This is definitely not a 5 star hotel. The check in process is abysmal and the reception staff really need training in customer service. We got to the hotel at 1pm and had asked for early checkin as part of the booking process but they kept saying checking was 3pm which is fine but they could not even tell us when the room would be ready. So we left to visit the souk and on coming back were given a room which had a disgusting smell and had stains on the mirror and hair from the previous occupant on the bedside table so quite clearly had not been cleaned. When we complained the hotel manager kept saying the hotel was full and the only room available was a downgraded room from what we had paid. It was only after the customer liaison got involved that we got a room that was habitable. All in all we wasted a whole afternoon just checking in. We also tried the pizza at the pool bar for lunch on one of the days and it was the worst food we had all through Morocco and the price of food was extortionate. Whilst some of the breakfast staff and housekeeping staff are polite and friendly the majority of staff at this hotel need training on customer service. The pool area and grounds of the hotel are nice but the rooms are dated. Also be aware of the taxis waiting directly outside the hotel as they are scammers and will charge double to triple the taxi fare and we even got dropped off somewhere else so they could get their commission. Better to get taxis from further up the road. We will not be returning to this hotel and have been put off booking a Sofitel in the future.
I would like to congratulate the female receptionists who were on shift at 10 PM on Thursday 17th of September for their professionalism, manners and kindness. While organising our taxi, we witnessed a very rude, entitled and verbally aggressive guest who demanded a check-in at 10PM despite the hotel being fully booked and said he travelled the world and insulted the Moroccan hospitality and culture, also claiming that the girls talk behind his back while we were present and we saw the girls handled the situation gracefully. We would also like to thank all the staff for their courtesy, hard work and we invite the management to implement a zero tolerance policy against verbally abusive people because this situation not only harms the mental health of staff but also of guests as I personally became very agitated and trigged by the rude guest’s behaviour and in 2026 nobody is our slave but we are all here to respect each other and enjoy the short time we have.
My wife and I stayed here from 20th to 31st August.We had an initial problem with the room we got, but after couple of days, "Wiam" at reception resolved our issue. She was excellent and highly professiional in resolving our issue. Her comms was excellent and she kept us informed at all times. A big thanks to her for making our vacatiton what we envisaged! Thanks for room change with an an actual view! You did a great job.
Also, a special mention to the wonderful housekeeping staff....our room was cleaned to perfection evey day. Thanks to Medhi & Zahira, and their wonderful smiles! Also, thanks to Faisal at "La Plage" for lunch.
Regarding the hotel, the pool area is superb and my wife also enjoyed a couple of the Spa experiences,

OMG, I am so pleased that i stayed at this hotel.
The ambience, staff, rooms, restaurants, poolside, beach and food and drinks were absolutely amazing.
Massive shout out to all of the hard working staff especially ayoub ameur who made breakfast time so enjoyable. How the guys at the beach and pool worked in the heat and always had smiles on their faces. Fantastic humour as well.
I would without a doubt recommend this hotel. No request was ever an issue.
Reception staff were so helpful and even took time out to ask how i was feeling. as i came down with a cold.
I was sad when my holiday came to an end. Perfect for solo traveller and i will be back next year. Thank you so very much xx
We had such a lovely stay at Sofitel Agadir Thalassa & Spa and honestly didn’t want to leave! From the moment we arrived, everything felt so special and we were made to feel incredibly welcome.
We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a beautiful suite, which was such a lovely surprise and really made our stay even more memorable. The room was perfect, the pool was beautiful and so relaxing, and we really enjoyed the restaurants and the food throughout our stay. Everything was just exactly what we could have hoped for.
But what really made the experience for us was the people. A very special thank you to Omar, the Housekeeping Manager, who genuinely went above and beyond to look after us. He was always checking in to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed, and his kindness and attention to detail really stood out. It’s those little personal touches that make a holiday so much more memorable.
We came away feeling completely relaxed, well looked after and with such lovely memories of our time there. We would absolutely come back and would highly recommend Sofitel Agadir Thalassa & Spa to anyone looking for a special stay in Agadir.
