Bay Gardens Hotel

Great place, Nice breakfast buffet. I would've rated it a 5 but the pillows weren't ready, we had to put the cases on ourselves and we had to call the front desk for towels. Details matter. Excellent otherwise.

I spent two nights at this hotel, and they were honestly the best two nights ever. The food was amazing, the drinks kept flowing and were expertly prepared, and the overall atmosphere was fantastic from start to finish.

What really made the experience special was the incredible staff. A special thank you to Avril, Zawick, and Quincy for their outstanding hospitality. They were friendly, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect.

The combination of excellent food, great drinks, and such warm, welcoming service made this a truly memorable stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway, and I can’t wait to return!

The hotel is a 2 star at best. It’s very run down and requires a major refurbishment. It remains in the 90s when it was built.

In August they still had New Year 2026 decorations up.

Staff are definitely hit and miss. Some are super friendly and some were truly miserable and bordering rude. There were only 2 that stood out. Salissa was one of them who is a Bell Hop that I ran to when I found a lizard in my room. She kindly came to my room and got rid of it and the other was Maureen. Those 2 are single handedly saving the customer service in this hotel. Both lovely members of staff.

The room was a standard king and was shabby, basic and dated. A positive is AC worked well however the negatives outweighed this. There was a gap under the door and to the right above the door which invited insects. I did what I could by covering it with a towel at night but this did not help me during the day when I was out. There were ants on the counter top where the fridge was so I could not store any food items there. The shower handle was broken. The water pressure in both the shower and hand basin taps were so bad that a shower took 3 times longer as it took ages to wash all the soap off.

As a vegan I chose to do bed and breakfast as I wasn’t confident that there would be any vegan options if I chose to do all inclusive. There wasn’t. Though I had a couple of conversations with some staff members they couldn’t quite seem to understand that Gluten Free does not automatically mean vegan and that vegetarian is not the same as vegan. The staff did not know allergen information such as whether there were milk or eggs in the breads or baked items and some seemed annoyed that I was asking so much questions, so by day 2 I stopped asking questions and just accepted that its my choice to be vegan. I ended up going to the supermarket and buying my own bread and butter to have toast in the mornings. When the same staff then saw me with my own bread and butter they seemed shocked and asked if I didn’t like the bread they had. This shows that the previous conversations I had with them regarding the said bread was not even taken seriously or remembered. The breakfast options for vegans were limited to fruit, salad and baked beans really. So if you are vegan/plant based this hotel is not for you.

I chose this hotel because this is where my family were staying and after seeing previous reviews and pictures it would never have been my first choice. I had hoped that it would have been better than the reviews. It wasn’t. I definitely would not stay here again.

As I had a night flight I went to reception to enquire about late check out. In the middle of telling me the options the member of staff answered the phone and began helping the person on the phone while I was standing there. No apology. Just mid sentence answers the phone and left me standing there. I ended up walking away because I cannot tolerate poor manners. To be honest her rudeness saved me from paying an extra 60 USD for this hostel. I appreciate that working in Customer Service isn’t easy but if you cannot manage the basics then a job in customer service is not for you.

This was my first visit to St Lucia and I really wish my first experience was not at this hotel. The only real positive is the location. It’s in a very good location and has hourly shuttles to their sister hotel and beach. Sunbeds are included which also a plus. However, if you’re looking for something a bit more luxurious with friendlier staff, try a different hotel because Bay Gardens Hotel is not where politeness and luxury reside. For the first time on holiday I could not wait to leave.
