Quietly situated in the picturesque Lapad Bay and overlooking the azure Adriatic Sea, this luxurious hotel enjoys one of the best positions in Dubrovnik. The city centre with its historical and cultural sights is less than 4 km away and three bus routes take guests within a 10-minute ride to the old town. The airport is at 23 km from the hotel. All guest rooms have modern amenities for a pleasant stay, and most of them include a balcony with stunning sea views. Guests might enjoy the varied dining offer at the hotel, which includes a restaurant and a lounge bar, apart from two chic bars where guests can admire the breath-taking views with a cocktail or a glass of fine wine. Guests can also relax at a wonderful wellness and spa centre with an indoor and an outdoor pool.
This is my honest opinion of our stay at this hotel:
Location: It is in a great location overlooking lapad beach, beautiful scenic views during sunrise, afternoon and sunset. Close to all amenities 5/5
Staff: Some of the friendliest staff members I have ever come across. All extremely polite, helpful and generally caring people. 5/5
Room: The room we got was hands down, one of the nicest rooms we've ever stayed in! Overlooking the pool and the bay, with the forest like mountains in the background - hands down the most ascetic room view I've experienced 👌🏻
Price of drinks: the price of drinks is standard for the area, not too expensive during happy hour which is good. 3-5 happy hour by the pool and 5-7 in the restaurant downstairs.
Overall, we had a fantastic holiday and this hotel is definitely being visited again in the future stays we have.
Excellent stay in a perfect location. Service was excellent. Will return for sure.
Wonderful hotel! Very clean, lovely staff and very close to the old town by public bus. the breakfast was delicious …lots of options. there is a great little beach area steps away.
Fabulous hotel, great food and wonderful staff. Our trip was part of our 49th wedding celebrations and our fourth stay at this hotel. Prosecco and flowers were in our room on arrival. What a joy to spend a week in this lovely hotel
Rated as a four star plus and part of the Jet2 indulgence range Hotel Kompas did not disappoint. From start to finish the staff were incredible. The room is four star but well maintained and housekeeping are brilliant in keeping it spotless and ensuring everything you need is there. The only niggle is the shower pressure which isn’t great but everything else is very good. Hair dryer, safe, mini bar, coffee facilities air con an endless supply of chocolates etc
Though the room is four star the rest is top notch. Lovely spa and indoor pool free to guests, an outdoor pool and bar area. Sun beds available for guests across the bay (5 minute walk), small gym and a brilliant lounge bar and restaurant. We did bed and breakfast and the breakfast was superb, lovely mix of pastries, cooked food, fruit, yoghurts, cereals and more. We ate once in the evening at the lounge bar having tapas which was also excellent.
The hotel is located a very short walk to the pebble beach and the incredibly blue sea and a short stroll to the various bars and restaurants in Lapad. Ten to fifteen minutes from the local bus stop where the number 6 can take you into Dubrovnik if you wish. The beach itself is nice but pebbly and its a shame the big sunset resort has closed down as that occupies a lot of the sea front and needs some tlc as its started to detoriate which takes a way a little from Lapads charm. Big tip take beach shoes and snorkel mask / goggles. The sea is so clear and pure the sea urchins love it and they hurt like hell if stood on. My son managed to do this but the restaurant manager performed emergency extraction on him and all was well. Another example of their dedication to ensuring guests have a great experience.
Lots of nice walks along the coast from the hotel and when you’ve finished grab a cocktail during happy hour (5-7) to begin to unwind.
If you are after a beach holiday and a hotel where you feel truly looked after then you can’t do better than Hotel Kompas. It really was brilliant and a special thanks to ‘Dr’ Lora for helping my son out 😂
