I came here on the 15th August for 14 nights with my wife and daughter. Reading the previous reviews of this hotel I was expecting to have my best holiday ever..................and it did not disappoint. The only negative is that their are only a couple of outdoor toilets, accessible via a walkway between the 2 pools. The positives are everything else. The staff are incredible, from the lifeguards cleaning the pool and pool area everday, the entertainment staff Max and Danilo who are incredibly energetic and enormous fun, the restaurant staff and fantastic omelette man, the poolside drinks staff even bring you drinks without being asked when they learn your regular order. The food in the restaurant is topped up and refreshed regularly and has an icredible selection including honeycomb at breakfast. Honestly I understand why people write complete essays on this hotel but all I can say is that from the moment we arrived until the moment we left it was a magical experience and interior decor is almost dreamlike. This is a wonderful hotel with the nicest and most hardworking staff i have wver seen. We will definitely return and maybe several times.
Atlantica Bay hotel was fantastic, it was the best place we have ever stayed, the hotel was spotless, the food was outstanding, the pools were beautiful and the staff could not do enough.
The best part of our stay without a doubt was the entertainment, Danlo was an amazing line dancer, fantasic host and quiz master, and a very very special mention to Max from the entertainment team - he was the best entertainer i have ever seen, he went above and beyond every day to make our day so special, his kindness, humour and warmth to my son and daughter in law throughout the week was so lovely, he has created memories for my family that we will treasure forever so much so we have begged him to be here when we rebook next year.
Lots of love from your Opie Opie fans, the Cypriot, teacher, princess and the best darts player you have ever seen!!!
Great service, the whirlpool suite is great Has all the needed amenities, food is great Spa is very nice, massages catalogue has variety, Svetlana the masseuse is great
We have mixed feelings about this hotel. This is an honest review and I’m in my fifties. The pools were lovely and the rooms were good. We used both pools and neither seemed over crowded. Staff come round the pools for drinks orders. The hotel was very clean and the staff were pleasant. Great mini bar top up including spring water and 2 lagers. Sun beds were usually available but you do need to get them around breakfast time. I loved the cats and so pleased the hotel takes care of them. They don’t bother you if you show no interest. I did make a donation for their care but of course it’s voluntary.
The evening entertainment was poor. Some nights there was no external entertainment and it was staff doing line dancing. Show tunes and 1950’s songs didn’t thrill us but there was a bit of ABBA, Billy Ocean and a few 80’s songs. There was a bit of a Scottish bias as that’s where the singer was from and a bit pub singerish by the end. The silent discos were a replacement for entertainment and stopped at about 10.30pm. Those should have been tagged on after the main entertainment and not been used as a replacement for it. Any entertainment seemed to stop abruptly and the feeling we got was that you were expected to go to bed. The waiting service stopped when the entertainment did which was about 10.45pm and you had to go to the bar for drinks. Younger couples were getting taxis to go out somewhere else. I think this must have been Limassol as there was nothing much around the hotel. We did play cards in the bar area a few times while having a few drinks. This was after the entertainment as we didn’t feel ready to go to bed. You can’t take drinks to your room which is a shame as we would have liked to enjoy a drink on the balcony. We sometimes had a lager from the mini bar. Spring water was not available pool side or at the bar but you could sometimes get fizzy water. The wine could have been sprinkled on chips but once you get the first glass down it’s not too bad. Shorts are not branded and you could tell. We were there for 10 nights and any entertainment they do have is not on a 2 week rotation so you might end up seeing the same offering twice if you are there over a week. During the day time there were activities offered. These were quizzes, water polo, water aerobics, darts, and some sort of skittles or bowling game. The water aerobics was really loud. They also offer a pool party which involves irritating music and inflatables.
The idea is fun but put some Wham on (Club Tropicana) or better music! That was in the afternoon. We found the Macarena and Mambo No 5 on repeat irritating.
As pescatarians we did struggle some days with the food. It was quite samey and prawns were not served daily. Plenty of food there though and meat eaters will probably be very satisfied. They did do an absolutely delicious veggie moussaka. I also enjoyed the pesto pasta. I think veggie sausages would be a great addition. Puddings were all cream, jelly and ice cream. Some chocolate spongy things and they did do a great bread and butter pudding. Fruit was always on offer.
We got the bus into Limassol and it was cheap and efficient. We weren’t sure quite were to get off so we got off at the old town and harbour. I’m glad we did because this is the part we wanted to see. If you stay on it will take you to a mall where you will find many familiar shops but you could do this in the UK. We went to a small castle were there were beautiful crocheted flowers down the walls. There are places to eat and souvenir shops there. There’s even a great pharmacy if you need one. It took about half an hour as it does stop frequently. The bus stop is right outside the hotel. I think it was 2 euros.
The spa at the hotel had no price list which put me off. It’s quite pricey and the lady comes round the pool trying to get business. I can’t comment on the quality of treatments as I didn’t have one.
Over all we had a good holiday but we really think the entertainment needs looking at! Also the hotel could offer more veggie options. I must just say the coffee ;from a machine) was delicious and I had 2 big mugs every morning. Coffee lovers won’t be disappointed.
Thank you to the very hard working staff. 😁
Repeat visit to well established adult only member of the Atlantica group. Was a late booking as TUI had August deals. It did not disappoint and was worth every penny. Room, food, pools all delivered. Super staff, we were well served by Emilia of Guest relations with pre checkin request, and Valerie on the front desk when housekeeping inadvertently missed our room one day. 2 à la cartes served really good quality menu/food , only slight disappointment was the service at Sands could have been more attentive. The best sunbeds were always taken quickly, but we are early risers so not an issue for us, evening entertainment was sufficient for us. This used to be TUI Blue so was perhaps a little less vibrant that previous visit and we actually preferred the changes; the entertainment team worked very hard without being as much in your face and less loud music was refreshing We don’t do TUI tours but we did visit Limassol using the local bus, very easy and cheap@€2 pp per ride. A hotel that stays on our lists of options.
