If you want a drink after 9, the sports bar is your only real option
All in all, a fine hotel. Check-in staff were friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable. Air conditioning worked well. In general, the restaurant staff acted as if they did not want our business at all. Trying to get an after dinner drink was a challenge: we went to two different lounge areas, and although we were within opening hours, they made it clear they would prefer we move along to another place. Until we met Sofia in the sports bar! The bar, in spite of a world cup game on the television, was dull and quiet, with most people just scrolling on their phones. Sofia who was manning the bar, welcomed us with a great smile, and made us an amazing martini! She brightened our entire evening!

Enjoyable stay in Dubrovnik
Firstly I want to say that the hotel is in a great location with fantastic views, clean and with friendly helpful staff. However food and drinks are hugely overpriced . Breakfast had a good selection although most of the hot food items were cold . The pool area was lovely but there seemed to be no security as anyone could walk in from either side unchecked
Weekend at Dubrovnik
The Rixos Hotel in Dubrovnik enjoys a fantastic location in a beautiful bay. The view from the room is breathtaking. The food in the breakfast restaurant is tasty and varied, and the service is incredibly helpful. Dinner at the Libertas Fish Restaurant is beyond words, the fish and seafood paired with local wine are simply sublime. The entire team at the Rixos Dubrovnik Hotel was wonderfully prepared to welcome guests. My wife and I spent amazing weekend there. We highly recommend it.
Fell short
We recently stayed at the Rixos Hotel Dubrovnik and, unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to our expectations for a five-star property.
The biggest disappointment was that the air conditioning wasn’t working properly in the public areas, making the lobby and other shared spaces quite uncomfortable during the hot weather. The guest rooms and corridors also felt very tired and are in need of refurbishment, with the overall condition falling short of what we’d expected.
On a positive note, lunch at Mykorini was excellent. The food was fresh, delicious, and well presented, and the service there was friendly and efficient. It was definitely one of the highlights of our stay.
The hotel has a fantastic location and plenty of potential, but it would benefit greatly from updating its rooms and improving the air conditioning in the communal areas. With some investment, it could once again match the standard its reputation suggests.
