The resort offers a choice of four secluded beaches, making this an ideal choice for sun lovers to escape the crowds and completely switch off and unwind. The island of Antigua is known for its laid back charm, and you'll find the atmosphere at the Hawksbill is completely in keeping.
The hotel itself presents a welcoming array of traditional Antiguan style bungalows dotting the shoreline. Garden bungalows are twin or double an offer attractive garden views. All have en suite facilities and feature a safe, ceiling fan and mini fridge. Superior sea view rooms and bungalows are available at a supplement.
The Hawksbill offers a perfect mix of amenities to offer guests the chance to unwind as well as some choices for leisure and amusement. In addition to the choice of beaches and a hotel pool, you will also be able to take advantage of the Wellness Centre. There is also choice of two restaurants and bars and a delicious selection of dishes and refreshments to tempt you.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

An absolutely beautiful, beautiful place!
The staff were some of the friendliest we’ve ever met on holiday. A special shout-out to Brad (my partner is also called Brad), Dalston and the gentleman at the beach bar who was absolutely fantastic at making cocktails. Everyone was so friendly and genuinely couldn’t do enough for us.
This was my first time abroad while pregnant (23 weeks), so I was a little apprehensive beforehand, but honestly, I didn’t need to be! The staff were incredible and made everything so easy. The mocktails were also insanely delicious — I genuinely didn’t even miss having the real thing!
The Room
Our room was really large and spacious, with a lovely sea view. We stayed in room 14, which was an easy walk down to the beach and pool.
One thing to be aware of is that you need to make sure your doors and windows are closed by around 5:30pm, as they do fogging around the resort to deal with mosquitoes. We actually thought this was a good thing, but it’s worth knowing so you’re not caught out.
The bed was really comfortable and the air conditioning was great. We were allowed to leave it on during the day, which meant the room stayed nice and cool when we were popping in and out. I was worried about being too cold with the AC, especially being pregnant, but that wasn’t an issue at all.
The outside shower was also such a lovely touch!
The Food
The food was always super fresh, with different theme nights and plenty of choice for everyone. I can imagine people who are really fussy eaters, or only like traditional British beige food, might struggle a little, but if you like food, enjoy different cuisines and like trying new things, the food definitely won’t let you down.
Breakfast was delicious too. The omelettes made fresh every morning with whatever fillings you wanted were amazing. And the French toast… French kiss 😘
Quiet & Relaxing
We went at the end of June/beginning of July and it was SO quiet, which we absolutely loved.
There was no 5am rush for sun loungers! There was always one available on the beach (any of the beaches) and around the pool too. The poolside service was always great and we loved that you could take your drinks into the pool and down to the beach.
The view from the pool was gorgeous and we never had to worry about being surrounded by people. There was so much space and it was just really peaceful and relaxing.
The Wildlife
We LOVE creatures great and small, so this was a massive bonus for us.
The pigs at Eden Beach were an absolute delight for me. I loved watching them bathing in the sand and sea! The ducks were hilarious and really friendly too.
There were also so many beautiful birds around, including bananaquits, Carib grackles and hummingbirds. We loved sitting and listening to them and watching them flying around.
We also saw stingrays in the ocean and even spotted some cuttlefish while snorkelling. So honestly, don’t feel like you have to pay to go to Stingray City. We saw stingrays just snorkelling off the beach in the wild, which was much more exciting for us.
There were also loads of conches to see.
The Beaches
The beaches were some of the most beautiful we’ve ever seen. Quiet, tranquil, clean and that gorgeous clear blue water you imagine when you think of the Caribbean.
The water was warm and so inviting. Honestly, writing this review is making us wish we were still there!
If you like snorkelling further out or plan on using the rocks to get into the sea at Eden Beach, I would definitely recommend bringing water shoes. There are quite a lot of black sea urchins around the rocks and you really wouldn’t want to stand on one.
Eden Beach is a little more of a walk to get to, but it was definitely the quietest of the beaches. It’s also the only nudist beach in Antigua, but honestly, don’t let that put you off! It was so quiet when we were there that it really wasn’t an issue at all.
Overall
We absolutely loved our stay at Hawksbill. It was exactly the kind of holiday we needed — beautiful beaches, amazing wildlife, lovely food, friendly people and plenty of peace and quiet.
And being 23 weeks pregnant, I couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing first trip abroad while pregnant. We genuinely didn’t want to leave!
This is an absolutely stunning location. The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful, the food was delicious, the rooms were clean and well maintained. I would honestly give this place 6 stars if I could.
We had an amazing stay at Hawksbill Resort Antigua. I am a bit nervous in the sea but a big thank you to Gerald and Fenton at the water sports hut. They were so kind and helpful with the Hobbie Cat, kayaking, and snorkelling gear. The restaurant staff were exceptionally attentive and kept our water glasses filled. A special shout-out to Amit, who always made time for every customer no matter how busy he was—we loved our chats about cricket and football! Whilst we heard some complaints, in my opinion there is plenty of choice across all the restaurants, and you can book the Seagrapes restaurant twice a week. We celebrated our 40th Anniversary with a special meal, and it is definitely worth pushing the boat out for! Our room was right on the beach but it only took about 2/3 minutes max to walk to facilities plus it was very quiet in the Royal Palm area. Entertainment is subtle and finishes about 9.30pm, no Tv's (but who needs one when the views are this good) strong internet connection in rooms and on beach. Wildlife is unbelievable, even seeing a turtle.
Quick tip: Make sure to cover your drinks with napkins if you both leave the table, otherwise the local birds will finish your drinks for you!
We stayed at the Hawksbill resort last year. September 2025. We liked it so we returned this September.
The hotel is very relaxing and friendly. The resort grounds and beaches are beautiful. The staffs were extremely pleasant and helpful. They greeted us with “Welcome Home”. Everyone let us felt like we were at home and not at a hotel.
Staffs at the Bar: David, Dalston, Akila and Brad. The Restaurant staffs: Myra, Wendy, Bernadine, Jacinth, Serina, Julian, Voreen, and Marie. The Cleaning Staffs: Janet and Sheneese. The porters Kahdeem and Gregg. I requested in advance the same accommodation we had last year and got it. Thanks to the Administrative team.
The entertainment was good as it was diverse, we especially liked DJ Penton. Loved the vibe and humour he gave to the evenings. Thanks you for the shout out, our wedding anniversary.
The Fire Man entertainment on Sunday night was very good.
Overall we had a very good stay at the Hawksbill.
Thanks to all the wonderful staff we had no complaints.
