There are many fantastic places in the world to return to but we find ourselves back at the Coyaba in November/December February/March.  I never tire of my obsession with their rainforest; watching the warm rain rolling down to the harbour and along the beach as well as visiting the waterfalls. I feel my stress seeping away on the waves.

An amazing "Old School" holiday!
We had two blissful weeks at this wonderful peaceful hotel.
The service was second to none. The staff were so welcoming, efficient and courteous and nothing was too much trouble.
We had an immaculate sea view room with perfect air-conditioning and ceiling fan and just a stone's throw from the beautiful Grand Anse beach. 
We had paid for the Premium plus upgrade and certainly felt special. We had spa treatments daily, daily watersports (spotted a green sea turtle whilst kayaking along), trips to the Underwater Sculpture Park, Snorkelling at Flamingo Bay, St.George's Market Day and unlimited premium food and drinks. Golf green fees were also included.
A holiday to be remembered in all aspects but what made this truly special was the genuine warmth of the welcome we recived from all members of staff.

TWO WEEKS OF TRANQUILITY.

We visited in March for a 10 day stay.  Scuba diving was the main reason for the trip but also some much needed warmth and sunshine after a grey and wet UK.  We chose Coyaba because of its location and also the proximity to the dive centre.  We had all previously visited Grenada some years ago.  I can't add anything to recent reviews and Mark T has probably said all I wanted to.  I should add that the staff are all fantastic and exceptionally friendly and helpful.  We liked the fact that this is a family owned and run resort and our view is that it punches above its weight in terms of quality, food and experience.  Perhaps the most telling thing was the number of return visitors, as others have noted.  We are very likely to join them in the future!

Excellent and would recommend

We went to Coyoba for spring break, with our boys (ages 12 and 15) and it was about perfect. The resort was very nice, clean, and the location was great. Access to the beach was incredible, and the place was laid-back and quiet. Our boys had a great time. They enjoy the simplicity of being outside and enjoying nature and activities that way, and are not in need of constant entertainment. Beaches, tennis courts, pools, shuffleboard : all were great for them.

The only "issue" we had was a cranky group who complained to the staff about our son feeding a stray cat on the property - but only because they thought he should "leave it alone and not hurt it." Our son is about the biggest animal lover in the world, and even volunteers at a cat shelter. We heard the same group later complain to security about a group of college-age kids on the beach: "It's like it's spring break out there or something!"  Some people....

That said, the facilities manager assured us our kids were perfectly great guests and took special care to always stop by our table or find us on the beach and see if we needed anything. 

Food is on par with what you would have on cruise ships. It was perfectly acceptable. (In fact, some of it was quite delicious). The all-day poolside menu (and room service) is sometimes a bit slow. Bar service was great. 

Without a doubt we will be back. It's the laid-back, relaxed sort of place we look for.

Great time at Coyaba

The AI summary is just about spot on so there is no need to repeat it. The hotel attracts retired Brits which make up probably more than 75% of the guests. It is not really a hotel for children. A large number of people have been previously, some up to seven times, which says a lot about how people feel about the hotel. Special mention for David, the hotel trip organiser, who will tailor make your trips for you by taxi even arranging for taxi drivers he knows with similar interests to yours (eg birds). Better value than the group tours. Also special mention for the Sunday evening singer, much better than the average hotel singer by a mile and would not be out of place at Glastonbury with her amazing voice. Any talent spotters out there?
