This hotel is situated in a quiet location on the coast of Babin Kuk peninsula near the old town of Dubrovnik, surrounded by green Mediterranean oasis. It is just 300 m from the beach and 6 km from the town centre. Links to public transport can be found in the immediate vicinity while the airport is at 23 km away. Guests can enjoy a stay in a comfortable, stylish room with balcony. In-room amenities include air-conditioning, safe, LCD TV, minibar and bathroom with hairdryer. Guests can relax in the wellness zone or by the fantastic outdoor infinity pools with a view of the sea and nearby islands. Diving and water sports centres are located just 250 m from the hotel. Guests can spend their days in active recreation and return for rest and entertainment to the hotel.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
A brilliant hotel with fantastic staff and excellent service. A special mention to the bartenders in the lobby bar – they’re the best! They make superb cocktails and are such a lovely, welcoming team. We had a wonderful stay and couldn’t have asked for more. Would happily return!

My mum and I had a wonderful stay at Valamar Argosy Hotel and would definitely recommend it for a relaxing trip to Dubrovnik.
The location was perfect for us — close enough to everything we wanted to see, but in a quieter area which was lovely to come back to after exploring Dubrovnik. The hotel itself is beautiful, with gorgeous surroundings and amazing views.
We really enjoyed staying half board, with plenty of choice at breakfast and dinner, and the live music in the evenings was such a lovely touch. There are also lots of opportunities to book sports and activities, as well as a lovely spa, so there is plenty to enjoy at the hotel.
A special mention to Rozi, Jovana V and Davor, who were all absolutely wonderful and made our stay extra special. They were so friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our holiday and are a real credit to the hotel.
The only thing I was slightly disappointed by was that, although oat milk was provided in the room, it wasn’t available at the buffet. As I only drink oat milk, I would have really appreciated having it available with breakfast and dinner too. The small portions in the room were a lovely touch, but weren’t quite enough for making drinks.
Overall, we had the most amazing mum-and-daughter holiday and really enjoyed our time at Valamar Argosy. We would happily return and definitely recommend the hotel! 💙
Fantastic hotel set on the end of the peninsula. Views are amazing. Cool and quiet inside the hotel. Rooms are bright and comfortable. Cleaned daily as requested. HB was very good value. Helpful tip would be to have drinking water available in the bedrooms and also normal milk for making tea and coffee. We couldn’t find any where except the gym to fill water bottles. Asking for milk each day at the bar became tiring. Staff are extremely helpful and looked after us very well.
Totally agree with the other reviews about the staff here - they are all fantastic. However, I can’t be so enthusiastic about some of the other areas. Cleanliness - yes, the hotel was very clean and neat, however our room wasn’t cleaned well at all. For example, a very prominent toothpaste stain was left for several days and a used mug wasn’t replaced. Also, one of our bathroom towels had a flipping great hole worn through it!
The bed was, as mentioned by others, very comfortable but was let down by the pillows which were far too soft to be comfortable for us. Also, the air con has a fixed lower temperature which was too high for us - it would’ve been nice if it was a couple of degrees lower.
The pool area is ok, it gets very crowded at times but as others have said, sunbeds are usually available during the day and there’s no mad rush for them in the morning. We did notice several areas where some remedial work needs doing but nothing that made anything dangerous.
The food at both the breakfast and evening buffets is great, there’s certainly plenty of choice. We were disappointed though that you had to pay for fresh juice at breakfast. Never had that before!
For a bit of a change one evening we went to dinner next door at the Valamar President’s buffet. Big mistake! It’s more expensive but the selection on offer was very limited and not very nice, and the restaurant itself was a white, brightly lit, sterile box. It made us appreciate the buffet at the Argosy that’s for sure!
A few hopefully useful tips:
The Old Town is very busy at the best of times, so do check there are no cruise ships (with their hundreds of extra people!) in port when you plan to go.
You can get to the Old Town by bus number 6 which departs from opposite the President hotel, which is literally meters from the Argosy. Buy your tickets from the hotel’s shop, and scan it when you board the bus. Be warned, it starts off nice and quiet but by the time you get to Dubrovnik it’s absolutely rammed full!
There’s a scenic path around the headland into Lapland, where there a few bars and restaurants. Access to the path is through the gate found to the left of the swimming pool area, and then turn right to get to Lapad (and the Coral Beach Club and Copa Cabana beach). However, the path is very uneven so wear suitable shoes.
There are a few restaurants and shops a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. Go out the front entrance and take the first set of steps to your left.
