Rixos Premium Dubrovnik

Visited in July. Room is spacious but there is a definite smell of mold and worse when air conditioning is on. The hall smelled damp think it must be the carpets. We had to buy an air freshener to spray Air con wasn’t working in main areas and again looking at previous reviews it hasn’t worked for weeks. So bad with how hot it was and it being a 5 star hotel We probably should have just booked the local air b and b instead of spending thousands staying here….. I could have just walked right in and used the pool and facilities The locals and obvious friends of staff just come In and use the facilities. Groups of families with their own towels using the swimming pool , Kids running around. Spoke to manager and he said he can’t do anything about it! Apparently they have tried various deterrents and it doesn’t work. The security guards weren’t interested either, The locals or people from nearby beach come walking in they pitch up Their towels on the walls blocking your views from the sun beds! But as long as they are not using the sun beds the staff aren’t bothered! They don’t like groups of young lads coming in and they were always rounded up and told to Leave but local families were allowed to stay. And groups of random adults were allowed to stay So ye I will spend thousands staying here and it’s like a community pool! Never have experienced anything so mad in all my travels! How this hotel Lets this happen is truly bizarre Toilets at pool area needed more checks for cleanliness. Good standard of cleaning in rooms and room always done in a timely manner. Food was expensive especially lunch but was always great quality Music too loud by pool as well Not relaxing in any way if I wanted to go to a beach club I would have went to Ibiza They need to decide if they are the local community pool , a 5 star hotel or a loud beach club! Wouldn’t return
