I have never been so let down by a hotel that dares to call itself 5-star. Every part of this stay was a disappointment, and I regret booking it from the moment we arrived.
The Room: Old, musty, smelly, and nowhere close to 5-star condition. The bed creaked and squeaked with every single move — we could barely turn over at night without being jolted awake by the noise. On top of that, we asked for flip flops, a basic amenity any hotel should have, and were told flatly they "don't exist in the hotel." Everything about the room felt cheap and neglected.
Breakfast: Poor quality across the board, stale, cheap pastries; I cracked a boiled egg, and it was all watery and spilt all over, and btw that happens when you reheat boiled eggs multiple times. , Bitter coffee, and orange juice made from powder instead of anything fresh. Nothing tasted good; nothing felt like effort was made.
Lunch: Recycled leftovers from breakfast, served again with raw tomatoes and onions thrown on the plate. Not one dish felt like it belonged in a 5-star buffet.
Spa: We booked a massage through the hotel app as instructed by staff. When we arrived, we were told the app had a technical issue "for the whole day" and our reservation meant nothing.
Dinner the worst part of the entire stay: Reception told us to book dinner via the app. Spa staff separately confirmed the app wasn't working. We decided to try the à la carte restaurant Marrakech ourselves, arriving at 21h45, well within its posted hours of 21:00–22:30. We were coldly refused: "We only serve exactly at 21h, we're done." We argued, and reception's only response was handing us an email address to file a complaint, no manager appeared, no resolution was offered, just indifferent staff watching us argue. We were forced back to the buffet, where we were served the exact same leftovers from lunch.
We read the reviews before booking and decided to take the chance anyway! We went in with fairly low expectations, but we specifically wanted an adults-only, all-inclusive hotel. It was around £500 cheaper than the Palace, and our flights were an absolute bargain, so we decided we’d grin and bear any of the negatives mentioned in the reviews.
To be honest, preparing ourselves for the worst probably worked in our favour because we arrived and thought, “This really isn’t that bad at all!”
We ate well every single day. Yes, the food can become a little repetitive as the week goes on, but you soon find the things you like and stick with them. The omelette station was an absolute winner for me every morning! There are also free-flowing fizzy drinks from the machines. Definitely bring a refillable bottle because the glasses are tiny.
We mainly stuck to sangria and beer, which we enjoyed. If cocktails are important to you, just be aware these aren’t really your frozen, blended holiday cocktails — think more Blue Lagoon and Sex on the Beach. The breakfast orange juice isn’t freshly squeezed either, but these were hardly deal-breakers for us.
I’m very well travelled and have stayed in some beautiful resorts all over the world, and for the price we paid, I genuinely think this hotel was bang on for its star rating.
One thing worth mentioning is the adults-only atmosphere. We are both 35 and definitely felt like we stuck out like a sore thumb 😂. The overall crowd is much older and there’s very little daytime entertainment or music around the pool, so if you like a bit of atmosphere, bring your headphones!
We’d read reviews saying the furniture was dated. Some of the sunbeds could definitely do with being replaced, but the upstairs balcony seating area was absolutely stunning. Our bedroom was comfortable, clean and tidy, and we slept really well.
The staff were absolutely fantastic. Everyone was incredibly friendly, happy to help, always saying hello and even making an effort to remember your name. They were genuinely one of the highlights of the hotel.
Now for the biggest warning…
SUNBED WARS AT 7AM! 😂
If you’re not by the pool before around 7:30am, you’ll be very lucky to get a sunbed. Unfortunately, I eventually had to admit defeat, join everyone else and set my alarm for 7am every morning — much to my absolute dismay while on holiday!
The area immediately outside the hotel felt perfectly safe to us, and the beach is literally around 30 seconds away. I walked along the beach alone at around 7am and there were plenty of local people outside exercising and starting their day.
There was occasionally a slight sewage-type smell when we first turned the shower on. It wasn’t unbearable and disappeared fairly quickly, but it’s worth mentioning as we’d seen similar comments in other reviews.
The Wi-Fi was also surprisingly good. I had a few conference calls from our room using the hotel Wi-Fi and didn’t have any issues.
We booked a few trips through Viator during our stay too, which gave us a chance to get out and explore, and we had a lovely time doing those.
Overall, we had a really enjoyable holiday. If you’re looking for an adults-only, all-inclusive break and you’re thinking, “I don’t want to spend an absolute fortune,” then I honestly wouldn’t let some of the negative reviews put you off. There are little things that could be improved, but for what we paid, they were completely bearable and didn’t stop us having a great time.
And for context — I’m VERY fussy about hotels. I’ve even complained about a trip to the Maldives 😂 — so the fact that I’m leaving here happy probably says quite a lot!
Overall experience was good sfaff very friendly and attractive good variation of food. Main communal areas kept clean and look smart rooms are simple and kept clean but are dated. Worst part is around the pool all sunbeds are dirty and need a deep clean the ones on the beach are even worse. These are not upto the normal Rui standard. Not bad enough to spoil a relaxing holiday would I recommend yes overall a good experience.

Overall this hotel has so much potential but needs a lot more work and attention. I don’t think it’s fair for other reviews to say ignore the negative reviews as I did ans was really let down. I paid for 4 star + TUI Blue holiday and got nothing like that. If you go with your expectations set that this will not be a upto normal 4 Star or TUI Blue standard then I’m sure you will have a lovely time. I just didn’t not get what I paid for or expected.
Booked a room with Balcony and a partial sea view Well there was hardly any balcony as you couldn’t fit a table and two chairs on and the sea view was partial you could just about see it. But………..we were put at the back of the hotel overlooking another Hotel which had a what I only describe as an air conditioning unit which was making a racket night and day and some days there was a smell which I can assume were the waste from that Hotel We complained about the noise and view asked to be moved. We were moved two floors up but still had the same noise from the unit but at least the balcony was wider and the sea view was a little better .Beware if you have booked a room with a partial seaview you will most probably get that. On the Plus side the Hotel was very good Food and waiters were excellent could not do enough for you refilling glasses when you wanted. Good range of food, Ala carte Restaurant made a nice change and we ate out a few times at Pure Passion in the Marina and an Italian Amore Passione both were excellent. Cocktails were not particularly good but drinks were available non stop until the bars closed. Entertainment was great in the Evenings. The TUI team were good as were all the staff at the Hotel. Our 2nd room had a few minus points the lighting wasn’t very good not sure if the aircon was working and we had wiring coming out of the ceiling with nothing attached. But overall we have been spoiled the last few years going to the Maldives and staying in top range hotels but decided to take a punt on a TUI Blu but we were a bit disappointed with the room at the Hotel
