This hotel is located in a superb palm-fringed bay, on a magnificent beach of fine golden sand. The white city of Agadir is the oasis of the south, where an exceptional alliance reigns between the Arab, Berber and Tuareg cultures. The hotel is a genuine jewel of the Atlantic coast. Its architecture, refined interiors and its riad inspired by the Caravanserai form a harmonious combination. For evening entertainment there is a casino and a disco on hand. Themed dinners are offered as part of the evening entertainment. This hotel offers guests the option of combining business with pleasure and provides all the advantages of a large business centre. This hotel is an ideal venue for land-based and water sports.
We have never been to Agadir and we were looking forward for our family break. Check in - we’ve arrived early and was not checked in early. I wasn’t expecting to have this done but some hotels are ready for you earlier. The grounds are nicely groomed, but small space compared to other hotels. At the end of the hotel there is a public beach that’s heavily populated until late at night. Entertainment- every evening it was same show with belly dancers but different singers/bands. Food - absolutely awful. I was very concerned about the food hygiene. Not everything was labelled. They rely a lot on meats, limited salad/veg options (for my taste). Very concerning that cheeses were left out just like some products that were supposed to be refrigerated. As a result of that my kid developed a stomach bug - thank you for the cleaning lady that helped cleaning after my kid. Cocktails in the lobby were great not at the Soul restaurant- same cocktail ordered every evening but at Soul it was a disaster. Different taste! The room - on our second evening I woke up during the night due to smoke inhalation. This was at 3am! No alarm smoke activated, however the night manager brought us a fan and asked to open the window. None from the management team came to check on us after this incident to see how is our holiday. Decided to enjoy while we are here. Pool - decent size. They don’t have much entertainment. The waiter - Mohammed was great addition for our dinner. Greeted us with a smile most evenings and was interested in getting to know us a little bit, so thank you for that. Water - you are given a bottle of 1.5L a day but have to pay for what you’re using despite it’s a half board. Customer service at lunch time- inconsistent and very very slow. Some days you are given bread and olives which are always a nice gesture, some days we didn’t get any! So varies … Overall I would not run anytime soon to book this hotel. Lack of attention to details especially after the smoke incident gave us an idea that you’re not looked after. That’s our experience.
Everyone was extremely welcoming and they made extra efforts for my son and nieces Bdy. Staff welcomed them with a wish. The nurse Sumaya was very helpful and kind as I was not well. She was was very empathetic and helped Find medical support. A big thank you to everyone at Sofitel for making our stay so enjoyable. Amazing hospitality and lovely resources.

Located in the quieter end of the resort, just a stones throw from the beach. The whole hotel is spotlessly clean, but being over 20 years old showing some signs of wear in places, especially the pool floor. It is quiet at present in the hotel so there are plently of sun beds of all shapes and sizes available. The atmosphere is very chilled and it is very easy to switch off. There is plently of selection for breakfast and everything we have had has been of high quality, fresh and tasty. We eat at the beach restaurant on the 1st day, I had a steak which wasn't great, very fatty and little meat, my wife had a wrap which was good, chips were on the cold side. Soul restuarant is superb, the taster menu was exceptional. The room is well appointed and very clean. The maid does a great job but has forgotten towels and water on 2 separare occassions, reception sorted this immediately. My bed is extremely comfortable but that said it may not suit everyone as there is a big dip in the mattress so it probably needs replacing. From reading previous reviews people have mentioned a bad smell, in my opinion this doesn't come from the hotel it comes from the Industrial fish processing plant down the coast as it can be smelt everywhere at times, there are diffusers in the corridors that pump out a delightful aroma. Food and especially alcohol are expensive in the hotel but that is to be expected. Entertainment available every night around 9pm. Electic bikes available which are a bit of craic. Staff are brilliant, if you want a relaxing break my the sea this is a great place to stay.
