This was our third time at this resort within the last 18 months. We came for a family vacation and had the best time. Even though a lot of renovations were going on you didn’t know. Yes our usual buffet was closed but the other one was just a plentiful. What I loved about dinner was we were able to try all the fine dining restaurants which was great. They had lots of activities on the beach day and night and still had the shows that are usually in the auditorium just in the sports bar. While every single member of the staff couldn’t have been nicer I want to shout out to a few that went above and beyond: Kiki, Yannick, Amanda, Chocolate Mr. Nice, Sheneika, Doreen, Taneka. They took such great care of us. As for our room WELL! I was trying to book our usual that overlooks the pool and couldn’t. When I got there I saw it was being renovated so I thought ok no biggie. They had in 3329 and 3330. Oceanfront!!! What a gorgeous view and room. The staff that takes care of the room and refills the fridge were spectacular! I even got a chocolate on my pillow at turndown. We didn’t want to leave. 😢 We can’t wait to go back in the spring and see how everyone is and how everything looks.

Loved the gym facilities - clean and good choice of equipment 
The salon did a great job with my daughter's hair and went above and beyond to bring in hair extensions
The staff go out of their way to make sure you are ok and ask questions about your stay - they really are the stars at the hotel!
We weren't pressured into a "special breakfast". Even with the $100 discount offer on excursions we didn't want to waste our time on a sales pitch and were pleased this wasn't forced on us.

Cons:
Couldn't use hotel hairdryer in room, it short circuited the electrics - twice. The *urgent* call out took over an hour on both occasions.
Need to tip - you undoubtedly get better service if you tip - as Brits we aren't used to this but we set aside $30 per day - for breakfast, pool drinks, lobby staff, cleaners and dinner staff plus any extra activities such as water sports 
I was denied 4 eggs for an omelette and was told the limit was 3 at a time. A guy the next day got a 6 egg white omelette because he tipped.
Same as above but at the pool bar - I was refused an iced mudslide as it was near the end of service but a couple got them after me.
Lack of duty of care - I injured myself on a sea urchin when on a morning catamaran trip - the team brought us back early but we were left to our own devices to seek help from the lifeguard - there was no follow up 
Service in the steak and lobster restaurant wasn't great. First time my steak was rare instead of medium (and inedible), second time only half my order arrived and I ended up visiting the bar for water and wine as we'd waited so long. 
Booking excursions...
a) complimentary shopping trip - we thought we were going to high end shops and a craft market - driver took us other side of airport to a mates shop where we didn't buy anything, then to another mate's shop at Blue Diamond shopping. He eventually took us to Rose Hall Shopping mall which was great (and only because we asked him to!)
We stayed in two rooms. We reported the broken lock in room 3319 three times. It was never fixed.
The two lots of $600 vouchers given to us were a waste of time - we tried to use in one of the hotel gift shops but we're told it wasn't applicable because that gift shop, despite being in the hotel, isn't apparently affiliated with the hotel...
The spa costs for a massage were excessively overpriced ($200+). I usually have a massage when away but couldn't bring myself to spend so much!
Evening entertainment is a bit meh. Very family orientated and the paid for options - Dolce and Rocktail didn't really appeal (but hotel lobby singers were excellent)
Take bug spray - I was bitten a lot during breakfast!

Spent a great week at Iberostar Suites with family. Beautiful property and beach, with lots of palapas, and Great Staff. Even though this property is undergoing upgrades and the buffet & lazy river were not available, access to the Iberostar Waves next door provided a variety of pools, entertainment, and restaurants to satisfy our needs. 5***** to DUTCHIE on the Waves side!  
One deceiving factor is the "$600.00 Resort Credit" offered per couple. This is a "BAIT & SWITCH" TACTIC, as this credit is broken down into $25.00 increments, where one MUST SPEND US$100.00 at each participating Resort Store to be able to apply and submit a $25.00 credit voucher?  WHAT SORT OF CREDIT IS THIS, IF THE CREDIT CANNOT BE COMBINED & APPLIED TO ONE OF THE RESORT AMENITIES for their supporting guests? USELESS!!!  What this BAIT & SWITCH TACTIC actually did was encourage our group and others  to take our shopping needs outside of the resort.

I visited Iberostar Rose Hall Suites in October 2024, and it was the worst experience I've had at a 4.5-star resort. For two nights, the air conditioning didn't work. I reported it on the second day and requested a fan, but I was repeatedly told someone would come to check it. By the third day, the air was finally fixed.

The tub in my room was filthy, making it impossible to enjoy a soak, and the shower was in poor condition as well. By the end of my stay, I felt labeled as a complainer; the staff at the front desk treated me dismissively. I spoke with the manager about my issues with the air and the bathroom, and in response, I was offered a gift from the gift shop, which didn’t feel adequate given the circumstances.

Not worth the money

My daughter had money stolen from a  locked safe within 2-3 hours of checking in. The only thing taken was all their cash. Security was involved, Police were diverted for two days. Police were of no help and appear corrupt. I would avoid Iberostar resorts in all of Jamaica. They had very poor security practices and theft is beginning to run rampant in their resorts. We have traveled to Jamaica many times overs the past 25 years and this last trip may well have been our last to one of our favorites places. It’s sad that the actions of a few bad actors are going to impact the amount of tourism and guests coming in to Montego Bay in the future. We had a group of 25 people., None who will return and all whom will be quick to disparage Iberostar in all of Jamaica
