We had a really lovely stay at Hotel Ambasador Split. The hotel is beautiful, modern and in a fantastic location, with great views and easy access to the waterfront and the old town.
The room was very comfortable and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. One of the highlights for us was definitely the bar it was fantastic! The cocktails were excellent, and the bartenders can make pretty much anything you wish for. They were happy to make recommendations and really knew what they were doing.
Overall, a great hotel with excellent service, a beautiful setting and a fantastic bar. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back to Ambasador Split.
I’m incredibly disappointed by my experience at Hotel Ambasador. After checkout, I left my luggage in the hotel’s care while we had breakfast and waited for our private boat pickup. I later discovered approximately €10,000 worth of jewelry was missing, including irreplaceable sentimental pieces from family members who are no longer alive.
What made an already devastating situation worse was how unhelpful the hotel was afterward. They told me they reviewed CCTV and found no reason to accept responsibility, but never showed me the footage or provided meaningful help in understanding what happened.
I am deeply concerned this may have been organized theft involving outsiders and potentially people with knowledge of how luggage is handled at the hotel. I cannot prove who was involved, which is exactly why I filed an official theft report with Croatian police. The circumstances and the hotel’s response have left me extremely suspicious.
The matter is now with police for investigation.
I expected far more concern and assistance from a hotel of this caliber. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone traveling with valuable or sentimental belongings.
Gianna made the stay at the Ambassador! Gianna, was AWESOME to work with, she was insightful, energetic and her recommendations were OUTSTANDING! I would stay at the Ambassador because of Gianna! Thank you!
This is a fabulous hotel. It is very modern inside and out but stil manages to have a great athmosphere. We had a king room with sea view and a balcony. It is not a big room, but this was never an issue for us, and there is sufficient storage. The bed was in the middle of the room, facing out, with the table behind it. It offered great views on the port. The bed was extremely comfortable. The modern bathroom was also great, with a fantastic shower. The only thing we did not like was the two seats on the balcony, which were uncomfortable. Upon mentioning this, these were immediately replaced by chairs from the restaurant. And this set the tone for the service throughout our 4 night stay: absolutely brilliant. Service was professional, friendly, attentive. And that was true for everyone, from the reception to the bar, restaurant, and housekeeping. We espcially liked that when we left the room for breakfast, we could push a button for room service, and by the time we came back the room was done! The included breakfast was great too, with a buffet and a menu of ommeletts, eggs benedict, etc. which were fresly prepared. We also enjoyed the pool, the spa (one of the better massages we had for quite a while) and the bar (excellent and unique cocktails, good food options). This is obviously an expensive hotel, but you get what you pay for. If you are looking for a luxury stay in Split, this is the place to go to.
Overpriced. Front desk staff was less than pleasant. We got there early and our room wasn’t ready. Said they would text when the room was ready. Never happened. Rooms are poorly laid out. Furniture by the pool was worn out. At this price point, you should expect more. Glad we were only staying one night on our way through.
