Iberostar Founty Beach

Just returned Flight.... great and special assistance amazing with one of our party in a wheelchair Transfer to hotel.... be sure to avoid the locals trying to help with suitcases tgen expect a tip Journey to hotel.... dont look out of the window Hotel welcome.... amazing loved the mint tea. Reception.... were very good we were missing 2 of our party due to last minute illness Hotel accessability.... amazing for wheelchair users and people struggling with mobility Beach access.... very close and a private section the wheelchair access ok but limited. Rooms.... good size and aircon kept it a cool space to escape the heat. Bathrooms a good size too. Room very clean if you can ignore the cockroaches!!! The pool area .... is the biggest possitive we managed to get a bali bed for the whole week. Access to pool was easy the water temperature was ok once in, the sea was slightly warmer for swimming. Entertainment.... quiz laughable, guitarist questiinable, stage show was interesting 🤣 Food & beverage offering.... other than the fresh oysters this hotel is one if the worst experiences ive ever had having travelled to many parts of the world. Restaurant felt like a hospital cafetiria Food tasteless, unseasoned, some items definitely not at a safe holding temperature. Too many guests being unhygienic not usung utensils to pick items up. The poor quality of produce and low culinary skills of the chefs was very evident. The beer a waste of time serving it as was never consistent same as the soft drinks. I was not a fan of the amount of people smoking around the bars and pool but thats a personal preference. Staff mostly very good, I can speak and understand french so the staff should be more careful talking about guests because they think guests wouldnt be able to translate. Some need to stop hitting on young female guests constantly too. The management need to seriously look at the whole food & beverage operation as it needs a complete overhall maybe when they eventually do the hotel upgrade would be the perfect. I am Very surprised infact shocked at the hotels 4 star rating 🤦‍♂️as for me its definitely not.

Check in was very slow at Reception and waited at least half an hour to get keys for room. Room itself was ok, very big but could do with a bit more storage. Room had a strange musty sort of smell about it and think it might be the damp on the wall near the bed, obviously coming from the shower which is on the other side. No rubbish bin in the room all holiday, could have asked for one but you would think the cleaners would notice this and put one in there so managed without. Bar staff are amazing and very quick and the drinks are good but the waiters are there basically there to collect glasses and not get your drinks for you although if you keep tipping them the service improves. Some people outside Orion bar were getting looked after a lot more than others and some having tables reserved and others left to fend for themselves. Found the service very inconsistent at Orion bar and there is no poolside service at all which i find could have improved with just a few more staff. Found the Restaurant a bit more like a canteen with very small and low down chairs and everything is self service again and just needed a bit more luxury about it. Eating area outside same as above if you tipped the waiters they looked after you if you don’t then you’re on your own. Food was good but very samey every night and reviewers saying it was wonderful are exaggerating a bit. We went for evening meal about 8:30-9:00 every night almost always had to ask for table setting and did ask for drinks a few times but they never arrived. The pool area was nice and clean and enjoyed or time there although sun beds are uncomfortable and either need replacing or some sort of pads on them and you are stacked together like sardines with hardly any space to yourselves this needs reviewing as there must be a better way. Snack/pool bar was great and enjoyed the food there especially the omelettes which you could have made as large as you wanted. The promenade and beach area’s were nice and you can have a nice walk into Agadir. Beach is very clean and sandy and is very popular. It’s not all doom and gloom but the hotel is just lacking the small things and a bit of luxury and it would have been fantastic. Not for us as we are in our 60’s and used to being looked after a bit more but will suit most for a nice holiday away.
