i’ve always enjoyed going to iberostar. I’ve been there three times. My favorite part is going down to the beach and laying watching the ocean breeze and interacting with the hustlers on the beach. They are very entertaining and let you see the true insides of Jamaica. they’ve always been so friendly like the ambassadors of Jamaica welcoming us there. God knows the staff of Iberostar pretty much ignores you. I have learned this year that they have been treating the hustlers very bad not letting them come to sell their wares. saddens me because I really want to see them, so unfortunately, we have chosen another place to stay for January 2027 tripthis year. hopefully Iberostar gets their act together and realizes a lot of us that come there Enjoy going to the beach and interacting with the hustlers. hopefully they soon realize that the hustlers are just trying to do their job too. I think there’s room for both of them. They stay in the water all day rarely coming up on the beach to make a sale. It’s sad that in such a poor country they try to keep those people down and not let them make their living. I hope others that still choose to go to Iberostar stick up for the hustler’s rights.. I have met some really nice people down there and they’re always friendly. They will talk to everyone, but if you choose not to talk to them, they do go away.. if you get the opportunity to visit with the hustlers, you will be surprised at what they know and what their lives are like. There’s room for everyone in the world. I hope I hear in the next year that things change there because I would really to come back for my 2028 trip
A Lovely Holiday With Some Areas to Improve

We recently spent 9 nights at the resort and, overall, had a lovely holiday. There were definitely some positives, but also a few areas that we feel could be improved.
🛏️ Rooms & cleanliness
Unfortunately, our arrival didn’t get off to the best start. Our first room wasn’t ready, so we were given a twin room for the night. It wasn’t as clean as we would have expected, so we were pleased when we were able to move into another room which was much more suitable for a couple and had a much better view.
However, cleanliness remained an issue throughout our stay. The floors in particular were very dirty. Housekeeping came almost every day and mopped, but the floors still seemed dirty afterwards, leaving our feet black and with bits of dirt on the bottoms of them.
There was one day, however, when our room received a really thorough clean and it was spotless. The cleaner even folded our clothes, which was such a lovely and thoughtful touch and really stood out to us.
🍽️ Food & restaurants
The food was one of the highlights of our stay. There was a really good selection every day and we always found plenty of things we enjoyed.
We particularly loved Uncle Tony’s. We both really enjoyed the food and the romantic atmosphere made it a lovely evening for us as a couple.
We also tried the Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, we left feeling a little disappointed with the portion sizes and ended up going to the buffet afterwards.
🏖️ Pool & beach
The pool was lovely and we really enjoyed spending time there. There were also various activities taking place around the pool each day, which created a nice atmosphere and were enjoyable to watch.
The beach was also beautiful. One downside was being approached by people trying to sell things, and we also encountered people who appeared to be selling drugs on the beach, which made us uncomfortable.
👥 Staff & atmosphere
This was probably one of the more disappointing aspects of our stay. While there were some lovely members of staff, we did find some of the waiters and other staff to be quite cold or rude. On some occasions, it felt as though they didn’t really want to be there, which is unfortunate as friendly service can make such a difference to your holiday.
We also noticed quite a lot of people smoking weed around the resort. This wasn’t something we expected to see so frequently, particularly with families and children around, and we felt it was a downside to the overall atmosphere.
🔨 Resort maintenance
There was some repair and maintenance work taking place around the resort. This is completely understandable given the hurricane that affected Jamaica last year, so we don’t feel this should necessarily be held against the resort. It’s simply something to be aware of if you’re visiting while the work is ongoing.
❤️ Overall
Despite the negatives, we did have a lovely holiday and there were plenty of things we enjoyed. The food selection, pool, beach and especially Uncle Tony’s were highlights for us.
The main things we feel need improvement are room cleanliness, consistency of housekeeping and the attitude of some staff. If these areas were addressed, we feel the overall experience could be significantly better.
We would still look back on our 9-night stay with some really lovely memories, but we do think there is room for improvement to make the resort experience match the expectations guests have when booking a holiday here.
This holiday was unbelievable staff where extremely kind and helpful especially Jermaine from the entertainment team invited us to play volleyball and made it 10 times more enjoyable
