Not a 4 star far from it

From the outside upon arrival thos hotel looks beautiful and location we liked as seemed to be really central and only stone throw walk to the beach. We arrived at 11am and were told couldn't check in until 2-3pm.which was ideal was left lingering around yes could leave cases but u have to like carry the important stuff around with u which is a slog. As we went around the hotel it is tired and in need of some tlc . The pools are great but as for entertainment around the pool pretty rubbish alot of French shouting not sining and same everyday. The food from day one I was not impressed and got alot worse throughout the week same repeated everyday and alot just didn't look nice. If u have fussy eaters don't come. The only best bits of food was the omletes in morning as these cooked fresh wen ordered all the pastries are hard and look overdone as if there old. At dinner time only they have fresh pizza bring made which was nice but other than that it was same crap everyday. And also found the all inclusive definitely not value for money from about half 1 there's not food on until 4-5pm n even then all that is is pancakes n there doughnuts. The tea at 7:30 there is no like snack bar e went to mcdonalds with kids and even ordered it to hotel and wasnt only one there were people with pizza hut boxes and drinks the bar inside completely empty behind u literally have choice of beer wine gin vodka n prob about two crappy cocktails and kids there a choice of 5 juices. Me and my son both been poorly for the last 3 days of our holiday he's been on imoduim calpol and ibuprofen. Ruin it really. The evening entertainment one of the worse we have had the old man that sings is good but other than that not much on nothing around to let u know what's on each night either. This hotel certainly needs re valuating as its not a 4 star at all I say a 3 not a 4. We wouldn't return purely because of the food and entertainment

Butlins in the sun

A mixed review some parts fantastic and others well... If you like Butlins in the sun maybe this is for you? Relaxing break go elsewhere.

The food - if you have allergies don't expect the restaurant staff or team to know what's in the products or even care. The signs are poor and you get a blank look.

The room - basic but clean and housekeeping was fanatic. No real complains but a shortage of outlets , we had a multiway

WiFi - it doesn't reach rooms, or most of the hotel so if wanting access you need an esim

Staff - welcoming and included us, not pushy but helpful

It's a hotel of two halves, literally, french and English with two sets of staff. I didn't feel we were treated worse or better. The French entertainment is very loud and in your face, the Tunisian team are much more approachable and supportive.

Pools - the adult pool is very loud and very deep. The staff on this pool were great. The kids areas are left dirty often with previous days mess and this needs improving.

Toilets etc were kept super clean

The holiday for me was marked by more than one fight which I felt the hotel staff didn't really deal with and put us on edge. I felt more action should have been taken to stamp it out, watching adults throw sunbeds and kick off isn't what I expect.

I knew to expect 3* from a morrocan 4* so no surprises.

Simply amazing

Having read reviews before our arrival we had mixed hopes about our stay here. Well how wrong where we to even doubt this hotel, we arrived at 11:30 and where told the rooms wouldn’t be ready for a few hours but we where more than welcome to use any of the amenities at our leisure until then. So we went for a wander around and found the main bar, the staff here were so warming and friendly helping us understand what was available. We then went for lunch to a huge array of different foods(which having seen reviews we were sort of apprehensive about) we then headed back to reception and where taking to our room. A lovely spacious riad suitable for our family of 4, very high cleanliness and this carried on every day by the maids coming and doing lovely sculptures with towels etc. we had read that the hotel seemed to “favour the French”. Yes the hotel was very French heavy in comparison to English but that did not make one bit of difference every staff member was more than willing to help us and not just French guests, the food was rotated to a different theme daily, brilliant spreads, beautiful fresh food and always piping hot! Breakfast lunch and dinner! The pools are amazing, the lifeguards are very Kean on safety which is very reassuring and there is always beds available and a bar at each pool making it easily accessible to acquire a drink to quench your thirst The entertainment team for us stole the show, Simba,Bono,Salah and Co. Every morning coming round checking you slept okay, asking you to join in activities which vary daily! Pool parties, Zumba, football, darts, table tennis, dancing you name it they do it! This then carries on into the evening, where all the entertainment team come round saying bon appetite, asking if you’re having a good meal, greeting you as you exit the restaurant and playing games just before the evening meal is served. Lahcen the bartender was phenomenal with my children helping their confidence when ordering themselves a drink and a true credit to the bar team. This hotel and its staff go way above any expectation set and the standard they set is that of a very high level Bravo to each and every one of them Hopefully see you all again soon Room 904 family ❤️

Hotel holiday review

First of all, to other people who wish to book and with UK operators not mentioning this. The hotel has two operators in one hotel Valeria (most British customers and other internationals will use this name and gain a white wristband) and Tui France Club Marmara (For French and blue wristbands). This should be well stated but obviously isn’t. There does feel like there is a divide between French and other nationals in the hotel with certain blocks (1-4) being French natives and others in other blocks. This may be wrong but upon experience this is what I have found out. A divide as such as a group of UK customers and French customers almost came to blows. If you have a white wristband, Club Marmara entertainment won’t speak to you they only engage to their own people. The entertainment is largely French with Club Marmara having more shows in the theatre which is disappointing as it should be shared or maybe getting live or tribute acts instead of providing for one operator.

The hotel does have cracks all over, that’s just general part parcel of an unkept hotel and those things are minor. I would watch for cracks in the pool, there are too many which can be a hazard.

Dribs and drabs with staff, some are polite and some are not. I haven’t had a specific issue but there have been arguments within staff in the restaurant, bar and entertainment team which isn’t nice to see.

Another issue is there is a pool bar for most of the day and a normal bar. One bar in the evening for a large quantity of people is very inadequate. Sometimes bar staff are struggling to keep up when extremely busy, having another bar will help things be more smooth and reduce stress on one area. Having all inclusive shut at 11pm is a bit deflating but we can work around that. Food is very repetitive at evening times like 6 days out of 7 days repetitive. Only was different on Thursday and that was Moroccan day. And again food didn’t really cater all nationalities, either chicken or lamb for main meats and mostly Moroccan foods. I know we are in Morocco but a variation could be ideal to suit all. I think the pizza area should be open for evenings and ice cream available for evenings instead of lunchtime, lunchtime is not a main meal time.

Biggest issue is the air conditioning or roofing near the air conditioning. There was dampness and even had a leak, when air conditioning was turned off it got worse and droplets appeared all over. Reported it since day 1, nothing happened until day 4 when we had to move rooms. It was constantly reported to cleaners and receptionists who said someone would come out to fix the issue. This looked like it didn’t happen. Went from 637 to 322, and the cleaner even mentioned the room we moved in also experienced leaking in the same form. So why move us in a room with the same issue. And again, it leaked from the roof onto the floor. Didn’t have to move, it got sorted and hasn’t had any leaks only small droplets until the last day when it leaked on the floor, damp signs and isolator turned off. You can only use air conditioning at 22 or 23 and no lower, so why even put air conditioning in to set it close to the outside temperature, there is no effect rather just leave the air conditioning off and sweat throughout the night. There was someone in 633 who used air conditioning regularly under 22 and experienced no issues so it could be down to poor maintenance. These things needs to be checked regularly, air filters, overfilling tanks need drains or cold air condensate to be drained or returned back to the mains water, there is ways around it instead of overfilling and leaks.

The only thing that has saved this holiday has been some of the excursions and Agadir beach and marina being relatively close by. Agadir is a beautiful place, no doubt Marrakesh and Casablanca are the same. I would come back to Agadir or venture somewhere else in Morocco but very unlikely return to this hotel.

Big question for this hotel is, choose what you want to do. Either cater for one operator/nationality (like the French) or cut the divide, one entertainment team, one wristband for everyone. There is a lack of inclusiveness. This establishment will run better is you choose one operator or include all nationalities together. Since you’re already halfway, I’d stick with French but that needs to be sorted out between the hotel and very very quickly.

TripAdvisor Review
You will get sick, be warned.

Pools & slides are great for the kids. Finding a sunbed, near impossible unless you get up 6.30 or before to reserve one. Cleaners are lovely and hard working, much like most of staff with the exception of a few. If you aren’t French, don’t expect water and wine offered at dinner, as you get pretty ignored as English guests.

The worst part is the food and hygiene of the restaurant. We are here now on day two and myself and my 5 year old son are laid up in bed with diarrhoea and sickness. It’s horrendous. I read lots of people assuring they got sick but now I’m experiencing it, it’s awful. Our stomachs are cramping non stop and being in bed while it’s so hot outside is not how we planned our holiday.

Jet 2 have downgraded it to a 3 star but easyJet still have it as a 4 star. It’s probably best placed a 2 star. I will complain to easyJet and hope that they change the grading. It’s misleading to guests wanting a 4* holiday when they definitely will not get any luxury at all here. The restaurant has microwaves so you can heat your food up…. Who goes to a Buffett restaurant and needs to reheat the food! Crazy! My advice is stay elsewhere in Morocco.
