This hotel is situated in a quiet location on the coast of Babin Kuk peninsula near the old town of Dubrovnik, surrounded by green Mediterranean oasis. It is just 300 m from the beach and 6 km from the town centre. Links to public transport can be found in the immediate vicinity while the airport is at 23 km away. Guests can enjoy a stay in a comfortable, stylish room with balcony. In-room amenities include air-conditioning, safe, LCD TV, minibar and bathroom with hairdryer. Guests can relax in the wellness zone or by the fantastic outdoor infinity pools with a view of the sea and nearby islands. Diving and water sports centres are located just 250 m from the hotel. Guests can spend their days in active recreation and return for rest and entertainment to the hotel.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The Argosy Hotel classes itself as a 4 Star Wellness retreat and is one of a group of The Valamar Hotels chain situated on Babin Kuk, a 20 minute bus ride to the north of Dubrovnik. My partner and I stayed the in late September to early October 2026 and were impressed, actually very impressed by the hotel. The atmosphere is relaxed and calm. That could be because it is an adults only hotel but it is also down to the layout, decor and the amazing staff who were always on hand, friendly, helpful and ready to offer advice on what to do if asked. Our room was a park view with balcony. It had a slight sea view and the garden and trees made it feel secluded and relaxing. The room was quiet, very clean and equipped with a walk in shower, as you might expect for this level of hotel. The buffet breakfasts were quite exceptional in the choice and good quality, but it is the views of the bay that make it exceptional when you look out while eating. This part alone gets the hotel my highest rating. On the (accessible) terraces there are two main pools, both infinity and with bay views. Inside the spar there is a third. I guess the only thing it could have is a beach in front. If you want a beach you need to walk around 5 minutes to The President (5*) Hotel which gives access to public areas, if you are a Argosy guest. The fine shingle beach is clean and sea was around 24 degrees when we stayed. Sun beds are pay to use but half price (€25) for us as a sister hotel guests. There are other beaches and a beach club with a 10 minute walk. There are plenty of local restaurants to try along the sea walk promenade. All round a fabulous hotel, well done to the manager and staff. I recommend this good value experience to anyone not taking youngsters.

Amazing service, polite staff and friendly. View from hotel is gorgeous with the sea and mountains. Location near some restaurants and food is really good. Rooms are spotless with plenty of room. Highly recommended for couples.
Just spent a lovely week at the Argosy Hotel. Facilities fantastic, great variety of food at the breakfast and evening buffet. Staff very friendly and helpful, always a warm welcome in the dining room from Jovana at the desk. I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel.
I had a very pleasant stay at the Valamar Argosy Hotel.
The food was enjoyable, with a good variety of choices throughout my stay. I also greatly appreciated how polite, friendly, and welcoming the staff were. I felt welcomed from the moment I arrived and throughout my stay.
The room was comfortable overall. However, I was disappointed that the television did not offer any English-language channels, particularly as many of the hotel’s guests are from the United Kingdom. It would be beneficial to provide at least a few English-language channels, such as Sky News.
I would also recommend reviewing the condition of the shower hose (Room 230) as it appears to require an upgrade. Addressing this would help ensure that the shower facilities meet the standard expected of the hotel.
The beach was beautiful, with crystal-clear water and a pleasant pebble surface. The sea was quite cold during my stay, although this is naturally dependent on the season and weather conditions. Guests should also be aware that the paths to the beach are relatively steep, and returning to the hotel involves climbing. This may be particularly important for guests with mobility difficulties.
The Old Town was well worth visiting and was easy to reach by bus. I would recommend purchasing bus tickets from the local shop just down the road, opposite the Valamar Argosy Hotel. The shop also sells water and other snacks. Bus tickets purchased there are less expensive than those bought directly from the bus driver.
Pilgrimage: I’m Catholic and went to Bosnia and Hercegovina via 1 day trip whilst on my holiday to Medjugorie ( only 130 km from Dubrovnik) and attended open morning Holy Mass on open air and went to the Apparition Hill and saw where Mother Virgin Mary statue was and prayed. Absolutely beautiful and holly atmosphere with Amico Tours. Brilliant tour guide . Google it and book your place in advance as it comes full very quickly .
Overall, I enjoyed my stay and appreciated the excellent hospitality, food, and beautiful surroundings. I hope you will consider this feedback when reviewing the guest experience and facilities for future visitors.
