Royal Blue Hotel

My sister and I recently stayed at The Royal Blue and had an amazing time. Neither of us had been to Croatia and didnt have a lot of time so decided to just stay in the one hotel for the six nights rather than trying to cram the country in. But what we didnt realise was that this hotel is on a promenade so it feels like you are staying at three different hotels all at once, with its sister hotels all interconnected which was great. The bus out the front takes you to the old town and was so easy to use, making this hotel situated in a great location as it sits just out of the craziness of the old town but local enough. The atmosphere and vibe was great, didnt have many kids so was quiet and we had a an awesome night at Karaoke even though the host refused to sing. We described this experience to be like a cruise ship but on land, you had everything you needed, and walking down the promenade at night to all of the restaurants was beautiful and so safe. The room was massive and had the most amazing view over the sea, we had room to spread out and the cleanliness was faultless. I used Qantas points for the hotel but still thought it was good value for money simply because of all the facilities and the standard of service. The biggest win for us though was the guest relations team. My sister and I reached out to the team as we were lost with transfers and tours as we were overwhelmed with what to do. They were like our personal travel guides and travel agents for the stay, we had an itinerary created by Samantha before we even arrived. After flight delays it was a relief to see your name on a sign at the arrival gate and a safe female driver to the hotel. Samantha and Micaela were amazing, they organised a walking tour, private boat tour of the islands, sunset cruise on Karaka, oyster and wine tour and bookings to some of the most beautiful local seafood restaurants in and out of town. They both checked in with us to make sure we were ok daily and everything was going well, nothing was too much to ask. Samantha has already reached out and made suggestions for the next trip, this time I will be taking the kids and we cant wait.

Royal hotels have a great location. Our room was spacious & great views over the ocean. The staff were very friendly & attentive. The restaurant at the Royal Blue was a little disappointing - but lots to choose from along the promenade to Lapad. I was hugely disappointed with the gym facilities. At least 20 years old, many left broken & useless, as well as a poor layout & dirty. Unacceptable for a 5 star hotel. Management needs to do much better.
