We stayed at Kalinago Beach Resort the beginning of September 2026.
We arrived after a long flight from Gatwick (via St Lucia). Driving up to the hotel, the hill is very, very steep but we soon got used to it! The hotel was like a ghost town, there was no-one around bar the receptionist, no guests, no staff, the bar had closed at 7 pm (I guess due to no guests or very few guests). We checked in and shown to our room. Room was very clean, large and the view over the ocean was fabulous. The bathroom was clean, we always had hot water. Cleaning daily was to a high standard. Summarise the room, it was good and we had no issues at all all week. The pool was super warm and the sunbeds were fine. Only 2 sun umbrellas but the pool isn't massive and as we were the only ones whoever used the pool we had no probs sitting wherever we liked! The beach is lovely, there are a couple of beach bars, La Plywood serves delicious food. Sea is warm and calm, The entrance to the sea is a bit shingly so take your water shoes. Watersport's - there is kayaking there complimentary. We went in off season so no cruise ships and we only saw one rum runner party boat come in which was noisy. The beach visited by locals who bring their own music and it can sometimes be a battle between hotel pool bar music and the beach music but it was a good vibe and people enjoyed themselves. There was no evening entertainment when we were there which was a tad disappointing but, again, it was off season. Food - we only had breakfast which was fine, great service and the views over the sea at breakfast were amazing. Pool Bar service attentive and drinks good. The only thing we found a bit meh were empty bottles of Lager by the beach entrance which were not cleared away and left for a few days!!! If you are looking for an ultra quiet resort (except for the beach), little entertainment and need a get away from it all break, this could be for you but it is basic and you do pay for what you get. It was quite good value really. We visited other hotels which were double the price and the Kalinago had the better beach except for those on Grand Anse beach (think Spice Island, Cinnamon Beach, Coyaba and Silver Sands (the last being amazing but 4 times the price). Once we got over the shock of being 2 out of the 4 guests at the hotel, we embraced the experience and it's not often you have a Caribbean hotel all to yourself. Shout out to Lakisha, Deslin, Roxanne and all the staff who were pleasant and went the extra mile to give great customer service.
We spent 2 weeks at this fabulous hotel. This small and friendly hotel sits right on one of Grenada’s best beaches Morne Rouge (BBC Beach). This is the 2nd time we have stayed here and what a welcome we received as returning guests. The rooms are basic however they are spotlessly clean. They are a very good size with kettle, fridge, air conditioning, safe and we always had fresh towels and always hot water. We had full breakfast included which was great, so much choice and all cooked to order. The staff are so friendly and attentive ……Deslin, Roxanne, Lorraine and Nakisha to name a few . We would like to say a massive thank you to Julia the hotel Owner/Manager for making our stay such a memorable one. We will definitely be back!!
We booked Kalinago for a very last minute trip in March and we were a little concerned about some of the reviews we read, but we had a fabulous time! Yes the hotel is a little dated and could probably do with a refresh but for us, the positives far outweigh any negatives. Our room was a good size with a gorgeous sea view. It was clean, had comfy beds, great aircon, lots of hot water and a fridge for some cold drinks. There was always a great selection of food at breakfast. The staff absolutely make this hotel …. Deslin and Lucille were outstanding! The beach is beautiful, we thought it was the best on the island. Yes the Rhum Runner comes into the bay some days but that didn’t trouble us at all. You get what you pay for and for us Kalinago hit the spot.

The beds are fit for the bin there is a piece of wood screwed to the wall to try and keep them together they are so uncomfortable.
Breakfast ok nothing special we did not bother to try the lunch and no pm meals
It’s in a very quiet neighbourhood to get out it’s a very steep hill to walk up
Noise from bar next door very loud when it’s open
Swimming pool is very dirty thick grease all around out side there were dirty plasters and tiles on the floor for the few days we were there not been hoovered once we decided not to go in.

The hotel was dated and the beds were very uncomfortable. Need new mattresses! Toilet didn’t flush well at all. However, all that aside the beach was beautiful, the staff were amazing! Shout put to Deslin,Cutly and all the others. I will definitely be back providing they have new beds. The food and variety of restaurants around was great. Nice and close to Grande Anse. Has pool with swim up bar. Love love this island!
