Radisson Blu Resort and Spa

I was struggling with the decision whether to give this place 5 star but bottom line for me is if I would come back to it or not. In this case although trully amazing hotel the answer is probably no. I hope my detailed review is helpful.

The good Service is superb. Staff, all staff is friendly, attentive and proffessional. I have booked basic room which had carpet (didnt notice this at the time of booking my fault entirely) which I struggle with and avoid at all costs as I often have breathing issues by the morning due to dust. I asked at the reception if I could upgrade but the hotel was full so they were unable to accomodate at that time. The guy must have felt sorry for me as after one night I was sounding like I had a horrible cold. So he offered upgrade free of charge for the last 2 nights / as soon as superior room becomes available (those have wooden flooring). So I moved to a great room free of charge. This was very much appreciated. I also got a fridge magnet as I checked out which was a lovely gesture. The spa is excellent although steam room was not working due to refurbishment work. The Mint bar has great setting, cocktails and atmosphere - food too. Breakfast is great - good choice and no waiting or cooked dishes getting cold. Worth paying for breakfast if not included in the price. I have not eaten in Triton as it was too pricey and we visited some superb restaurants with much better pricing. But it does have amazing views and reviewers praise the food.

The bad It is not really beach front hotel as classed on Booking.com as there are over 100 steps to the beach - only way to go, no lifts and it is absolutely not sutable for people with any kind of mobility issues. Hotel is really loud. The external pool has music blasting most of the day. Some areas of the Mint bar different musics are mixing which is odd. There is a building site near by so you hear drilling and hammering more in some rooms than others depending where you are situated. It can also be heard at the spa if you are set on its terrace. Beach club Mistral just as you descend the stairs to the beach from the hotel is even worse. It is unpleasant to even have a drink there let alone stay on their beds for the day due the extremely loud music. Shame as it is very pretty. The basic rooms are more suited to Travellodge or Premier Inn at the airport rather than 5 star beach resort in Croatia. They are dark, small, dated with little bit odd set up (TV is kind of on the side wall so cant be watched from the bed) Bottom line - if superior room is too expensive for you prob would be better off staying in different cheaper hotel with higher class room. Needs to be said though the superior rooms are stunning - and in my view def worth paying extra for. They are bigger, views are breathtaking and balcony if they have it (not all do I think) is amazing for that first morning coffee.

Overall I think it is a great hotel - but if you are looking for easy access to the beach this is not really it. Also, unless you are paying for superior room you will be seriously underwhelmed.

What a wonderful Hotel and such lovely staff. Stayed for 7 nights. Room was great, comfy bed and excellent facilities. Breakfast was out of this world, what a choice and selection of different food. Chef's cooking to your order. Outdoor and indoor pool which was perfect if you wanted to get away from the heat. All the staff were great and nothing was a problem. Location is not that great but free shuttle service to town. All in all I really enjoyed our stay there. Thank-Tou Radisson Blu and your staff, you made our holiday a nice one.
