Quietly situated in the picturesque Lapad Bay and overlooking the azure Adriatic Sea, this luxurious hotel enjoys one of the best positions in Dubrovnik. The city centre with its historical and cultural sights is less than 4 km away and three bus routes take guests within a 10-minute ride to the old town. The airport is at 23 km from the hotel. All guest rooms have modern amenities for a pleasant stay, and most of them include a balcony with stunning sea views. Guests might enjoy the varied dining offer at the hotel, which includes a restaurant and a lounge bar, apart from two chic bars where guests can admire the breath-taking views with a cocktail or a glass of fine wine. Guests can also relax at a wonderful wellness and spa centre with an indoor and an outdoor pool.
We stopped off twice at this hotel for drinks and once for dinner. This truly was the best dining experience of my time in Dubrovnik - excellent vegan main and desert. Friendly staff, reasonably priced, lovely atmosphere with live music each night. While we weren’t guests of the hotel I can only imagine accommodation etc would be of a similar standard. A must try restaurant!
The Kompas had been recommended by one of the wonderful people at #AlwaysCroatia, our yacht charter company. We arrived a bit worn and early from overnight travels. We expected a wait but no, our room was ready. However, it wasn’t the standard room I booked, it was a suite with an amazing view. I’ll never know how that happened but so very thankful. As for the hotel itself. Very comfortable room. The staff were so helpful and welcoming. They were even kind towards my attempts at a few phrases in Croatian. Our room was quite comfortable. Facilities were first rate. We spent a good bit of time around the pool. Paulo, one of the pool bartenders really stood out. Knew our order the first day. He was a very nice young man.
Lovely hotel, would definitely recommend it. Service from the staff was excellent every day. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice and will make you an omlette if you wish. We never ate dinner there so can't comment on that. Live music on most nights. Happy hour on rooftop and in bars, which is good. The only negative points were a few things needed fixing in the room, just fixtures and fittings. Never told staff, maybe should of mentioned it to them. We never had a good view from our balcony but we never booked a sea view. So that was our fault. Shout out to Ratko the barman, running around outside serving drinks and very friendly. Would definitely stay again.
The hotel is set in a perfect location just half an hour from the airport and a short bus ride from Dubrovnik old town (bus 4 or 6). The local area has some lovely restaurants and bars on its doorstep and the most beautiful sea views and sunsets. Our room was a superior seaview which didn’t disappoint, fresh towels and room cleaned everyday. Even chocolates left at bedside each night!
We were half board and found that although the choice of evening meal was a little smaller than some hotels we’ve stayed at , the quality and flavour was fantastic and couldn’t be faulted. The staff were so friendly and helpful during our stay. Big shout to Lora and Justin who were particularly lovely and gave great service during our visit!
The only negative I would give is that non guests can also eat at the hotel off their main menu who were able to sit in other areas of the outside terrace which HB guest couldn’t , this seemed a little unfair on half board hotel guests.
Evening entertainment was very good.
The pool area was clean and well managed. Always able to get a sunbed and parasol. The only negative is the pool steps are not noticeable and you can easily trip and there’s no floor marking to indicate them.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anybody else looking to visit the area.
Beautiful hotel situated right on Sunset Beach. Reception on the 10th floor and the views are stunning. Hotel smells amazing and the vibe is chilled elegance. Rooms all facing the beach and balconies in the sun all day, however not all have sea views, so if this is important to you book a sea view room. Twin bed rooms are spacious and well equipped with tea/coffee facilities, mini fridge and safe. Some hangers (never enough). TV is rubbish, only a couple of English channels and very old programmes on it. Towels changed daily and turn down service with chocs left every night. All staff are friendly and helpful . Pool bar great nice food and great drinks - David and team lovely. Always able to get a sunbed no matter what time. Pool small, but sufficient. Breakfast buffet lovely, lots of choice. Area seems up and coming, legal dispute about sunset beach has left it in slight disrepair with lots of empty shops, but beach lovely , stones so need swim shoes. Nice walks either side of beach with lots of areas to swim. Lapad could have so much more, some nice restaurants but not many shops for a wander at night. Uber very efficient for trips into Dubrovnik or bus stop very nearby. Great hotel in great location
