extremely lucky that we could change the hotel in the first days. The location is indeed beautiful( very close to the center and the clubs) and the garden looks really good.
