The All-Inclusive, Adults-Only Bel Jou Hotel is set amid lush tropical gardens that are a haven for exotic birdlife, making it a perfect retreat for nature lovers and those wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of busier resorts. The vantage point from its location up on a hill provides outstanding views over Castries and the sparkling Caribbean Sea beyond.
Bel Jou Hotel is perfect for couples, singles and friends 18 years and older seeking a quaint location with classic St. Lucian charm and excellent value for money. This scenic oasis offers the warmest of welcomes, thanks to the inviting, club-like atmosphere and dedication of the long-term staff offering the best in St. Lucian hospitality.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived.
The food was excellent, with a great variety of delicious options throughout our stay. We also really enjoyed the games and activities on the property they were fun, engaging, and created a wonderful atmosphere for guests.
We also visited the pools and really enjoyed the cool, refreshing water on a hot day, which made our stay even more relaxing and enjoyable.
One of the highlights of our trip was on Monday when my partner and I participated in one of the games and were thrilled to win a prize! It made the experience even more memorable.
Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so enjoyable. Please extend our appreciation to all of the staff for their outstanding hospitality and hard work. We look forward to returning in the future and will happily recommend your hotel to family and friends.
Stayed for 10 days, visited hotel after recommendation from one of our sons and his wife.
Transfer from airport both ways arranged directly by hotel, very competive rates. Our taxi driver was Alex (JCF TAXI SERVICE) very friendly and informative about the island.
Hotel is kept very clean, gardens and pools immaculate., not too big and rather charming. We stayed in room 502, view was great, excellent shower. Housekeeping very good, thanks to Florina the chambermaid.
Food at the buffet was on the whole very good, breakfast nice, Xavier with a tune & a smile on the hotplate cooking eggs whatever way you wanted.
The food in the Hummingbird al la carte was very nice, we ate there numerous times and all the courses were very good. Afternoon cooking display from chef Alvin was excellent.
Visited Vigie beach, using the hotels courtesy minibus, nice beach that's worth a visit.
Also did a fantastic boat trip with Israel King Water Taxi Private Tours (I've done a separate review), this firm was recommended to us and it didn't disappoint a great day!.
Met some really friendly guests on this holiday, from Canada, Australia, UK, many laughs.
I think what makes this hotel, is what many reviewers have already stated, its the staff!
From The GM Dean who is very present downwards, I can't remember all the names but thank you to all the following (sorry for people I've omitted) who made our stay so friendly: Tanika,Janet,Mac,Princess,Jolie,Quincey,Mikey,Bella,Jahfree,Shawnelle.
Highly recommend this hotel for a friendly relaxing holiday.
What a wonderful boutique AI hotel!! The whole staff there makes you feel so welcome. I would rather stay here than those big AI places. It was clean and the food was delicious. It’s a must!!
An excellent value for money hotel. Set in the hills above Castries with amazing views, it means you don't have ready access to the beach, however a free shuttle bus was provided to get to the beach or town. Staff are all excellent (special shout out to Kasha in the Hummingbird, Joule who is possibly the happiest person we met and Viance for making sure the TV worked for the football). Hotel was clean and in June was very quiet, so easy to get sunbeds and restaurant bookings etc. Food was very good, we liked the quick bites for lunch at Lulu's and then the set menu at Hummingbird. Loved the local community approach of the hotel and how they looked after staff, they even had a staff sports day while we were there which was great fun to watch. Minor Negatives of the area/time of year - quite a few mossie bites, weather a bit changeable (but hot and OK as June is off-season) and the beach wasn't the most picturesque we've been to. Overall though for the price paid the hotel and staff did not disappoint.
The best vacation, love to all who treated us with care and love
