- Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites

Located on the lively island of Jamaica, the resort can be found on the coast of one of the best beaches in the world. It is the perfect choice for those who want to experience an unforgettable family or couples’ vacation in Jamaica. In this hotel guests can unwind and relax, play sports and enjoy nights filled with music and dancing. In addition, its proximity to the centre of Rose Hall allows guests to get to know traditional Jamaican life and enjoy all the entertainment that this beautiful town has to offer. Gorgeous beaches, beautiful gardens, and ocean views from the rooms and hotel facilities and other natural attractions that visitors can enjoy surround the hotel. One of the most recommended places to visit is just an hour away: Dunns River Falls in the town of Ocho Rios. At the resort, all rooms are perfectly appointed with all the luxurious details. Each spacious room features a large terrace for admiring the splendid scenery.
Suites is a very nice all-inclusive resort with several a la carte dinner restaurants and a delicious variety at the buffets (breakfast/lunch/dinner). The fresh juices were healthy and refreshing.
This property is clean and well-maintained (as evidenced by our comment to replace a light bulb in our bathroom and tighten the toilet seat hardware -- which was done the same day! Thank you.) I liked the new neutral palette of paint in the guestroom (vs. the previous reds and purples).
We enjoyed the central hallway decor for the FIFA games and the enthusiasm to show the matches, which were available on the big screen while we were there. We noticed a new "Circus" show on the entertainment line-up with carnival games available in the Black River Theater beforehand. (Personally I thought the costumes should have been more appropriate for a "family" environment, less revealing please.)
There have been several improvements since Hurricane Melissa, including permanent wooden beach umbrellas (now covered with "plastic" straw to withstand the wind and weather), and a new "Jerk Hut" on the beach. Further down the beach at Iberostar Waves hotel area there is an inflatable for ocean swimming fun!
My family and I recently stayed at Iberostar Jamaica with a group of 35 people, and we had an incredible experience from start to finish.
The resort itself was beautiful, the food was consistently excellent, and every staff member we encountered made us feel genuinely welcome. Coordinating a trip for a group this size isn’t easy, but everything came together seamlessly.
The biggest reason for that was our concierge, Shonyae. From the moment we arrived, she made sure every detail was taken care of—from organizing our cabana rentals to checking in with us throughout our stay to make sure everyone had what they needed. She made our vacation completely stress-free.
What truly sets Shonyae apart, though, happened after our trip ended. I didn’t realize I had left my wallet at the resort until I was back home in Philadelphia. I reached out to her, and instead of simply directing me to lost and found, she personally searched the property, located my wallet, and worked with the Iberostar team to make sure it was safely returned to me.
She absolutely did not have to go that extra mile, but she did—and that speaks volumes about the kind of person she is and the level of service Iberostar provides.
If you’re considering staying at Iberostar Jamaica, I highly recommend it. Great food, beautiful grounds, outstanding staff, and service that doesn’t end when you check out.
Thank you to the entire Iberostar team, and a special thank you to Shonyae for making our family vacation one we’ll never forget. This is what true customer service looks like.
As IHG members who booked directly through IHG, we chose this hotel expecting the exceptional service and accommodations associated with a five-star resort. Unfortunately, our experience fell far below those expectations.
Upon arrival, we were assigned connecting rooms that were in unacceptable condition.
Our concerns included the following:
In addition to the issues with our rooms, we encountered serious cleanliness concerns throughout the resort.
My husband discovered bugs inside multiple packaged food items displayed on the left shelf of one of the food areas. We have videos documenting this. He immediately reported it to Guest Services, and staff appeared very concerned. We noticed the affected food items were promptly removed later that day, only to be returned the following day.
We also observed bugs in the fruit being served at the buffet. We have photographs documenting this as well.
After numerous unsuccessful attempts to have our concerns addressed, the supervisor on duty, Shaunavon, finally listened to our situation and moved us to ocean-view rooms on another side of the resort in rooms 3409 and 3410. We sincerely appreciate Shaunavon’s professionalism and compassion. The difference was immediately noticeable. The new rooms were significantly cleaner, better maintained, and reflected the quality we had expected from the beginning of our stay.
Unfortunately, even after relocating, our experience continued to be frustrating. Housekeeping repeatedly failed to clean our rooms. For two consecutive days, we had to contact the front desk and Guest Services multiple times through phone calls, in person, and through the hotel app. On the first day, housekeeping did not arrive until nearly 6:00 p.m. On the second day, we again had to repeatedly request service before housekeeping finally arrived later that afternoon.
Overall, the condition of our original rooms, the repeated maintenance failures, the lack of responsiveness from hotel staff, the housekeeping issues, and, most concerning, the food safety issues made for an extremely disappointing stay. This is not the level of quality or service we expect from a five-star property or from a hotel affiliated with IHG.
What a highlight of our resort stay! Kimeisha, the waitress at the poolside who served us, was incredible- welcoming, knowledgeable about the menu and so attentive to our group. She handled everything with grace; she made us feel like VIP's. Her hospitality is a big reason this hotel feels like home. Thank you for your wonderful service!
Overall this is a fine hotel for what it is- a budget all inclusive. The staff are generally nice, and the property is fairly rough at the moment in terms of appearance but they were painting and making some efforts. The beach was clean and easy to fine chairs. Food was overall fairly good. AC in the room was fairly bad, drinks at the pool can take a while for sure, and the general crown is more of a Blue collar type (nothing wrong with that just stating it)
